Rebecca Black, meet Ice Cube: The best part of pop culture fads is the satire

Rebecca Black….bwahahaa!
There’s a gazillion dollar industry devoted to hypnotizing the tweenyboppers of the world. But something about this “Friday” song hysteria is so ridiculous, it’s ripe for us snarky cynical grown-ups….to poop on.
First, I get to enjoy this amazeballs little girl with inappropriately shiny lipgloss singing “gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereaaal.” (15 million views and counting?!)
Then I get to laugh til my stomach cramps at things like….the Ice Cube Friday x Rebecca Black “Friday” video mash-up….and a Ground Hog Day “Friday”….and so many “fun fun fun fun” gifs….
Enjoy after the jump
I love my NMC brohams for keeping me in stitches throughout the day with stuff like this….Illionaire and Mr. X especially for all the Rebecca Black snark. My favorites….
The genius editing of the Friday Meets Friday, Ice Cube Meets Rebecca Black mash-up. How do people do this?! The guy rolling down the street on sherm?! amazing.
Hahahaaa!!!
The British high-brow literary analysis of Black’s poetry….”Here she hits the structure of the days of the week….here she liberates us, frees us from the shackles of a system that does not want us to know that it is Friday.” *DEAD*
The original, in all it’s ridiculous re-tard glory….Rebecca Black “Friday”
Awesome. But when Mr. X starts sending me other similar song/videos like “My Jeans” by Jenna Rose and Baby Triggy, and “Me and My Puppy” by Giovanna (“I like to dress her, in doggy clothes“)…..it’s time to be afraid.
So very afraid.

I just had the convo with my teacher
Quantum Physics Class UCLA
Teacher: Rebecca Black? She’s like a young Katy Perry.
Student: But Rebecca Black is a common whore with no talent.
Teacher: So is Katy Perry.

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!
my little cousins and her friends had this song on repeat. I was like wtf is this shit? they are like 10 – 12 years old and even they know this shit sucks. They pointed out that they were too young to drive. They also noticed that she said she was going to catch the bus and her friends pulled up in a drop top.
Last but not least, They thought dude rapping was GORILLA ZOE!!!
DEAD!!!!!!
