Raekwon on Nas’ absence on OB4CL2: “If dudes be too busy in their own minds…”

well….no need to force it. If it was meant to be it would have been done. Its a different time and place from that magical moment that made “Verbal Intercourse” (one of my favorite songs of all time).

Rae’s been working on this album since 05′ and he has seen Nas at plenty of those Rock the Bells shows…. Why is he just asking for a verse now?

Rae’s been consistently mentioning and reached out to Nas to contribute to this album quite a few times.Apparently it just wasn’t meant to be.

Rae is the man, but come on dude, Nas just had a kid and got divorced and robbed for child-support, etc. He’s got things going on.

Which would give him more incentives to make music. 1)Be a part of history 2) Get your mind off your current situation 3) Make some money (cause you’re gonna need it Esco!)

I’m liking that tracklisting.
That “Catalina” joint is weak.
As for “Verbal Intercourse”, the track is obviously classic. So is Nas’s “Deja Vu”, which has the same opening verse.

Nas doesn’t want to do anything to generate income because he knows Kelis is gonna snatch it up. Nas will release free mixtapes from here on out.

Raekwon must be living under a fucking rock! Everybody and there mother knows Nas is going through a hard time right now. Fuck rap he just had a son , his wife filed for divorce, plus she raping him for child support. Come on Rae that comment was tasteless. You know he don’t time to lay a verse down for your album. Let it be sometime magical moments are made for only once in a lifetime. Instead of punching buddens in the eye…trying to a prove a point to a pussy. You should have been calling this man seeing if he needed any support during this rough patch. I hope this album is hot . I was listening to Cuban linx 1 the other day. I don’t think he can top that. The effort was pure it wasn’t over focus on like this one.
Didn’t he have a song on the album with a crazy Rza beat? I forgot the name but in the beginning Rza is doing some funny ass noise. Before Rae slaughter the track for two verses.Anyways ,let Nas settle his personal life before you go trying to say some foolish shit like this

1st & foremost the track list looks like straight fire, that blue flame type shit….just hope it lives up to it
2nd!!!!!!! Yall need to dead all that noise crying about ” Nas has problems right now & he’s going through shit with Kelis & Rae should be sympathetic to Nas’ problems & support him in his time of need….”
Some of you need to be enlightened on the time frame of how long it’s actually been since Rae’s been asking Nas for a contribution to this album. I don’t know why it seems like I’m the only one to know this but Rae has been asking Nas to record a track for Cuban Linx 2 for approximately 2 to 3 years now, this isn’t the 1st time that he’s publicly spoken on this topic.
So what I’m saying is don’t try to paint a picture of Rae as being “the bad guy” here like he’s just now recently asking Nas for some lyrics to wrap up this album when in actuality he’s been PATIENTLY waiting for years.
Also the video you just watched wasn’t just recorded today, that video was just released today, this was recorded before, if you listen to it Rae even says that he has 12 days left to hand the album in…uhh if you look at your calendars you’ll see that the albums release date is 12 days from today so it’s physically impossible to turn an album in to a lable, get hundreds of thousands of copies pressed up & then shipped off & delivered to various retail stores all in the same day.
Damn, some of yall will believe anything. Probably still believe in Santa Claus. You should know by now not to trust everything you see in the media

Raekwon asked him to do a few bars on a song, not create a cure for cancer. Yes, Nas has a kid and is going through a divorce, but do you know how many people have to go through that and work real, DEMANDING jobs?
Come on now. Let’s not make excuses for the man (that’s what he is, a grown man, he should be able to handle writing a few bars).

I think as fans – we gotta realize that our life doesn’t depend on Nas being on OBFCL2 – I heard the album in London – it’s fire – let’s just enjoy it and not be a bunch of whiny kids about it.

I’m happy nas is not going to be on the album. The nas from “Only Built For Cuban Links pt.1″ / Illmatic era is long gone. Nas got it twisted hip hop ain’t dead, he is.
