Rick Ross Gets Brooklyn Going Wild at Vice.com’s Official Launch Party (Video)
Posted by Mikey Fresh under videos[9] Comments
Man, I just got in from an insane hipster mini-riot/mosh pit. Who knew skinny jean wearing, vans slip-ons rocking white kids were such die hard Ross fans. At 1 Hanson place in Brooklyn (the same venue where Kanye held his G.O.O.D. Music showcase) Vice Magazine hosted the launch of their web counterpart Vice.com. After the The Weeknd was announced and then unannounced as the headliner, the kick-ass folks at Vice got Ricky Rozay to takeover the big show. Ross had people crowd surfing, moshing, girls fighting, people spraying beer like champagne and all kind of acts of debauchery going on. Ruhh!
Rozay performs “I’m On One” after the jump…

she still has a point though. im just as surprised as she is. i wouldve thought that rick ross isnt “indie” enough for hipsters. also, since rozay is beefing with kreayshawn who is MUCH more hipster than she is although lets hope thats all but died down now.

It bugs me out that anyone is surprised…suburban white kids have always been the driving force behind hip-hop financially and always will be. When I was a kid we used to either tape songs from the radio or go to Powerhouse Records on Church and boost cassettes…now everybody mostly steals online…but I would say that with the advent of itunes, more people have gotten into the mix of buying music but let’s not kid ourselves…white kids fuel the music industry. You just won’t find them in the hood spots to see Ross. 1 Hanson is on Flatbush Ave in very gentrified Fort Green. That area is probably safer than the area surrounding the White House.

kreayshawn is signed to a major label so i don’t know what you mean by ‘much more hipster.’
not to mention i don’t really think most people nowadays care about how mainstream an artist is as longer as long as he/she is talented. maybe 5-10 years ago, but this is 2011, guys.
