man, her voice was (is?) so perfect sounding…and she could spit like no other. It was an amazing combintion. It was like she was a beautiful, soulful, content-filled version of drake, except she had ill lyrics and a good singing voice.

I’m so glad this was released right now because I was recently disgusted to read that Irv Gotti was saying that Nicki Minaj is as talented as Lauren Hill. Aside from the fact that Nicki doesn’t even have a body of work that would justify such a comparison I feel that a statement like that diminishes not only Lauren Hill’s talents but her place in Hip Hop’s history books. Lauren Hill’s contributions as a rapper, singer, actress and overall entertainer should not be minimized by comparing her to an artist who has yet to even release her first album.
Lauren Hill was the real deal, from her hair, to her body, to the issues she tackled in her rhymes. In my opinion there is no way Nicki Minaj will ever live up to that. It’s inevitable that impressionable young fans will see their favorite artists as role models and who would you rather your daughter emulate a 100% real, classy woman such as Lauren Hill or Nicki Minaj?

L boogie is in my top 5 hip hop artists of all time. Iam a hard core hip hop fan too, not this bubble gum/ commercial rap people spot nowadays. L boogz, az, big pun, jayz, big l and biggie…. Her lyrics were real dope…. The score and miseducation are my two favorite albums….. It kills me that she don’t make musk like that anymore, bc she was one of the few that had commercial success but still kept it lyrical and conscious…. Every song had a meaning… My sister name her son zion bc she was struggling with decidin to keep he baby or not…. And lauryns song helped her decide to keep the baby…. Kanye said it best. Though: “lauryn said her heart was Zion/ I wish her heart was still in rhyming”…. We miss u L!!

Love the song, but I had my heart broken once before by her much hyped ‘comeback.’
No disrespect to a sound sister, but I’m not holding my breath on this one, I think we need to give her the space and less pressure so she can come back on top form – but be natural about it.
I think the one thing we all loved about Ms.Hill’s hustle was how real and raw she was, so hope she doesn’t feel too much pressure to deliver – just be you sister and we’ll all be ready to welcome you back to the fam with open arms.
We missed ya.
