The countdown has begun! Nicki Minaj has a hectic schedule ahead of her and the cameras come along for the ride in “Nicki Minaj: The Truth,” her new reality series on the E! network. In the debut episode aired on Sunday night, Nicki puts the final touches on her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up album, before heading to New York City for Day 1 of American Idol auditions and the launch of her Pink Friday fragrance.

We watch Young Money’s first lady record her new single “Freedom,” and explain the meaning behind the reflective melodic song. After wrapping up in her Malibu, Ca studios, it’s crunch time to find an outfit for Idol which doesn’t go smoothly. After quick appearances on The View, and a meet-and-greet at Macy’s for her perfume launch, it’s back to California to film the video for “The Boys” with Cassie. An artist that demands perfection and takes no nonsense, Nicki faces a few hurdles as she preps for her first ever arena world tour.
