New York State Senator Demands Lil Wayne Apology: He Insulted Frank Sinatra and Jay-Z! (Video)
Posted by Miss Info under videos[51] Comments
The Lil Wayne witchhunt is happening. They’re building a pire in Times Square and when the proud Gothamites catch him, he’s gonna have to face a citizens’ jury just like that scene in Dark Knight Rises.
How dare you not love New York?!? Haven’t you read our plastic bags? Don’t you know that New York birthed Hip Hop? Have you tasted our tap water? Do you follow El Bloombito?
(Is it ok to remove some rotten tomatoes from the composting station in Park Slope?…because I need something to throw at Weezy when the angry mob catches him.)
Ok seriously…I know folks are mad because Lil Wayne told MTV that he “flat out, doesn’t like New York.” But he has had some trying experiences here (i.e., that Rikers Island jail bid), and he imagines that folks don’t like him here (even though his appearances are always jampacked), and he thinks something might have happened at SummerJam (but he can’t quite recall what). Now Weezy is totally entitled to that opinion, but obviously it’s not NYC’s fault that he got caught with a burner in 2009.
But how serious can I be when we have a New York State Senator (Malcolm Smith) holding a press conferences in Times Square, demanding that Lil Wayne apologize because:
“He should also know anecdotally or not, he’s insulted the memory of Frank Sinatra. And he’s also insulted Jay-Z. Both have made endearing songs about New York.“
This is going way left…and I love it.

Relax New York purist. Not everyone is from N.Y. and have some royal affinity for it. Weezy owes nothing to New York and has no particular reason to hold it in some sort of grand esteem. Dude is from New Orleans, Louisiana CHILL OUT people. Its also just his opinion which he is entitled too. Its depressing that New York State Senator Malcom Smith doesn’t have anything else better to do than commit on a 2min interview on an MTV clip..I mean REALLY??. Oh yea New York, they’re other places in the world besides you, but guys won’t admit it..fair enough..ha

now you getting disrespectful…but over a internet connection most people are…but on the to viable portion of the statement you made…those pioneers you named are a result of New York City…shit his beef is the NYPD…we hate the NYPD…But we also know the mandatory minimum for a unregistered hand gun is 1year with and additional year for every shell in the magazine or spindle. And most states he would have been arrested on the same charge….Fuck You and Lil wayne…thats for you internet thug bitches….

@OrganizedGrind: Dude, who cares about all that birth of hip hop stuff!!! We’re all entitled to opinions! I’m almost certain he doesnt mean you and I. You cant overlook the fact that he’s had fucked up experiences here. You know NYPD sux! So, why if he says it as a non-New Yorker you have a problem with it?

@the ronald — How did you get that out of my comment??? I’m saying the same thing you said jack… lol
People are taking wayne’s statement as if he is saying something bad about hip hop… which he’s not, he merely said he doesn’t like NY. Thats it.
My point to the idiot above that i initially replied to was just that.
@bigcebo basically said if it wasn’t for NY (the birth of hip hop) wayne would be hustling or shrimping in the swamps – - Do you get what he is saying? Let me spell it out to you ronald —
HE was saying without ny wayne wouldn’t be a successful rapper… he’d be struggling in new orleans somewhere….
My comment to that idiot was this… wayne didn’t diss hip hop, he didn’t diss kurtis blow… he merely stated his opinion of a city he doesn’t like.
Is that clear for you @the ronald ???
Smh.

Not only that, in this case, he would seem to have a 100% legit reason for not liking it. They put him in prison for months… for a gun sitting on a tour bus. I would be pissed too. Most states wouldn’t give a shit about it.

Who cares??? Lil wayne drops another song and everyone goes crazy… Watch all this will be forgotten. An apology means nothing. NY RADIO stations need to stop playing his music altogether. Teach him a lesson. Watch drake jump in and defend his boss. And nikki also gonna support her boss, regardless he doesnt like her hometown…
