this is the Joe Budden freestyle that made Saigon mad. You can skip all the other stuff and just go to Joe’s part at the end.
Do you think that artists who sling sharp punchlines using each other’s names to make their points, should be more lenient about other artists doing the same? Are these disses on purpose or are they just whatever fits the joke?

I don’t get it, what did he say that was so bad? Dudes is too sensitive these days. Jealousy is a female trait Sai. Just cause he ain’t spittin fire don’t blame the ones that do. And what was Joe’s response? I couldn’t find it on that link

if i hear that Geico bar one more time . . . .
but for real, this is how shit get started, people think of the first thing that’ll fit and say it not even thinking of the implications of what it’ll bring down the road.

It’s not so much that people are sensitive, but the content in which the sensitivity comes out.
If you decide to diss someone, you cannot expect that person to act as if the thing is a joke.
That is the risk you take in being an asshole.

I don’t think it was a diss. Sai said himself on his blog that he indeed hit prodigy and then ran the fuck outta there cuz he was outnumbered. Joe just stated the truth and made it a hot punchline.

Come on people that is not considered a diss, Sai acting like a real bitch right now. I had to listen 3 times cause the “diss” was so small. Damn n#ggas act like bitches sometimes.

Joe’s line wasn’t even derogatory in the least. Saigon is obviously over-sensitive about the issue and he’s making it a bigger deal than it is.
On an unrelated note, can someone tell Hell Rell that a rap is supposed to rhyme.
November 20th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
i dont know, i think joe said it on some funny shit and sai really took it as if he was trying to play him. really you should not say another mans name unless you really ready-ready.

Saigon’s official statement (off of hiphopgame.com):
“Joe Budden never in his life would have gone to a show of somebody he has beef with, got onstage and performed. Being that he feels so comfortable putting my name as one of the butts of his jokes, I hope feels as comfortable in that hospital gown because I’m going upside his head.
“It’s not just this Joe Budden shit. I can’t even wake up and fart without seeing this shit on the internet and I’m not even famous. Imagine if I was famous. I would go crazy. This shit would drive me fucking nuts. Everybody feels like they got a right to criticize you. I’m not one of these people. I take it personally and I can’t deal with it. If me being a rapper is inviting everybody to throw stones and take shots at me, then I don’t want to be a rapper because I’m going to be the one who ends up suffering. I’m going to do something to one of these people and it’s going to cost me my life and my freedom.”

@12 duhro….thank you for that. As for Saigon, if he feels he needs to quit then quit. Talent is a responsibility, not an EZ-pass. But fame or no fame, there are still going to be things in everyday life that will make you want to react violently. And it still won’t be acceptable.
