After watching this video the only thought that came to mind was that the girl thats sings the hook wasnt in the video or shown during their performance at the Grammy’s…
Other than that the video was meh…

Really? Is that not her floating around in the white? Was that not her singing the hook onstage at the Grammy’s?

this video is silly as hell – mostly because of the fact it takes itself wayyy too seriously. Em’s acting is completely over-the-top (not entirely his fault as the director didn’t give him much to do) and the story arc makes no sense whatsoever.
what was the “vision” for this thing? “I’m Dr. Dre. Feel sorry for me because I wrecked my รผber expensive sports car and have been recovering from a coma for 10 years in some wacko underground lab tended to by incompetent doctors – oh and eminem.”
sorry, but it’s just too pretentious and self-important for me to give a damn.
the driving force (and genius) behind the song is that it’s been dre holding himself back from being great again – not some freak accident. it’s that his own demons and his own self-doubt have been his biggest enemy. the song isn’t just another tribute to dre – it’s a plea for him to recognize his own self worth. that’s the beauty of it (in my humble opinion). this video doesn’t really express that idea.

the song is weak, but the video definitely makes it sillier.
agree on your points.

Google the name Holly Brook … that’s her.

Really? This is what we waited for. Real talk. I stop caring about detox a long time ago.

look up holly brook and you wil find pics of skylar grey
Holly Brook Hafermann (born February 23, 1986), better known by her stage name Skylar Grey (formerly Holly Brook), is a Grammy-Award nominated American multi-instrumental singer, songwriter and record producer. Grey was signed to Machine Shop Recordings and performed on “Where’d You Go” by Fort Minor under the name Holly Brook. She released her debut album Like Blood Like Honey in 2006. That was a mouth full. I think you took the video way too seriously. It’s entertainment, kickback and enjoy the ride.

Dre has got to lay off those steroids. Old person+wrinkly face+giant muscles=gross.

i liked the video, especially the flashbacks but can you say PRODUCT PLACEMENT! damn son. gatortade, gshocks, rebook, lambo and HP gadgets. smh at that shit.
February 25th, 2011 at 12:56 pm
I noticed that too. During the Grammy Performance her face remained meticulously shadowed. Maybe someone is prepping this chick to take over the game but they’re not ready to present her visually just yet. The music game is so fuckin weird these days.

You’re taking the car crash literally. I believe the accident/coma is meant to be a metaphor for Dre hiatus. When you watch the video from a metaphorical perspective, it makes a little more sense.
February 25th, 2011 at 1:58 pm
I wish they’d really tone down the product placements. It’d make it seem less like a commercial and more like an actual music video.
The video itself confused me, mostly because of Dre’s verse. The majority of it has to do with Em and Dre being bffs but the majority of his ‘visions’ show Eazy E and at the end he even visits his grave. Did I miss that part in the song?

Horrible.

๐ not looking forward to detox anymore.
when did eminem lose his sence of humor?
when did dr dre stop making gangter classics?
all the tracks off detox ive heard are corny as hell.
eminem is hailed as one of the best lyrisits, shame theres not realy any rythm or flow, just disjointed cheese/ fake anger, and dre reading off the words eminem giving him sounds shite! really bad.
me v sad.

THis vid was pretty coo, but Dr. Dre is pretty much done

I had tears in my eyes. A fantastic music video. I loved the beginning showing Dre reminiscing. This man has been there throughout the last twenty or so years and watched people around him die.
Dre is looking well too. He’s in very good shape and probably has a better physique than most 20 year olds.
