New Video: Diddy x Dirty Money “Angels”
Posted by Miss Info under life beyond rap , new music , videos[45] Comments
The Hype Williams-directed video for the debut single off Diddy’s upcoming Last Train to Paris album, featuring his new group Dirty Money (featuring Dawn Richards from Danity Kane). The album is said to have alot of autotune, dance, electro on it….and you can hear the Kanye 808’s influence on this song.
After the jump….Diddy bumrushes Vogue offices and asked Anna the Wintour about tomorrow’s Fashion’s Night Out (I’m gonna go stop by the Billionaire Boys Club store to see Pharrell manning the cash register)…
(thanks to Sedmos for the tip)

So you take a beat from a classic song, then take a portion of a classic verse and put them together with someone who sings over it using autotune, even though the whole world knows he cant sing a lick. This is what hiphop has come to? This is whats “hot” now?? In my opinion, its disgusting. Whats “hot” continues to surpass talent nowadays, and thats sad.

Sampling other music and adding to it accounts for like 70% of hip hop beats I feel like..
Also Diddy was known to be taking vocal lessons for a while, he clearly not AMAZING but he better than Kanye which warrants the allowing of him singing..
and I also dont think theres anything wrong with using a classic verse section that applies perfectly to the meaning of the song especially from one of his biggest influences in his career and life.

Wow I love that old Jay-Z beat I swear that Vol. 1 album was one “Sunshine” and “I Know What Girls Like” less from being another classic just alittle editing ya know anyway I’m also bothered by the recycled lyrics and beat.

nothing about this diddy album/song seems natural, too much production, too much thought

Miss Info. . . the second link doesn’t work, it says it’s private
I can’t decide if like the video or not… I think I like that Diddy is doing something different. But not much of this song is a product of himself it seems. I guess if you have the MEANS to do something, why not go for it right? He doesn’t have to be able to sing…

LOL – Miss Info is shilling for the man.
Diddy’s thought process: “Biggie, Jay-Z & Kanye – how can it not be a hit?”
Wait – not only a recycled Biggie verse but the same recycled Biggie verse twice? How much Ciroc do you have to drink before anything about this song makes sense?

NSFW. I just blasted Mango Madness Snapple outta my nose unto a staff keyboard while watching this.
Is that a Sgt. Pepper jacket in the Ciroc ad?

Ummm…I thought Dirty Money was a group,he showed Dawn and Kaleena, twice…for 5 seconds total….is he serious? I mean, he showed his “love interest” (who ca-learly reminds you of Cassie) more than them. I’m annoyed. I was trying to be on board this whole DM thing…but if this is just another one of his usual attempts to self promote, I’m getting off the train.

Very Artistic. It does use auto-tune and a Kanye template …however its is good and I watched the whole thing. Great cinematography..Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

Yeah he’s a great businessman. I think buying a better beat would’ve sufficed. Actually buying a guest appearance instead of the Big verse would’ve worked out. A different song in general would’ve been the best investment

Ya know what I don’t know if its the recycling of one of my fav Jay beats or one of my fav BIG verses or just a really well done auto-tune job lets face it people that is a really good auto-tuning as much as I’m bothered by this I can’t deny its kinda good I like it I’ll never admit it in public but when no ones around I’ll play it and sing along so for now I’m calling Dirty Money and “Angels” a guilty pleasure I don’t know what kind of singing experience Diddy really has but he sounds like he can sing when I know he can’t LOL, He out auto-tuned Kanye he sounds better then Ye does LOL. Yo Diddy lets here ya do alittle bit of heartless only put it to the beat of one more chance and take an old verse from Jay-Z perhaps girls girls girls see what happens LOL

I know people think that this song is not “natural” or whatever, but if you really think about it, for Diddy, it is. It’s pretty much what he does… he’s the king of the swagger-jackers. IMHO, if you judge the song based on that fact, and accepting it for what it is, it ain’t half bad. It appears that he actually can sing a whole lot better than Kanye. On “808’s” the autotune could not cover up the fact that he was out of his vocal range in certain instances and he was trying for notes he couldn’t hit (remember, he re-did “Love Lockdown” after it leaked). All in all, “Last Train to Paris” could turn out to be a pretty good album. I didn’t hate “Press Play” and I might not hate this one, either.

“NY RICH Says: All that gay shit”
False advertising. You’re not rich, you’re just a poor homophobe.
I love the song. It’s hot. I’ve had it on repeat for about a day. LOVE IT!!!!!
Now, can someone tell me what Jay-Z beat this is? Thnx.

All the cats who I previously looked at as ICONS who were working their way towards being LEGENDS keep dirtying up my memory with bullshit. Jay should have went out on top with the Black Album and Puff should have chilled on the music a long time ago. To come back and do a Autotune filled album after Kanye has done it (and a terrible job he did) is just wack.

Would have been hot during the auto tune era when Kanye release 808 and t-pain was killing the billboard charts .
