‘Rolling Stone’ Gets Rick Ross To Open Up About Past Life As Corrections Officer

Rick Ross lets it all hang out on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. With his new album, God Forgives, I Don’t in stores now, the face of Maybach Music Group speaks with writer Josh Eells on his health, thoughts on the tragic shooting in Colorado, gun control, the recent Chick-fil-A controversy, and his past as a Corrections Officer.
For the first time, Ross talks about his past life as a corrections officer – an opportunity, he says, to “wash my hands” after his best friend was sentenced to 10 years for trafficking cocaine and heroin:
“This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted,” says Ross. “My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a fucking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.”
Catch the issue when it hits newsstands on August 17th.

Ross suggests that the seizures he suffered late last year were probably the result of smoking too much weed: “I’m most definitely an avid user, a pothead, however you want to look at it. I call it green caviar. It’s like a short vacation – it helps me chill out. And people really love it when I chill out, because I can really be a dickhead.”
After he was suspended from elementary school for horseplay, Ross began attending a small Christian school: “They wanted me to learn the Ten Commandments. I told them I didn’t really have time for that right now,” recalls Ross, who eventually made his way back to public school and excelled as an offensive lineman in high school football. “I got through high school on my popularity and shit,” Ross says. “But my grades was never good. I was never good at math.”
Ross was digusted by the recent theater shooting in Colorado (“Such a cowardly act”), but he’s not in favor of gun control: “I think we all have a right to bear arms, whichever amendment that is.” Even assault rifles? He shrugs. “I got ‘em.”
Ross favors freedom of speech – all kinds: “Chick-fil-A obviously took their stand. That’s their right – the same way the pro-gay people are taking their stand. I believe everybody got the right to live their own life the way they want to.” So does that mean he’d support a Chick-fil-A boycott? “Naw. I love that spicy chicken.”

This guy makes me laugh so much, I think he has told so many lies he has forgotten what he’s said in the past. Obviously his been media trained but even that can’t help him. I’ve heard him talk about being suspended from elementary school before but i’ve never heard him talk about graduating high school going to college and studying criminal justice at university and struggling to become a successful rapper. He has said a number of times in songs and even interviews he is rich of cocaine but according to Erick Sermon he was broke and Suave House owner Tony Draper used to drive him around to studio sessions and he even slept on Greg Street’s sofa a few times. LOL

Big Meech just basically cosigned Ross saying he has no problem with him having been a C.O as long as he wasnt a rat. So I guess Ross wont have as much issue speaking on it now.

My advise to Rick Ross is 2just keep dodging questions about his past him being a C.O n stuff … coz u lookin even mor rediculious lying and making up nonsence stories about it … 1st u were neva a C.O, then u were sent there to do undercover drug work for sum druglord, then u did it to be close to yo friend who was locked up (that is the most rediculious bullshit story ever, then why did u leave that job after 2years ?? were u over being close with him after 2years ?) and then u were advised to work as a C.O.
Just rather dodge those questions Ross coz lying bout why u were a C.O is making it even worse.
Just dodge those questions they only gona make things worse, u r a realy realy bad liar …
Lucky 4u there r alot of dum ppl who believe that u sell coke on yo ifone, that u drive around yo 911 with a kilo in the glove box inlite of rappers like T.I going to jail 4 posssession, and that believe u can fit in a Lotus sportcar.
Even with yo music, just rap about bitches, strip clubs and money … stop with the coke thing dude.
This is just advise from a hip hop fan who feels sorry 4u, every1 is larfing at u and mocking u.

If he had died due to those alleged marijuana-induced seizures they would’ve just released his falsehood-laced “music” and moved on. The world has more than enough liars and stupid people.

Man listen first things first although he is becoming a bit repedative wit his music as of late ROSS makes quality MUSIC his STATS is official the whole C.O. Thing let me say this he was WRONG cuz he never shouldve lied but last time u checked a C.O. Makes damn near 100,000 a year then people be out here having these hustler fantasy there was only 1 BIG MEECH or BMF everybody who has sold drugs before was not i REPEAT was not gettin money on that level so now everybody expects a artist like ross who takes that image and personafies it we as listeners hold him to b the BOSS when and if he was selling drugs
