New Video: Rihanna “Russian Roulette” (dir. Anthony Mandler)

I watched this in the Diptyque “Baies”-scented office of DefJam big tuna L.A. Reid, along with my girl Yvette Davila and MTV’s Tuma,…and I was floored. A great video makes you like a song more, but I didn’t even really like this song…until I saw this clip. Loved “The Cell” x “Matrix” feel. Plus that hot new guy from Grey’s Anatomy ; ) And of course, Rihanna looks incredible. The director’s cut that we watched was only different because it included a little more cleavage, and a glimpse of the male lead actually raising the gun in hand at the end.

I am convinced Def Jam pays bloggers to say nice things about this girl. The video sucks and so does the song. Her “attempt” at being deep. Blah, she is a pop artist who is known for getting her ass beat by Chris and changing clothes and go.. God knows this will be horrendous live

And we all know that the only thing good about “The Cell” were the visuals and creative settings …and maybe some of J.Lo’s outfits.
Anyway, I LOVE the underwater scenes too.
I liked the song already and the vid works very well.

gaga’s gay-advocacy doesnt bother me because I’m not gay and not threatened by or opposed to gayness in others. Also, her stance isn’t secretive or deceitful. She says it loud and clear. So, I don’t feel like I’m being swindled.

A good part of my research’s do come from you tube … but thats not where it starts nor will it end.
My references ARE from people with credentials and insiders. who do you consider people with credentials any way … huh ??
If im bringing this up to info is because id like to see if she believes. And if she doesnt, im more interested to know how she will respond & shut it down.
I realize debating this topic is like questioning the existence of god …

Perfect! that video was absolutely perfect. I swear the guys in hip-hop and RnB need to start taking notes from the ladies Rihanna, Beyonce Ms. Keys this is how you do a video cool concepts cool imagery you want your video to get noticed try some creativity people cause a club scene with some vide-hoes and some bottles of whatever with cash flying around the room just isn’t gonna cut it anymore. Beyonce set the bar high and showed what a great video can do to push a not so stellar song like single ladies that shit became a sensation. Now I’m not crazy about this Rihanna song but like Bey did this awesome video will def help it grow on me.

Never really thought about it that way but you’re right about the single ladies video pushing a arguably mediocre dance song to be the hit it was. Although she too should of thanked God and Gays for that cause all the youtube gayfan versions played a big part also.
Don’t know about the rest, though Akeys? Really? And Bey only gets it for Single Ladies.

The video is not horrible, it isnt fantastic either. It definitely is an outfit though, because I didn’t like this or any of the new songs at all. Together they make it better.
This is overly dramatic, the guy is hot, Rihanna’s hot.
But unlike Lady Gaga this is drama, and depth without purpose, and without character. It seems she is doing this for shock value, not real meaning.
And it also seems as though she is using what happened to her to her advantage (which is good), but it seems she’s milking it.
I wonder what her next album would sound like, will Rihanna still be making music directly related to the aftermath of being abused?

I m sad for my people bro. People know nothing about the Bible anymore. If they did then they would be able to see that what Tiffany says is true. These artisit’s are selling out or selling their soul for the riches of the world. If you believe in the Bible and Jesus Christ then you should believe this is possible because the Bible speaks of it happening. In the Bible the Devil even tempted Jesus with the riches and kingdoms of the world, if Jesus would only bow down and worship him (Luke 4:5) .
Now if he can tempt Jesus with that, why dont you think that he would try it with men??? The servant is not greater than the master…..we will go through the same temptations and tribulations that Jesus did. It also says that the Devil is the “prince and power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2). and that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities (princes,kings,governments), against powers, against the RULERS of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in HIGH places (ephesians 6:12). Meaning that we are not fighting against people like Rhianna…we are fighting the demonic spirits that are influencing them. Yea she probably is conscious of what she is doing and thats something she will have to deal with at judgement day (which is scary and I pray for her) but the real enemy is Satan.
Now some people may say that even “if the artist is doing this it doesnt mean anything because the artist doesnt really believe what they are singing about and its their job”… and that they are just doing it for the money. Well thats ridiculous. Everybody knows that selling out is just that!! Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver and caused Jesus to be killed.(Luke 21:37) Well these artists are also betraying Jesus because the words that they are saying are leading people straight to hell. In the Bible it says ”for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, but lose his soul” Mark 8:36) meaning even if you have all the money in the world…all the fame and glory.. all the women… land etc.. even if you haaave all of that. what will it mean to you after death if you go to hell??? NOTHING !!!!
God describes our life span as a “vapor” because its here and gone like that. After we die then where ever we go we will spend eternity!! It also says tht it is easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to make it into the Kingdom of heaven” (Mark 10:25) this means that the more money you have the harder it is to get to God because it is such a distraction AND because of the things we have to do to obtain wealth…its a dirty game at the top.
Getting back to the subject …yes Rhianna is on some evil stuff..watch her video “Disturbia” etc. she is not the only one… here are some examples. listen to jayz-d’evils (reasonable doubt), watch “run this town”….listen to DMX “Let me Fly”–(second verse), google the “Truth about hip hop”, google “they sold their soul for rock and roll”. go to vigilantcitizen.com… ,youtube “illuminati in hip hop” youtube “beyonce posession “….there are so many examples of how evil the industry is.
