A Tribe Called Quest delivered an unforgettable moment, closing the 2017 GRAMMYs back in February. Their performance of “We The People” served as a tribute to the late Phife Dawg, who had passed away only a few months before the awards show. On Tuesday (Nov. 28), when the nominations were announced for the 60th annual Grammy Awards next year, ATCQ’s We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service album did not receive any nods. Lead member Q-Tip let his feelings be known hours after the nominations rollout, slamming the Recording Academy for the snub.

Continue after the jump….

We were the most black cultured group out, that’s all we stood on. That’s how we represented. This fucking album we just put out, this last Tribe album, it stands with everybody else’s shit that’s up there. I don’t give a f**k,” said Q-Tip, who posted a series of videos on Instagram. “Respect to everybody who’s up there, nominated or whatever, but I’m speaking for mine. I’m sick of y’all f**king Grammy ni**as.”

Q-Tip would later reference Bob Marley and Jimmy Hendrix, who never won a GRAMMY. Soon after noting Marvin Gaye only had won one. Before going further with his rant, the legendary Queens MC/producer stopped out of respect for his friend 9th Wonder, who serves on the Grammy board.
