Rick Ross Debuts “I Love My B*****s” Prod By Just Blaze, & “You The Boss” Feat. Nicki Minaj (New Music)
Posted by Miss Info under about miss info , good for hip hop , new music[64] Comments
Rick Ross has a double-whammy on his hands. He is debuting a double single from his upcoming God Forgives, I Don’t album tonight with the big homie Funk Flex on Hot97. And multiple people that I’ve talked to on the Def Jam and WBR side have raved that there’s even stronger material on the album.
From what I’ve been told, the theme of God Forgives, I Don’t is “the duality of man,” and the two opposing personalities of Rick Ross.
UPDATE: Rick Ross announces to Flex that God Forgives, I Don’t arrives December 13.
Listen to Rick Ross’ “I Love My Bitches” (prod. by Just Blaze), and “You The Boss” featuring Nicki Minaj…
After the jump!

By the way, that recent GQ Magazine piece on Ross by Devin Friedman is one of the best profiles on him I’ve ever read….absolutely hilarious. Also hilarious…LA Weekly’s outtakes from the GQ x Rick Ross profile.

Would your ignorant ass consider Luther Vandross a fraud since he made loves songs for women but was clearly gay?
Is Biggie a fraud because he exaggerated his drug dealing exploits since everyone who lived around St. James Ave knew he was nothing more than a small time crack dealing block hugger?
All rap is fantasy idiot!

Luther Vandross reference was classic. Liter-ally dying of laughter. Never laughed so hard. Inducted in the Bartlett Quotable Book 2012 Edition:
“Consider Luther Vandross a fraud, since he made loves songs for women but was clearly gay.” ~ Author: IHATEIGNORANCE!
Stamped by “Maybach Music.” (says Rawse’s Robot Bitch).

He figured out a formula that fits him. He has pretty similar rhyme patterns in certain songs. But mostly, he has a great ear for beats. And makes some fucking catchy hooks.
That BMF makes me wanna rob niggas. Just like when they put that Biggie Warning on.

To me is pretty interesting how much Rick Ross has grown. This rarely happens in hip hop. Rappers are usually who they are and that is that. But this guy keeps writing better music, this has to do with the people he keeps around. Sort of like Jay got better after State Property was hanging around. For such a hardcore rapper is pretty delicate to make songs like this without being corny. He can make the BMF fast and this…. Pretty remarkable….. I wander what 50 has to say about Rick this day, specially since he never grew as an artist and songs like this make him sound corny.
This guys has been pretty smart by signing talented guys, Triple C’s didn’t catch so he moved on. He cut his losses short instead of trying to force the issue.
I actually was listening to Flex on the Hot 97 App while at the gym when he broke the song. That shit woke me up. I put that treadmill to the max, Flex is the best a breaking songs. He made this shit like Tupac came back to smack niggas lol but I digress.

Oh, Triple C’s aren’t on MMG anymore? Crikey, I’m late! And I agree with you on Ross as an artist-he has grown. Everytime 50 Cent comes up, I always say Rick Ross won. I thought he dug his own grave when he and Fif started beefing but he emerged stronger from the affair. ROZAY!!!

This really never happens in Hip Hop. When a marginal rapper becomes pretty good consistently. The history of the game is littered with dude that were extra talented whom couldn’t make listenable records or hit records. This guys form CO or not has been consitent and has improved year after year. Song after song. BMF will live forever. MC Hammer is a fucking street classic. Huslin’.. the list goes on and on. On a handful of guys outhere can make commercial hardcore songs…. Thats really hard to do.

Even putting aside Ross’ personal history (which is pretty hard to ignore if you’re a fan of the culture and not the “moment”), I don’t see anything special with Ross’ rhymes at all. I mean and this guy is amongst the elite?
I gave both the above tracks a few listens just so I could formulate an opinion on his new material and his rhymes have no attributes that sets apart the likes of Eminem, Nas, Hov from the others, or the likes of J.Cole, Lupe, Kendrick Lamar (newer cats). There is no decent internal rhymes, no assonance, no alliteration, no compoound or multi-syllable rhymes, no nothing really but empty words that happen to rhyme….that’s like easy hip hop.
His music just has good beats and a catchy delivery. Just come out and admit it, don’t just get one or two clever lines and say he’s a lyrical genius or amongst the elite though. That’s crap.

I think it has been acknowledged that he took a name from a pretty well known drug lord but he’s making such good music that people probably don’t really care. Plus, taking a name from a well known criminal isn’t exactly new in hip hop. How many rappers have borrowed the names of Italian and Latin American gangsters, for example? Heck, even 50 Cent took his name from a stick up kid in New York I believe (though if I’m wrong, I stand corrected). That would be interesting if someone DID take Info’s name, haha! Could you imagine?! A rival journalist makes it huge as a music journalist, working for a rival blog site…Mizz Info.

Truthfully.. Flex is the one who people see as the Dick rider, I mean he is a Don King type.. Whoever has the hot song is his friend.. Which is cool, but have some morals and ethics.. The things Willie reps is wrong, when his background is totally different.. Not all kids are as lucky as FLex children, some believe in this crap Willie selling..People of Flex stature have a responsibility to not let lies and mockery destroy our culture…

I love and I am a fan Rick Ross. Best Actor in the rap game. Rappers have to live out the person they present themselves to be on their music. His whole story is a lie however this generation of rappers are mostly fake. I understand rappers are telling me story and that is it. The youth need to look at rap as a book or movie that is loosely based on events or persons. If you think you can sell dope on your Iphone and not get caught your stupid. Do you get mad at Pacino for not being like Tony Montana in real life? Ross music is fire. As an artist he has the best ear for a beat that match his skill set. He has grown leaps and bounds as an artist. However he is a master of saying nothing in his rhymes. Drugs, car, clothes and women. I like Ross because he stays in his lane and masters it. That what cats used to do.

its funny you mention al pacino acting like tony montana… the problem I have, is when al pac gets interviewed, he’s al pac, hes not still playing tony montana… when ross gets interviewed hes still acting like hes a big time drug kingpin!!! he is still waking up, looking in the mirror, and convincing himself hes this big drug lord that he imagines himself to be… but in contrast, he went to college, got a degree, got a job as a CO… I mean isn’t music supposed to be an extension of who you are????
