Going off the reaction on Twitter, this year’s American Music Awards were too long and somewhat of a snoozefest. That all changed during the 40th annual show’s closing performance. Riding the “Gangnam Style” success of PSY, the South Korean artist had the honor of sending the night off performing his YouTube sensation anthem. What viewers didn’t expect was a surprise cameo from the legend who started the dance sensation, MC Hammer. The two showed off their moves to a remixed version of Hammer’s “2 Legit 2 Quit” which got the crowd, and viewers online going crazy. Clearly the highlight of the night.
Watch their performance below…..

will.i.am should work on psy’s debut album, their styles would mesh well. a psy/hammer collab would be bananas too. good fun music.

I didnt finally hear this till maybe a month or two ago via a Deadpool cosplay remake video. It’s something you cant explain but for having a billion damn youtube views you cant be mad at Hammer for linking up with it.

This was amazing, and I don’t even LIKE awards shows! I didn’t realize this at the time, but I went as MC Hammer for Halloween in 4th grade, and went as PSY for Halloween this year. It was like watching a much cooler, much better-dancing version of myself, lol. Anyway, I loved how they ended the show. I was working late at DISH last night, but my wife told me to flip on the recording when I got home, to watch MC and PSY rock out. I have the Hopper DVR, and with the PrimeTime Anytime feature I set it to automatically record every primetime show on all four major networks. It was a good way to end the day, watching these two tear it up!

Is this the modern Macarena? It kind of reminds me of it now, when watching everyone do the dance to that performance. Hammer was cool though.
