Saigon responds to Joe Budden: “Under Achiever”

Since Joe Budden released his “Letter to Saigon” earlier this week, Sai has promised to fight Joe Budden on sight, which would prove absolutely nothing…but thankfully, he’s also exercising his other option (and talent)….rapping.
(Props to Legend for sending me the link….as I told him, I think Sai is a witty wordsmith. But…. wives and kids-attacks are a slippery slope to a place where the mentally insecure are most at home. But that being said…any low blow punchlines are better than real life punchouts.)
PS: in semi-related news, it seems that shooting a gun in the air, and slapping someone for no reason does, in fact, attract attention from the police. (wonder if the video coverage had anything to do with that….eh, probably not, right?)

If you claim your gonna fight Joe budden on sight then why even speak on it? Go find him and get it crackin without NO type of announcement via music or interview etc…
And too top it off Saigon has really yet too start a REAL successfull rap Career! With the exception of his small role on HBO’s Entourage and a few Underground records Sai has yet too really place himself on the map.

I don’t know people….I don’t know the ages of some of you commenters, but, this is a real Hip Hop diss record right here and it’s what he should have done from the beginning. Instead of talking all that nonsense. As far as the son comment…..GENIUS…..this is Hip Hop…I think all this “political correctness” has seeped it’s way into the Hip Hop Nation..lol…..you would have to go really out there to cross the line, like saying something about someone deceased or something along thse lines. But if they can keep it like this, on wax(I sound old), which I doubt considering the level of ignorance of the parties involved, I think it could turn out to be a decent battle.

Its funny how nobody said shit when Game threatened to kidnap 50 Cent’s son after is house burned down.
In this situation Saigon mentioning Joes kid is simply a retaliation to Joe’s attack on his parenting. If you can’t take a shot, don’t dish it out.
They both will never drop albums so I’ll at least get some entertainment watching these guys go at it.
Its a clean fight for now at least.

its weird that people are saying sai went to far on this track, cause when you ask any rap fan to name the best diss record ever, im sure Pacs “Hit’em Up” would be a unannimous top 3. and that was maybe the most disrespectful track ever…
so i gotta agree with SDP, alls fair. its all about what a particular rapper can afford. if Sai can afford whatever repercussions come with calling a mans son gay, or a mans wife a whore, then he’s allowed to say it. however, if joe flips, and takes it to the next level, Sai cant cry foul, cause he took it there.
basically, rap battles have been reduced to “who can throw the lowest blow without blinking” contests.

I’ve lost a lot of respect for Joe Budden in the past month. Within this time, he has baited two rappers and revived “beef” that was essentially dead. When the first situation went too far in the eyes of many, he quickly deaded it and made people believe that he had learned a lesson. He then gave DJ Vlad a self-righteous lecture on learning from mistakes and conducting onself differently in the future. A little over a week later, he goes and does the same thing again. After all that, why are people throwing Saigon under the bus? Because he called Joe’s son “gay”? I don’t believe that is a very big deal in the real world. I suppose it’s a whole different story within this homophobic/homoerotic rap culture, but that is another conversation. Anyway, Joe spoke on Saigon’s personal situation first, so the way I see it, his are now fair game, whether you agree with how Saigon went about it or not. Somebody should tell Joe Budden to stop with the bullshit. He had a great ‘08 and is now diminishing that with this garbage. He has too much talent to behave like he’s Jim Jones.

I been around many rappers doing security and know a few from my home town. And the cat saigon I know him from doing time. In prison he was the soft cat there was. In “LIFE” there are unspoken rules. For example, you got beef with someone don’t do it in front of the kids or don’t involve the kids & wives. Like in Scarface. Anybody who is brought up as a “MAN” knows this.
Now, I mention this because Saigon should of never mentioned Joe Buddens son regarding this battle. At the end of the day. Saigon lost the battle because he f-up in the very start by talking about JOe’s breath. That was some 5th grader-ish. But anyway he didn’t come hard enough at the end of the day.
So not only did Saigon lose the battle but he lost my respect for him as a man.

Not to be a drab about it, but this sounds like Pappypoose and the other dude who were battle rapping it out and Pappypoose recorded like 3 response records and 2 youtube videos within like 2 weeks – how about putting together a radio-friendly record with the same effort, because after all, rap is a business.
