Pill Says He Never Signed With MMG and Doesn’t Talk to Rick Ross
Posted by Mikey Fresh under videos[30] Comments
Pill made a pretty big confession to MTV News. Apparently, the rapper never signed a real deal with Rick Ross and Maybach Music. The Atlanta rapper says Rozay started calling him at about this time last year and that led to collaborations and a few show together. However, their working and personal relationship never grew into anything substantial. He even admitted that his Warner deal was already up when he began working with MMG.
“I never signed any paperwork with Ross. It was just my deal was over at Warner already,” Pill revealed to MTV News Tuesday.
“I never really went on tour with them; I never really did anything with them,” Pill said. “The only time I performed on tour with them is when it stopped in Atlanta. They still showed love to a n—a when it was time to go to Vegas, or Cali, you know, whatever the label had put together for us to be on as a whole.”
“I ain’t really got too much to say to somebody that ain’t got too much to say to me. I’m not a brownnose, I ain’t a punk ass n—a and I’m not finna go trying to chase behind somebody that ain’t sayin’ nothing to me.”
Pill says he’s still cool with Wale and Meek, but has not spoken to Ross in a long time. He maintains that he holds no ill will toward the crew.

Sad to say, but Pill never looked like he fit in that crew @ all. This isn’t surprising. I’m just waiting for CyHi to say something similar re: G.O.O.D. Music now. Just a hunch.

I believe Pill and Cyhi has a similar situation where they were just moved under a another crew’s banner. So I see why u would say that.
I dunno if CyHi is gonna complain yet though, he still knows that the Kanye link is still beneficial for him. The hype of being on that label is still better for him than not. CyHi just needs to grind for a hot song.

Have you seen Triple C’s? LOL.
Young Breed makes Pill look like Busta Rhyme. And Pill makes Young Breed look like The Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Get on your grind like them two other boys, boy. That’s why they’re hot and poppin’. Get on your grind and put out some digital mixtapes. Everyone wants to complain about how this one and that one don’t do this. Nowadays, the world is yours. You got iTunes, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. where you can advertise and share, free of charge and get it hot and popping like a lot of these rappers and Internet comedians. You got the platform, boy. Now use it.

Let’s not be surprised by this. Ross didn’t show Pill the same attention he did Wale and Meek Mill. If he didn’t sign papers with Ross and MMG then now that makes sense.
You see him mention being signed to Warner from 2009. When Ross moved over there they obviously tried to pair Pill with a crew and beef up Ross’ crew. We have seen this before with people at Def Jam and GOOD Music, Cyhi and even Big Sean I believe were signed to Def Jam before they did a deal with Kanye.
At the end of the day they can move around artists like that because its beneficial for everybody involved in the deal to move an artist already on the label under the umbrella of a more popular artist.

Gotta grind. Nuggas want it all for free. Wale and meek out there getting it. Wale was irrelevant since 2009. He got on his grind and 2011 was his come up year. Meek had a deal @ grand hustle but tip was locked up so meek went grinded and got another deal With ross now he blowin up. So he need to do the same. But Where he at? In some room recording a video when he could be doing some music. He had no problem hoppin on the album. Rocking the chain everywhere. But they didn’t see you as a fit. So now its time to grind.

I don’t think Pill should be trying to get out of his deal with Warner. I think Pill shoulda reached out to Ross and tried to have a meeting with him and show him he really wanted to be down with the crew. Tell him you like the movement and wanna get the paper work done.
Ross brought back Wale’s career and broke Meek Mills as an artist to look out for, the “rookie of the year” so to speak. All it took was a couple hot features with MMG as a crew and his own hit record and Meek Mill’s lyrics is on everybody’s tongue. Pill should have aligned himself properly with the MMG team.
Sit down with Warner and Ross. Don’t battle team while their winning.

I had that feeling. Pacman shd of deff got some push last year idk why they aint push him.
Always felt like they didn’t think he had that potential but for them commenting above, he deff been putting out music u just been slippin.
I’d love to work with Pill he underated. All he needs is more experience nd in another year in a half prolly earliest, he gona have his own hit or solid release.
It’s no surprise on this side tho, good luck.

CTE?? I’m a fan of Jeezy but he aint show that he can break an artist yet… In 2011 Ross finally did that and I think Pill is missing his opportunity because he wasn’t willing to reach out to a nigga and have a sit down about his career.

He obviously didn’t want to be apart of Metrobach Music… Would you want to work for a police officer? I mean the music is cool but the self-perception that ‘Rick’ has of himself, is quite concerning. He is no druglord, he is no ‘Bawse’, he believes he destroyed G-Unit – no, I think ‘Rick’ was mocked so much, fans can’t take him seriously regardless of the quality of product Def Jam and now Warner are releasing.
Summarise, Pill can see how much this guy has when it comes to longevity. Associating u name with a cop. He may aswell retire. Close call not signing with Officer Ricky!!!! Whatcha gon, whatcha gonna do!
Whatcha gon, whatcha gon do…

He wasn’t a police officer he was a c.o. Waaay different. Everybody said he never sold drugs but you don’t KNOW that for sure. Ive been locked up in Miami, you problem Neva been locked up at all, there are co’s that bring in drugs, ones that gangbang, some can be corrupted as hell. He is not saying he is still on the corner with rocks all he has to do is pay somebody else to sell and organize. Dumbass he definitely has the money to run a drug ring and not get his hands dirty

Pill is official. One of the best “off the top” freestyle spittas i ever heard. Everybody on here talking that “he need to grind” bullshit must not be aware of the massive amount music this nigga been releasing. I aint see MMG promotin his work at all… i’m guessin he is feelin some type of way bout that. He should be fine in the long run tho. Like French Montana said “Good music nowadays gets slept on.”

Something’s not right. if you weren’t signed, what the heck you doing with that big ass MMG chain?? it was a loan?? LOL..And how you made it to the cover of the Self Made album?? something is definitely not right.
And if you weren’t signed, why the hell were you bitchin like that on twitter the other day?? Like they owed you something! I wouldn’t promote your ass either.
And from the looks of things, it’s not your time right now. Let Wale & Meek Mills have their moment. I mean…I can’t even remember a Pill verse/ song much less.

damn we’ve seen this happen 7 years ago when interscope put Game in Gunit. that strategy worked cuz 50 did exactly what Dre n interscope fail to do which was give Game that PUSH. but Game got bigheaded when his debut sold 5 mil so turned his back n tarnished the Gunit brand all while interscope was still funding n profiting Game thru Geffen….which is still a win-win for interscope anyways. (Jimmy I. pulled a similar move with Death Row/Suge against Dre/Aftermath)
If what Pill says is true, then I think Ross is smart for not pushing Pill for WB like 50 pushed Game for Dre n interscope in 05 becuz if Pill were to blow up then shit on MMG, then its a wrap!
