No more waiting for The Wire!

uhhh, I’m watching the season opener now. And yes, its awesome. I’m a little confused about some of the plot developments but its sure beats having to watch any more Family Guy re-runs.
I’ll never understand why HBO puts new episodes of The Wire on their HBO On Demand channel before they even debut on the air…..it just seems so anti-climactic. The opening episode of the final season of The Wire”Read Between the Lines” has been available On Demand since Monday, and I had no idea until Dunny told me today. But I damn sure wasnt gonna wait til this Sunday to watch, lol.
Bunk is still the man. McNulty is a mess. Marlo still fascinating. Carcetti is doomed…..(but that new theme song sucks.)
(ps: big up to actor David Costabile. I just noticed he’s on the Wire too, as managing editor of the Baltimore Sun. Very nice, hilarious guy. He’s on the Golden Globes-nominated show Damages.)

@ 110th street…..did you ever watch The Corner…same guys as Wire but even more heartbreaking and….based on real people. When they brought those real people out at the end, I cried. But yes, I cannot wait for Lost. Wonder if anyone knows where I can download the old seasons online?

The Corner was great, but The Wire has some nice lighthearted moments that can keep me watching season after season.
Michael kinda looked like a punk when he was trying to confront Spider about the count.

@aGe, yeah I was a bit confused by that part. What did Duke do wrong? Why did he get relegated to nanny-duty? Also, what is that white cop doing with the drug dealer lawyer? That lost me too..

Yeah I can’t wait for the final season, I’m in the UK so I’ll have to download them because I can’t wait for it to come over here. Plus I wanna hear Senator Clay Davis say “SHEEEEEEEEIT” lol always makes me laugh. Also watching The Wire – The Last Word Season 5 special made me more eager to watch it!

Miss: Duke doesn’t belong on the corner and he’s making Michael look bad.
Herk, the white cop, has been fired from the BPD since last season. He’s working for Levy, drug lawyer, and others as a private investigator I believe.
And frankly, I’m shocked that a highly educated, successful and stunningly beautiful woman like yourself couldn’t pick up on what’s happening on one of her ‘favourite’ shows. Just kiddin, I’m a Wire fanatic!
Cheers.

@ aGe…haha! how mean! the reverse compliment!
ok, what I meant was….obviously Duke is too soft for the corner, but what exactly did he do wrong in that specific instance? Why wouldnt the cornerboy give him the correct count?
As for Herk, I remember when he got fired for roughing up the pastor, and losing the camera etc….but when did he start working for the drugdealer lawyer? I totally missed when that happened? And why does he not care that he’s working for Stringer Bell and Avon’s lawyer? That seems like a stretch.
And while we’re at it, what the hell does that Russian guy in jail have to do with Chris, Snoop and Marlo? I totally forgot his storyline.

miss: Your lucky I’m sick in bed and have nothing better to do.
First, Duke didn’t ‘do’ anything wrong per say, peoples just don’t like him. They be punking him just out of sheer boredom I guess.
Herk is the biggest meathead on the BPD. He couldn’t even remember Avon’s name, and I don’t remember a scene where Levy and Herk meet.
The Russian guy, Serge (aka Boris), is from Season 2. He worked for ‘the Greek’ as a truck driver and muscle until he was caught up in the murders of the men responsible for the dead hookers in the can.
What does he have to do with Marlo and Co? He could end up hooking up Marlo with a new direct connection, and therefore bypass Prop Joe and the Co-op.
and please pass that link to episode 2 if you can!! I need something besides old Dexter reruns.
