New Music: Jay-Z “Reminder” (produced by Timbaland)
Posted by Miss Info under new music[84] Comments
Two BP3 leaks in two days? Maybe this is all an elaborate promo plan…Both produced by Timbaland….the beat almost sounds Dre-like, with the thumping and the synth-voice chorus.
Do you like this one better than yesterday’s “Off That”?
Jay-Z “Reminder” (Produced by Timbaland)
(props to the mighty NMC of course)
Note: lol @ Eskay’s quote from the song….“All bloggers with comments, please, I come in peace…”

C’mon Jay just ordered the death of Autotune and this is what’s meant to be the replacement? No! jockin’ Jay-Z with this last 2 tracks, trust me.
I’d rather hear some autotune than listen to “Off That”, Drake bores me
BP3 is goin to be a solid album no doubt, but my expections are slightly lower, however I do believe Jay will pull it off in the end and deliver something great theres still 13 more tracks to chose from.
Run this town is dope, You can call me Cesar/In a dark Czar/Please follow the leader…….

much better than that drake sh*t….i give it a strong 7.5 out of 10.
timbo is stealing dre’s whole aura on this 1….but Dre has influenced so many ppl that u can’t directly fault timbo.
I dunno…this BP3 album sounds like its gonna be all over the place musically. BP1 was classic & all songs fit in the right mood even though no 2 tracks sounded the same. BP2 was all over the place and we see which 1 ppl always favor.
lyrics tight, track tight. Jay saying a lot of good Sh*t….hook weak.

i’m not really feeling this… this song won’t really help the album to become a classic and to to live up to the 1st and 2nd “Blueprint” series..but i do like that 3rd verse as i was typing my opinion i think imma give the this song a 2nd listen to.

I hate how Jay-Z is trying to be like the hiphop version of Coldplay, U2, The Killers rapping over these experimental robotic sounding tracks and trying to dress like them. He needs to quit. This is the man who made fucking “Big Pimpin” and shit like that. Why does he think he can get on that level? Retire. I’m tired of this bull.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Jay-Z needs stop following these white people, and stick to his Big Pimpin and ghetto pop song formula. He’s trying to be someone he’s not.
Same thing goes with Kanye, but Kanye is at least doing a better job of pretending then this guy is doing.

That’s some real closed mind shit right there so let me get this straight Gawdess U2 and Cold Play and the Killers are white so they can be experimental and creative thats ok but Jay-Z’s a nigga so he has to be big pimpin and ghetto yep got it your a fucking genius how could we have missed it LOL. Wake up hommie there’s a black man in the the big chair in the white house and a white lady besides him and a Puerto Rican running the nations courts now so think all the former stereotypical racial roles don’t have to apply anymore its closed minded thinking like yours that has minorities playing the limited roles in life that they think there stuck in because that’s what’s expected of there race dont apply anymore. So if Jay was a mexican he should rap about cutting grass right you fucking mental midget cut it out, and do better then that I know you can I’ve got faith in you. Sorry Bloggers I know this has nothing to do with this weak ass song Jay-Z put out just this weak minded person Gawdess just because an artist is black does not mean when he tries to do something different then what’s expected he’s trying to be white IDIOT if it were left up to thinking like that then there would be no blacks in any form of music.

We need a retirement home for 40 year old rappers. Let’s call it the Phat Farm.
I’m a [jigga] fan who bought Kingdom Come, but I think this will be worse than that album.
His career should have ended after “American Gangster” with that Mayfield “Short Eyes” sample. Just Blaze killed it, and it was basically Jordan holding the follow-through against the Jazz.

“All bloggers with comments, please, I come in peace…”
Well I come with truth. And opinion.
Yet another OK track. An OK track that’s supposed to be on this “classic” album that Jay-Z is aiming for.
Again, “OK” does not a classic make.
To answer your question info, IT IS better than “Off That”. It sounds LESS forced. The synth-voice is what takes away from this song though. If he had given us a more complicated hook(see “We Major” by Kanye West ft. Nas) minus the synth, we might have had something here.
About that synth, isn’t that ALMOST going against his “DOA (Death of Auto-Tunes)” theme? For that matter, how do you start off using what sounds like a LIVE BAND to incorporating these computer/synth tracks?
Cohesiveness anyone?
Just sayin’.

The nigga Hov talking that shit on this record. Face it niggas, BP1, Reasonable Doubt, Vol 2, and The Black Album are classics, it’s hard to remake that magic. Although, ya’ll can’t front that Hov make better music than anyone out there minus Ye. Also, for you haterz that say Hov should have stayed retired and that he ain’t made nothing since The Black Album? Ya’ll always mention Kingdom Come (as if that shit was wack?) and always forget to mention American Gangster. That album was crack and damn near classic! Quit hating, it’s bad for ya health ya dig!

lol at this giant reaction/tirade. You’re entitled to your opinion Triune. I didn’t call you a stan because you liked the track.
I called you a stan because you brought up ‘record sales to shut the haterz up’ and then went on a tirade about haterz. That sounds like something a stan would say. I don’t know you personally (whether you’re a stan or not), but it’s a pet peeve of mine.
As a rap fan, I’m more interested in whether an album is good, not if it does x amount of sales opening day. That doesn’t justify how great an album is. That kind of mentality is killing hip hop IMO. Actually, not just in my opinion because a lot of artists say the exact same thing.

Hommie, first off, I only made the 400k comment to make a point that usually the opinions on message boards don’t side with popular opinion. Example, not that I mess with this group, but The Black Eyed Peas get no love on message boards no where, but they sell records becasue the general likes their records. If your pet peeve is people not liking haters then so be it. Haters are ruining Hip Hop. Everybody does something in rap (rhyme or produce) music nowadays so they feel that their opinion is valid. Point being, if you don’t like a Jay, 50, Cam, or whoever’s new record, that’s fine, but haters ain’t gotta get on no message boards saying niggas careers is over, or niggas lost their touch, or niggas is too old, or saying stupid shit that shouldn’t apply to any form of music. You don’t hear people saying that Madonna is too old, or Sting is too rich, or U2 been in the game to long and needs to let the new kids do they thing when they drop records do you? This is why haters are killing Hip Hop with all of this immature bulshit! Either the music is good or bad that should be the only opinion. I ain’t saying that if you don’t like this record you lame, nah, i’m saying that all that other shit is for the birds.

Ah yes, another reference to The Game on this album… “button ups, young hov, tell em more than every joe’s budden up”
I don’t know what that means… but thats clearly a reference to Game’s “I dont wear button up shirts or drive maybachs” from Westside Story, of which Game later said, on the same Documentary album, was referring to Joe Budden.
What happened to “I’m not talkin bout GAME”???
Jigga jacked Kanye/Lil Waynes swag on that whack track with Drake and now I think he’s jackin Game’s Bipolar side on this one!

We off that, Let’s see, Bill-O is speaking about him, The Pill Popper Lim is speaking about him, Fox news, and you call that song trash, why, because Hov don’t makey dance too much, Idiots, dummies and just plain ignorant, Fans are the reason Hip Hop suck, complain about rappers making material that is too harsh but let them reference things that are not, fat ass, my chain swings low, or a bust guns all day, I get money……stop hating, why do people sit in front of their computers and hate and the thing is it could just all be one person, different names, but all they will see is people don’t like the music, for whatever reason,
And for the last time, every rapper speaks about being a rapper, all of them, they mayput a few lines about blowing ya brains out while driving the whip the same color as throw up, but they will mentioned how they are better than you in their raps
