I spotted this extended clip from the mini doc. Tokyo Rising over at the Dopeboyz spot. The project explored the Japanese city post earthquake and featured Pharrell helping spread Japan’s rich culture.
An interesting thing abot this clip is Pharrell saying he hasn’t been interested in music for a while. Then coming around to saying he’s missed it and is anxious to get back into his groove. I think Pharrell is about to go dumb again. Watch for it.
Bonus: Interview with Verbal

Thank you for the upload. Korea got dope fashions too, just checked out some imported Korean fashions in mall-strip, Flushing, Queens. Almost bought a cheetah print sweatshirt, reminded me of a Jeremy Scott design. I’m convinced Jeremy Scott hangs out in Main Street, Flushing Queens and spies on the indie Korean-American boutiques.

YES! Korea is the absolute best place to get perfectly made copies of all the current fashions…they had fake balenciaga bags that looked like they were made from better leather than real ones, lol. And even high end dept stores carry Lanvin imitation lines.

Oh, so it’s the other way around? Korean indie designers are inspired by JS’ Flinstone/cheetah prints line? I swear there is a $72 JS inspired sweatshirt in Flushing with my name on it. One of a kind. Gotta go back and get it… Thanks for the tips on the bootleg market, lol.

hmm, honestly I think if you live closer to Ktown on 32nd street in manhattan you can walk around the general area and see some clothing boutiques (sometimes on the 2nd floor of places). Or Broad Ave. in Palisades Park, NJ has some spots too. In Flushing, there are some on Northern Blvd…but Flushing is a combo of Chinese, Southeast Asian, Indian, Korean and more….so the Korean area of Flushing tends to be split between downtown Flushing by Main St. and then also Northern Blvd but further out, like going towards Bayside. That’s where I see some boutiques. Nothing really comes close to being in Seoul. Which is more flossy and fancy and shoppers paradise. I wonder if there are Korean boutiques that do online shopping to the US?
