Mikey: Last night, Rock The Bells founder Chang Weisberg held a press conference to officially announce the line up of this year’s Rock The Bells tour. After, Weisberg confirmed that  Yelawolf, Brother Ali, Immortal Technique, The Clipse, Wiz Khalifa, Murs, Slick Rick, KRS One, Rakim and Wu Tang Clan were all joining the tour this year, he addressed URB’s rumors of Lauryn Hill being the RTB headliner.

“Personally, …I would love to have Lauryn Hill on this bill. We would love to have a lot of acts on the bill and not to single out Lauryn or Run DMC but know that the energy surrounding Rock The Bells creates that kind of excitement and anticipation for people. It’s almost like a massive ball of positive energy that attracts a lot of attention and hopes. One day maybe it’ll happen, it might not. – Chang Weisberg

Judging from Weisberg’s answer, it seemed pretty obvious that he at least reached out to Ms. Hill but couldn’t pull her into the show… just yet. However, before closing the self confessed “biggest fan ever” hinted there are some big surprises to come and urged fans to remain hopeful.

After the jump, URB responds…

In a new post, URB explains:

“…So what does it mean when your inside sources tells you “I can’t confirm anything, buuuuttt, I won’t deny it.”? Apparently, not much. Here’s hoping that the ink is just not dry on the contracts.

We CAN however confirm that Ms. Hill will be performing at the Harmony Festival at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa California…
And we were right about one thing, that the theme of this year’s festival will be artist performing their classic albums, including Slick Rick performing the Great Adventures of Slick Rick. Krs-One performing Criminal Minded, Rakim performing Paid In Full and The Wu-Tang Clan performing Enter the 36 Chambers.”
