Talk of a new OutKast album has been going on for years now, but with the legendary duo reuniting to play over 40 festival dates in 2014, the prospect looks more hopeful than ever. Also, because Queen Latifah says so. That’s right, during a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Latifah (who used to head up ‘Kast’s former management company Flavor Unit) claims that Big Boi and Andre 3000 are indeed working on a new record. “They’re chilling… They’re doing movies… They’re about to work on a new album,” she said (jump to the 1:01:20 mark).
As Consequence of Sound point out, however, Latifah makes no mention of OutKast’s upcoming tour and Howard soon moved on to another subject before she could share more — if any — information. 3 Stacks has shot down the prospect of a new LP from the Mighty O on numerous occasions, like when he told GQ “there are no plans for another OutKast album,” but that was two years ago, and — who knows? — maybe plans have changed since then.
