The road to music’s biggest night starts now as the nominations for the 61st annual GRAMMY Awards are revealed. Leading the way for the 2019 GRAMMYs is Kendrick Lamar. Despite not releasing a solo album, the Pulitzer Prize winner landed the most nominations (8) for the Black Panther soundtrack, where he served as lead artist and curator. Lamar is up for “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Best Rap Song.” For “Album of the Year,” Kendrick faces off against Cardi B (Invasion Of Privacy), Drake (Scorpion), H.E.R. (H.E.R.), Post Malone (Beerbongs & Bentleys) and Janelle Monáe (Dirty Computer). Drake follows the TDE MC with seven nods, while Folk singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile earns six nominations making her the most nominated woman at the 2019 Grammys.

Cardi B, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., Lady Gaga, and Maren Morris all follow next with five nominations each. On Friday (Dec. 7), Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, and Apple Music’s Zane Lowe appeared on CBS This Morning to announce the nominees for the four major categories (Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year).

The 2019 GRAMMY Awards will broadcast live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. See the full nominations list in all 84 categories below.

Serving as his only project in 2018, Guwop tapped a quality cast that includes Bruno Mars, Bruno Mars, Kodak Black, Migos, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Metro Boomin, Murda Beatz and more for the album. Along with the new body of work, the Atlanta rapper releases the music video for “Off the Boat.” The Dun Deal-produced intro is now brought to life with a visual, where Gucci enjoys ocean, fine wine, and beautiful women on a lavish yacht. In early November, 21 Savage created a buzz with a cryptic ’12-7-18′ tweet. No details surrounding that date came out until Thursday (Dec. 6), when the Atlanta rapper posted the artwork and name of his new project I Am > I Was. The album, which many thought would arrive on Friday (Dec. 7), drops everywhere on December 21. The announcement comes with a new untitled song from 21 Savage, previewed in the new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11. Premiered at The Game Awards on Thursday, the video game will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Apr. 23, 2019. Kodak Black’s new album Dying to Live drops next Friday (Dec. 14) via Atlantic Records. Earlier this week, the Sniper Gang rapper dropped a music video for “Calling My Spirit.” Kodak is now back a few days later, giving fans a new record to enjoy heading into the weekend. Six months after his tragic death, the estate of the late XXXTENTACION releases Skins. Serving as the first posthumous album from the Florida rapper, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, Skins includes the song “BAD!” which peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Coming in at ten tracks, the album’s only feature comes from Kanye West on the song “One Minute.”

In celebration of the album’s release, the XXXTentacion Foundation and EMPIRE are hosting an album release event at the RC Cola Plant in Miami, FL on Thursday night (Dec. 6). The live concert features performances from DJ Carnage, Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, PnB Rock, Matt OX, London On Da Track, DJ Scheme, Members Only and more. Since 2012, Ice Cube has been teasing his 10th studio album Everythangs Corrupt. Six years later, the West Coast OG finally delivers his new full-length project. Cube’s first album in eight years and the follow-up to 2010’s I Am the West is aggressive, filled with political undertones. The 16-track LP includes songs like “Good Cop, Bad Cop,” “Arrest the President” and “That New Funkadelic.” Focused on lyrical content and its overall message, Ice Cube’s new album features one guest appearance, as fellow West Coast legend Too $hort joins him on “Ain’t Got No Haters.”
