Good news, Freddie Gibbs fans: Gangsta Gibbs is dropping a new project called Freddie tonight. The only thing better than the announcement itself is how it was made. In a hilarious video to promote the album, the ESGN rapper spoofs ’80s R&B commercials and teases new songs like “Whippin’ Dope with Tyrone,” “Smokin’ That TKO” and — who could forget? — “Bitch You Better Clean Them Sheets.” We’ll have to wait and see how many of those are actually real songs, but it looks like we can expect a guest appearance from 03 Greedo.

Freddie serves as the follow-up to Gibbs’ 2017 album You Only Live 2wice. His second collaborative album with Madlib, Bandana, is also (hopefully) still on the horizon.

Rae Sremmurd’s SR3MM dropped back in May, a triple album that included debut solo albums by Swae Lee (Swaecation) and Slim Jxmmi (Jxmtro). The Sremm Boys are back with a music video for “Guatemala,” in support of Swayoncé’s project. The beautiful four-minute clip finds Rae Sremmurd enjoying the sights, sounds, women and locals in Guatemala. The visual also represents a somber moment, as it was filmed one month prior to the country’s violent volcanic eruption that killed over 60 people.

After dropping two quietly impressive EPs — Ocean & Montana with KAYTRANADA and Magnolia with Mike & Keyz — in 2017, and spending a number of years before that in limbo as Pharrell’s “protégé,” Buddy is finally set to release his debut album this summer. He’s already warmed us up with the funky “Trouble on Central” and the A$AP Ferg-assisted “Black,” and today he treats us to this new track called “Hey Up There” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and OverDoz.’s Kent Jamz.

The song finds the usually happy-go-lucky Buddy getting more introspective than we’re used to (“I’ve been on my job too long / Damn right I know what I do wrong”), but his reflection still radiates a steely determination that will definitely rub off on you. Plus, it comes complete with a video which finds Buddy getting his helicopter pilot on.

Buddy’s debut album Harlan & Alondra drops July 20 via RCA Records/Cool Lil Company.
