Old folks say the darndest things: Morris Day sons Rihanna and hates on Kanye and Prince at the Grammys

Best post-Grammy press room appearance? My vote goes to Morris Day of the Time. Not that I agree with everything he says, but its just refreshing to see an old head, a classic character, who doesn’t care about being down with anyone. In this MTV interview with Morris, I get the feeling that the singer’s irritated he has to answer any questions about anything/anyone other than himself, haha…
Here’s what he said about Rihanna:
[Morris Day] had a less flattering — although sympathetic — comment about [Rihanna's] onstage pouting: “When the groove hits you, you get ugly for a minute. It’s like you broke wind.”
……then [Day] talked about how some of today’s artists measure up.
“I don’t see Kanye as being cool — very talented, but not cool.”
Chris Brown? “He’s very hyper, but talented. Give him about 10 years and we’ll see. There are some cool people out there. I think Snoop is cool. Puffy’s cool. It’s embodiment — it’s gotta be in you. I’m so cool that even when I’m sweating, it’s a cold sweat.”
Ha! “When the groove hits you, you get ugly for a minute. Its like you broke wind.” That shit is fly, lol.
And, of course, for Morris Day, a party ain’t a party unless Prince gets a sharp elbow in the ribs….
When asked if he spoke with longtime friend and foil Prince backstage, Day answered, “I asked him, ‘How’s the family?’ … He didn’t say nothing.”…
Asked if he was going to kick it with Prince backstage, he replied: “Am I interested in kicking him backstage?”
priceless.
Here’s Diva Day and the Time performing at the Grammy’s with Rihanna…..hmmm, the Grammys seem to be taking notes from the VH1 Hip Hop Honors show.

Morris Day was just happy because it was the first time in 15 years anyone cared to interview him about what he thinks. Mother fucker hasn’t has a hit since 1987, but Jungle Love was the shit.

Morris Day will forever be on some fly shit. He was the man back in the Purple Rain days and he’s still got it. There’s nothing like some good old fashioned honesty to put all these young-ins in their place. The Time is the shit.
I personally don’t give a rat’s ass about the Grammys so I didn’t watch. But, I’m curious, what was Morris Day talking about with Rihanna? I didn’t catch any pouting on that performance video w/ the Time.
