The self-proclaimed Renaissance Man, MeLo-X, lives up to his name on his new single, “GOD MAGIC.” The eccentric Brooklyn producer/MC combines vintage boom bap with stabbing, spacey synths on the track, which serves as the first offering from his forthcoming solo EP, GOD:LoFi. Heads should recognize the sample of Monty Alexander’s “Love & Happiness,” which was also used on Joey Bada$$’s (who MeLo conveniently collaborated with for “Live From East Flatbush” last year) “Righteous Minds.”
