There is nothing wrong with having an honest job… I for one am not a gangster by any means of the term. If William Leonard Roberts II had to get a day job to provide for his family I can respect that. However when your are impersonating a gangster for the masses there is something wrong with that… yeah at the end of the day its all entertainment and as adults most of us aren’t going to buy into the B.S. but we all know some kids are raised by the streets and heavily influenced by the music they listen to, so for a man to promote a lifestyle he hasn’t lived to kids is just wrong…

It’s a persona. It’s entertainment. If Ross does not have poetic license to use his imagination as he pleases, then you should not give screenwriters, novelists,and actors a pass. Niggas act like Uncle Ruckus when it comes to both white and black folks. No one questions whether Stephen King is a psychopath even though he creates such characters. They simply assume he’s making “art.”

Most of your response was pure garbage.He’s playing a character. You are plain stupid to think that he’s slanging cane or doing any of the things he’s talking about in his music. It’s an act. If you seriously do not understand that, then you are lost. By the way, Stephen King, in his book on writing, says that these characters are him. However, that does not mean that he’s doing anything that those characters are doing. The same goes for Rick Ross. Of course he’s not doing those things, but he’s a living metaphor for a real gangsta.

Let me ask you a question. When Rick Ross says “I think i’m Big Meech, Larry Hoover” do you believe that he literally thinks he’s Big Meech or Larry Hoover. If so, we have nothing further to discuss. Figurative vs. literal language is what explains that line.

Not knowing an artist does not prohibit you from defending an art.

Ad Hominem Argumentum is an error in reasoning when one attacks a person’s character rather than their argument. It’s a fallacy.
Sophocles and the sophists are not identical. Sophocles was a Greek playwright. He wrote the famous “Oedipus Tyrannus,” which Freud perverted and used for his own purposes. The sophists were philosophical charlatans who made weak arguments appear as strong ones. Interestingly enough, Plato despised Sophocles and the sophists. While Nietzsche applauded both.
