Here’s the second cut of Fabolous’ “Y’all Don’t Hear Me Tho”, this time with an appearance from Red Cafe. While the first version was filmed at the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, the follow up is captured at staple boutique Vinnie Styles in downtown BK. You can download Loso’s The S.O.U.L. Tape here.

I have always appreciated FAB for some reason. I guess it is just because he looks like a super cool guy AND not the hyped up version of what must rappers try to be. There is some degree of authenticity to what he does. That’s why I have always like his Mixtape and Bside stuff.
I feel that he falls shots on studio albums because he feels the needs, or his handlers do, to make Ladies friendly songs. Consequently he falls shorts because these songs often don’t come thru as authentic.
You be killing them, is the only exception. And it worked because it had a gritty feel to it. If it had been a studio album, I guarantee that song would had been over produced.
I do feel that he has found his voice and the best of cam is yet to come. Unless, he feel tempted again.
He would always get point from me for to trying to milk the fact that he got shot.

good point his album cuts are always over produced because of the targeting you’re correct. Most his mixtapes sound better than his album

Fab fails in the album arena to me because he tries to immulate mason betha, with the lady friendly tracks, because women buy albums. The difference between fab and mase, and how mase managed to go triple platinum off those songs and he didn’t, is mase didn’t make it so lady friendly that excluded his male fan base. Also Fab is a punch liner, and after a few listens, they dont sound as exciting, because you know what he gonna say, it doesn’t have the longevity as a well designed parable or thought. It’s hard to explain but I would compare it to a comedian that gets up and say’s one liner “mama jokes” and a comedian that says a story so true its funny. That’s fab vs. mase.

I can see where that comes from…but I think its moer a bklyn thing then a Jay thing. However I still say he immualtes “murda mase” with the black on, changing his name to “funeral fab” and the way he makes his hooks and his tone when he flows.
