I love Rae & Ghost as much as any1 else. But this track is sub-par. I think finding a different sample from the same original song was a mis-step.
Instead of trying to “remix” all his classics, they gotta come with something totally new that has the same QUALITY, CREDIBILITY & MUSICALITY of those mid 90’s classics.
I’m sorry I just think you can’t relive the past. For those of us that were teens and young adults (in my late 20’s now) we had the best of both worlds. We were babies when RUN DMC was clicking and we were coming of age when WU was WU.

Being 32 and rocking that purple tape for a good 6-9 months…..are Rae and Ghost still relevant?
I think they are only relevant to us that are at least 28 and up. Not sure if the new kids are going to understand the importance of this album having to be GREAT.
Rae needs to come correct or his career is over…this is coming from a certified WU Stan.

I’ll take a moment to say this:
Everyone talks Golden Era this Golden Era that, but hardly goes in as to why it was a Golden Era to them. Personally, the “Golden Era” included people/groups who took such a creative perspective to what they were doing; albeit some good, some bad but all uniquely different and subjective:
Wu-Tang: Their creativity derived from, well, i shouldn’t have to explain
Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon
GraveDiggas — Goth/Rap about death and immortality — sick.
Sadat X modeled an album based on a Black Cowboy theme — i mean, c’mon.
Das Efx — Straight from the sewer; in more ways than one.
Prince Paul/Dan the Automator — Handsome Boy Modeling School..*may not be considered golden era, but the approach holds true,IMO.
It’s that lack of creativity that i miss. Your present is directly related to what you’ve absorbed/experienced in your past, but i hardly see groups take a really different off-the-cuff approach these days. Rap seems so much more regressive than rejuvenative.
The Golden Era was so Golden because a group of 7 cats who modeled their music and ethos after the principles of ancient Gung-Fu, is simply, well, Golden.
Chill,
Harry.

OK…so we waited 14 years for this, so the album should come along when? About summer 2015?

1st of all,da late 80’s an early nineties rap grew out of a struggle. drugs and crime was at an alltime high. attitudes were harder then and da music reflected that. I rememeber NYC, LA and Chicago puttin up thousands of murders for almost 10yrs straight. times have changed and so has da music. we cant expect the young cats to fully understand where we come from. 5%ers kept us right and exact.

This album will work but in all honesty for the felling that we all crave i think rza needs to be involved majorly, the karate samples to the high and low bells to the mean intros before the songs droped. From what im hearing busta will be on it and a few other cameos and thats just not the formula for this type of album we want that old skool back.Tony starks,Rolli Fingers, noodles,Lou Diamonds,Jhonny Blaze……etc
I will support but i just hope its the right fix at the end of the day.
*Craves for his purple tape, but hes at work so Pandora will do. lol*

Lyricism and flow >>>>>>>> slick production, producers who rap, and rappers who use auto tune and speak in baby voices
Some cats can still imitate this flow, but this is a banger from the dudes who fathered this flow.
