so, the new Beanie Sigel x 50 Cent joint, “I Go Off” will be out Friday the 13th….
And we can all see that this collaboration, the promotion, the poster, the teamwork, the interviews, the whole shabang is all part of a larger (diabolical) strategy.
But outside of all that…the song is some hard street s–t.
I can’t speak on whether there are darts or subliminals, from either Beans or 50 or both…but here’s a snippet of the song as just a song. (MTV/Billboard posted it as well)

UPDATE: this is why I love my readers…y’all don’t miss ANYTHING. Thanks to reader Skilla for pointing out that Beanie already used this verse in that song with Young Chris and Freeway called “Last Two” (Aug 2009)…you know, the one that they shot this video for in Philly, and someone got laid out for real right outside (!?!).
Bonus: 50 Cent has been on a promo tear, premiering his “BISD” movie in NYC, in ATL, going to Chicago, doing radio…etc. So there’s video footage of some of his stops after the jump.
At Power92 in Chicago, Fif talked about Kanye as a gay-influenced rapper, and Hov as “a punk.” (spotted on FakeShoreDrive)
50 Cent screened his movie at Kips Bay in NYC, and launched his cologne at Macy’s. LOL, I had dinner with my girl Heather Park from MAC and some lovely beauty editors from Vogue the other night, and they were talking about how Fif did a presentation for them, and admitted that he’d never been so nervous.

It’s “actually” not SMART to be repetative when your speaking, nor is it smart to use a word (“actual”)incorrectly in places that it doesnt belong.
It doesn’t show intelligence to have a weak vocabulary. *meaning* to use the same words over and over again. Even if they are big words, or words that are not commonly used by the “general public”.

JZ is in a financial position that overshadows arguments of his actual talent. Let’s think about it in another perspective. Say for instance, Mos Def’s “you haven’t been challenged” perspective. Mos says this w/ diss tracks aside, but for this argument that’s only one of the many options one can go by.
When you look at JZ’s accomplishments only a few names can truly be debated w/ or against him.
Exhibit A: 2Pac challenged JZ on 3 tracks. The first being “Hit ‘Em Up” which originally had 2Pac stating “F**k JZ!” etc.
Verdict: JZ for w/e reason didn’t reply (or @ least directly). 2Pac won by default. I’ll let you guys fill in those reasons.
Exhibit B: JZ Ft. BIG-”Brooklyn’s Finest”
Verdict: A 23 yr old BIG rapping alongside a 26 yr old JZ. BIG rhymed since the early 90’s. JZ since the late 80’s. Do the math. Talent out-shined age and “wisdom in the rap game”, as BIG proved that for himself on this track.
Exhibit C: Beef w/ Pun and Pun being lyrically better than JZ.
Verdict: JZ was shook when it came to Pun. Especially after their incident @ the club w/ the bottle of Crys that was thrown. No one outside of NY heard about this because JZ was too shook to say anything in his rhymes. Pun threw a jab or two. No one heard a whisper from JZ’s corner of the Hip Hop world @ that time. Pun dies… couple yrs later JZ feels like there’s no one left to question the “king of NY” status, so he goes after Nas. We know what happened after that though…
Exhibit D: DMX VS JZ Freestyle Battle.
Verdict: DMX won. JZ lost. Next.
Exhibit E: JZ Ft. Em-”Renegade”
Verdict: I’m not an Em fan at all. Talented guy, just don’t care for him personally. As a fan of JZ’s work prior to this track, I was left in awe of that “white boy”. His “flow is foolish”. I hated to admit that “Em killed J on that track”. It’s true though, Em “murdered him” on his own $#!+.
Exhibit F: Nas-”Ether” and the entire JZ vs Nas battle.
Verdict: Bottom line, JZ got “Ethered”. As a former JZ fan I can’t deny that even before “Ether” Nas was killin JZ. From the subliminal in “We Will Survive” to the crushing defeat of Bleek in “Da Bridge 2001″ which threw clever jabs and shots towards JZ; to the “Stillmatic Freestyle (H to the Omo)” to “U Wanna Be Me” and beyond, Nas was consistently lyrical and ferocious in this battle. I can not honestly say the same for JZ.
JZ didn’t have that fire after “The Takeover”. If not for his connections (I’ll let you fill in that blank) and his courtship to Beyonce which solidified his presence in mainstream media, he would have fallen into Hip Hop obscurity. Not necessarily mediocrity.
My opinions are just that, OPINIONS. I just want JZ fans and even JZ Stan’s to think outside the box. How can an artist no matter how much money they have, consider themselves the “best rapper alive” or “of all-time” off of sales, chart positions, debuts etc and not look at direct challenges as a source?
Think about this, JZ’s been challenged by a few notable artists since “Ether” and hasn’t done much to answer back. Why? “JZ ain’t got time for that, he’s makin too much money, he’s got Beyonce” etc.
Kings of the past, when challenged would meet the challenger head on defending his kingdom. If not they would lose their thrown and kingdom correct? If you have “no time because you’re making money” then you don’t deserve the crown as king in this “competitive sport” called Rap. You deserve to be called one of the “best/greatest business moguls of Hip Hop” but not the “best/greatest Rapper alive or of all time”. He’s ONE of the best. Not THE best.
Side note: After releasing BP3 we see he’s stolen Kanye West’s swag. On some Ye-Z type $#!+ now.

1. 50 was talking about NAS taking the whole song off the album not a line from a song which Jay z has done too. Jay has rehashed his own lines almost as much as he has biggie’s. So that argument is dead. The only thing those two songs have in common is that one line. Crime wave and stretch are street bangers. Crime wave is the only hip hop song on Cod MW2. Hate all you want the buzz is incredible.
2. Jay z was on the BET hiphop awards and he adjusted that quote to say, “Men lie women lie, money don’t”. If numbers didn’t lie Eminem would be the best rapper in the world with the most albums sold to date aside from biggie. Em, has sold more than Jay, yet we argue the best rapper alive title so numbers can be misleading.
3. Jay used like 15 mil in marketing for that album and it was probably his worst one. Jay z doesn’t have realistic material. Listen to American Gangster. Listen to every album before the last one. He tried to switch it up by doing what Wayne or Baby would do, loaded up on features to show relevance and selling albums.
4. I like BP3, but I’m tired of people giving Jay so much credit. He is not going to stop people from doing certain things. People still use autotune. I’m from NJ and we still wear tims! Who has stopped putting rims on their car because of Jay?
5. The reason no one fired a shot at Jay was because he took the back door out of the rocafella deal by allowing them to stop him from taking anyone from the roc with him. Truth be told Jay-Z has directly gone at other MC’s for years. He has actually become the opposite of what he was before. Where as he would jump at any who mentioned him in the past like JadaKiss, Mase, Jayo Felony to name a few. Now he replies when he feels like it. Now with knowing all of this, and I know yall were aware of these things, why on earth do any of you think that he gives a shit about anything thats going on with 50 Cent and Beanie Sigel?? This guy is on some completely different shit than dealing with whatever those guys say. 50 Cent has a album coming out and Sigel is a disgruntled ex-employee. Thats it. Why would he entertain Beanie Sigels complaints about his career when he knows hes been in jail on 3-4 different occasions in the last 6-7 years? Why would he entertain 50 Cent when he knows hes just doing this because his album (which will surely be his lowest selling one) is about to come out? It’s a lose/lose. The “fans” want a big MSG Garden Title fight from every diss thrown out. But the guy that’s the target, Jay-Z, really has little to gain from it.
Most of Jay’z issues are surface level. I just hope he addresses the Beans situation simply as a man.
But that may be wishful thinking.

I think JAY Z said enough on blueprint 3, i really dont see no need to make back and forth tracks when each song from this album can handle any diss beans may give or any diss 50 may give. truthfully what we talkin bout song is the future response to what beans is saying now. all jay gotta do is release this song as a single and video and u will see that whatever beans and 50 doing its kinda predicted on that track alone and if he needs more artilery you got ON TO THE NESXT 1. so what he said baggy jeans and tims he’s off that, thats his opinion, if u can find suitable clothing that feels comfortable to u, u might be off that also. i dont think jay afraid to battle but yeah when he came at TUPAC he didnt respond back like that cuz PAC took the battling shit to ths streets and wax, so JAY wasnt ready for that type of life and death battle like PAC, when big made who shot ya , thats all he needed to make and nothing else but the fire it gave PAC was crazy. so the song WHAT WE TALKIN BOUT will do for now and later, neither BEANS or 50 can match that incredible song.even if they doing a duet called I GO OFF, 2 grown ass man still being violent.

The dude 50-cent really needs to stop talking about Jay so much and focus on what 50-cent is doing. 50 can’t be Jay because he lacks the mass appeal that Jay-Z has but also lacks the lyrical skills to gain the acclaim of true hip-hop lovers, you know the kind that remember the day they first herd the illmatic album, thos people are not impressed with 50-Cent’s music at all. So in truth 50-cent is an artist in limbo not as marketable to really be huge and appeal to your brother, sister, mother, and grandma and not as skillful to be respected for his craft by the underground. Jay has somehow been able to be both he has the reasonable doubt days for the back packers and the Dynasty & Hard Knock Life for the more pop friendly hip-hop. With no true place 50 instead becomes a gimmick a shtick but when that gimmick starts to become played out and his career is threatened because of it he attacks the new thing, that new image or gimmick that is in stark contrast to and replacing what he does, and that’s Kanye. The dude reaffirms his relevance his cool buy trying to make the other guy not cool to like anymore as he did with JA Rule almost like an insecure bully who beats up the kid he really wants to be like it’s sad really. This is what his career has come to for every album he needs a beef. 50-Cent has yet to prove he can make an album from a truly creative space.
