Sometimes it feels like there’s way too much good new music coming out of New York to cover. Two more key pieces in the “new New York” movement, Remy Banks (repping Queens collectives Children of the Night and World’s Fair) and Bodega Bamz (of Tanboys) bring their recent “GLDCHN” collaboration to our screens in hilarious fashion today.
The clip, which is set out in sunny California, begins with the story of an overweight “rap addict” who, thanks to the magic of the music, transforms into an ultra confident, gold chain-wearing badass (one still wearing a Star Wars tee, no less). He then struts his stuff alongside Remy and Bodega to the soundtrack of their braggadocios banger. The jokes don’t stop ’til the very end, though. Directed by Luke Monaghan.

If THIS is the “New New York Movement” it’s straight garbage! REAL NY MC’S need to stop rapping like they’re from the fucking south & the beats MUST BE KEPT BOOM BAP AT ALL TIMES! WTF? I think these little kids forget where Hip Hop came from! NY Cats SET THE TRENDS, THEY DON’T FOLLOW! That’s a horrible beat all the way around! NEXT…..

That’s your opinion which is cool, but it’s close-minded to say every single track out of NY should have a boom bap beat (just look at Jay-Z’s catalog). Also I wouldn’t consider Remy that “Southern.” Go listen to his ‘Queens Revisited’ tape w/ Children of the Night. Large Pro co-signed it.

What can u not like about this video? everyone always expect the same 90s nas flow when ny is spoken of. this is the off spring of that , rhymes style, culture all wrapped in one. listen to their solo projects ull def know they from ny, but for this song they flexin in cali. dx suck it signs ,40oz triple h spit! rhymes that got the fat white kid not able to control his hip hop addiction. let them live and let u evolve !
