Following the debut of her new single with Drake, The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul sets the evening off with the Rick Ross-assisted “Why.” Last month, Mary J. Blige spoke to XXL about the collaboration with Rick Ross, which they recorded in the Los Angeles based studio of the late Marvin Gaye.

“It’s a private studio that one of our friends, he was really close to Michael Jackson, he let us use it. It’s actually Marvin Gaye’s studio. It [has] murals of Michael Jackson all over the [walls], and Marvin Gaye. That was the last place [Michael] actually worked at before he passed. It’s such a good vibe.  Rick Ross is beautiful, I just love him. So much respect to Rick Ross; he’s the truth. [He’s] such a gentleman [and] open and honest. [He’s] super talented and a G. He’s amazing; a really good person, and a lot of fun.”
