New Video: Timbaland feat. Drake “Say Something”
Posted by Miss Info under for fashion-hounds and obsessive consumers , new music , videos[33] Comments
I love this song….the video is shockingly boring tho. I like the girl’s makeup, dark eyes, highlighted undereyes, buffed out foundation, matte petal lips. But that is all.
still love this song tho…looking forward to the un-chopped-off non-BET version. (thanks Dre/Nahright!)

Ok so… Is it just me or is Drake the new rapping relationship guru? All his tracks seem to be about woman and relationships…
Is he the new Todd Smith?
And why wasn’t singing and rapping ok when Nas bought out that dude Quan? was he just not that talented because he played the piano as well.. Or was he just too dark?
Can wait to hear this Drake CD!!
And I hope this Timbo cut inspires Dre to do detox but then again what can dre produce to stop the world? Detox at best in this climate would be a treat for purest no matter how big the first single is…

Your right
Why Wasn’t it socially expectable for Quan ? That is disturbing smh
Especially seeing as everything he was on was hot. I’d hate to think it was because of skin complexion.

respecting yaw points here but look bottom line its like this it wasnt about this brotha skin…it was his label n his ceo at the time: Nas n Ill Will Records! lol…
luv Nas…as an artist n a legend but he sucked as a ceo…had quan been aligned with the right people (i.e. drake’s affiliation with bridman n wayne of course) IMMEDIATELY after that hot ass song came out with Nas, he’da been bigger! also i remember he’d gotten in to some legal situation, then no music being put out, and the other labels that were interested or were indeed working with him, failed him…then his buzz was in the shitter, period! he prob back in bad news right now on the muthafukin’ block for all i know!
Also one more thing, not to knock him but he wasnt AS lyrically inclined as Drake was truth be told, n before you go knocking what i just said…remember this bar “folkin n loc’in, crippin n creepin, latin n kingin’…”
he forced the hell outta that line to the point it was senseless…i get what you saying but cmon “latin n kingin”???

@Big
Kanye’s continuous success has much to do with the acceptance of crossover hip hop trends.
When Quan tried it,he did it from a street perspective.Kanye,Cudi,Drake and the likes never claim to be streets.Emo rap has been on the come up for some time now.I recently saw a GQ cover with Drake,Wale and Cudi titled:Gangsta Rap Killers. It’s a shame that Drakes mixtape, which had been free for months sold about as much as or more to Rae,Ghost&Slaughter House.
At this rate 4get about Detox.Drake is likely to go plat in his first week.Kid is talented can’t front on anyone who gets writing credits on Alicia Keys album.

Hip Hop is in a very weird but ok space I think.. Its sad I’m almost 30 (damn cant believe I said that out loud) and the music I grew up loving looks nothing like what I grew up loving.. Sorta like how the old folks hate rock & roll because they grew up on jazz and blues..
I think 50 Cent is right when he says that people are no longer making a culture follow them anymore and instead they are finding a culture or demographic to cater their music and style to and around which is sad. Because to me hip hop has always been about self expression and making a statement about who you are and where you come from not finding a segment of the population and creating ways to keep their attention.. Which is what it seems Kanye, Drak, Wayne, Jay Z and others are doing…
Emo rap is getting out of control but I dont think its hurting hip hop.. I’m getting old and hip hop is changing and the biggest beneficiaries of this transition seem to be Cash Money Records! Unless the public say GTFOH and when you see little girls go nuts for Nicki Minaj odds are thasts not gonna happen…
And the music wont be trash but it also wont be very complex either.. It will be basic shit of amazing production! Like Jay Z last album you walked away saying that was a pretty good cd but upon second and third listen the overall content level scored very low.. If thats Jay Z legacy then from the standpoint of overall quality its not a good one but as far as crossover commercial pop revenue success its going to be prolific.
Maybe Gangster rap is dead.. Does this mean that dude from the gutter who cant play ball will now be unable to capture the worlds attention with his ability to write his life or things he was exposed to so poetically and clear that you want to tell your friends about him and labels want to sign him. Sorta like Nas when he dropped illmatic… See, change is fine but its poisonous when it takes away an opportunity from someone else.. And I think for the next 10yrs hip hop will be looking for the next Jewish Canadian like drake or package that style in a disney sorat way.. Drake is the ultimate Aaron Carter!
God Bless Hip Hop… I used to love her…. And good luck to these kids doing their thing… But it seems they have no respect for those who came before them because if they did there would be some reflection of it in their music.. And Lil Wayne’s Rebirth is looking like a complete auto-tune album..But no one will give a shit because he can barely talk as it is…

Why Drake is popular and Quan wasnt well to sound politically incorrect . Drake is a jew and he has LiL Wayne backing him up . He is all over with the videos and tracks just like wayne did . Miss Info you are going to take off my comment but lets be real there are so many other talented rappers out there . Drake being a Jew helps a lot ..BTW Im jewish Im just keeping it real Shalom sorry for anyone of you all who going to hate

Actor. That’s all I see.And I’ve genuinely tried to get into him. I mean I never had 1 guy tell me yo go check Drake. It always females saying “Hey, you know that Drake guy? He sings and raps.”
I don’t expect him to bring the energy or passion of a younger DMX but the guy seems too polished, too cool for school and I guess I like a lil grit and grime with my hip hop.

I agree, he ACTS like an emcee, but I just can’t see it young for real..to quote Buckshot, “if it ain’t real on the mic, I can’t feel it”
and yeah they hand out “celebrity” status like skittles these days….it holds no real value for alot of these so called famous folk.

Agree video is boring song is pretty good I’m copping Shock Value because Timbo always comes through with consistent work.

I think the video is boring to you because of a few things
1) The editing is not ‘quick-cut’ style. The shots hang on for quite a bit longer than the average music video I’ve seen in a while.
2) Most importantly, this video is very low budget. There is not much variety in the different locations and they all kinda look the same. I notice that everything is like gold/beige in the video. Dude is in a restaurant with gold/beige cloth, then cut to couch that is gold/beige, etc. The colors blend together and don’t stand out. Hence, dullness.
Add that to a song that is already slow to begin with, and you get yawnage

He Is Not Bad, But Very Forgettable. When TI, Ludacris and Kanye.. ect Started Out…..They Could Not Be Ignored Because Their Charisma And Raw Energy Was Front & Center. Drake Is A Pre-Madonna. He Thinks He Is Already On Jay-z and Kanyes Level. I For One Am Not Checking For Him.

Drake has yet to star in a great video, he has an amazing buzz and he’s talented but he makes poor choices when it comes to his image. From the video he allowed Kanye to turn into a fetish film that almost couldn’t get played on tv to even him signing to YM. I’ve been a fan since 07′ and I don’t wanna see the homie look so damn lame.

Alicia Keys does good videos so I’m sure when she drops a video for Unthinkable feat. Drake it would be 10 times better than this one.

Goodness that girl is fly! She has a girl next door that got dressed semi-flashy/classy look to her.
What do you get when you figure out the sum of this equation: Kanye+Wayne+Fresh Prince+LL= Aubrey “Drake” Graham. Who is always more Aubrey than “Drake” when he’s in front of a camera it seems.
Oh well. Song’s nice. Girls hot. Timbo’s album on my wish list.

Drake is so over-saturated at this point it would have been a relief even to hear Magoo on that track instead.

I wish ppl would hop off the kid’s back.
Could it be that he works hella hard and is linked to a label that believes in him? plus he doesnt have a rap sheet. Quan did things, plus his label was lazy and didnt believe he would make it.
Get over that and give Drake his due, i mean 2 Grammy noms with a mixtape buzz..rappers need to befriend him and beg for the formula.. just sayin…he worked for it, so hop off and let Drake be great
Love this song, video..ehh.. not so much
