Its not a bad track.. but I understand Jay-Z more now!! Kanye is writing his shit giving him complete tracks, concepts, hooks, and most of the lyrics and thats what we’re hearing… Go watch fade to black again to see the creative process with Kanye in the studio with Jay-Z I wonder if Kanye thought Jay-Z was any good before all of his input…Oh and I didn’t forget how good Jay-Z was but I kinda think he did or maybe he was never as good as one may have thought.. In the absence of true leadership anything will do and the first man to step up can claim a vacant crown is accepted as the king..

My issue with dude is that when he saw he couldn’t compete with the Eminem monsoon pulled a fake retirement bullshit to in some way cement his status and then everything after that was horrible.. See before the fake retirement Jay-Z was a cool rapper nice piece of life to a lost era after the death of Big and Pac made good music didn’t have over the top productions but it complimented who he was, his talent, so even when it wasn’t the greatest display of lyrical prowess you still felt the work.. Now it seems like post retirement he is trying to hide a deficiency that maybe we all over looked with this over the top production, content geared toward a very small section of the population, his great life, his cool stuff that no manly man would really care about and his fake swag/aura and I don’t like that… There are 2 stages in Jay-Z career the first is the Biggie, Beans, State Prop era where that element challenged him to deliver those types of records that everyone enjoyed, dare I say “hip hop” records and I use the term loosely and now we have the Kanye era where there is zero relevant content, metrosexual rap, and frankly a repetitive braggadocios nature that NO OTHER TOP RAPPER WOULD GET A PASS ON!
When I see Drake I’m happy for Canada, when I see Wyclef I am happy for Hati no matter what everyone deserves a seat at the table and it makes me happy that Hip Hop gives everyone that.. But I’m not happy about the biggest con-man in music history Jay-Z or his lack of respect for the music.. He’s rich enough, that’s why he won’t get another dime of my money… He has no respect for the guys who came before him like Biggie did or like Pac did…. Big linked up with Mr. C out of respect for Kane and pac, well just go listen to Old School.. name a Jay-Z record like that…
He’s never talked about shit, his entire career was based on a movie and from the time he got into hip hop he was trying to get out so he could have Paltrow and Apple at his wedding and not give beans an invite..All cryptic fiction raps that I don’t mind not being true BUT just don’t wear those stories like your certified badge.. He should thank god everyday for Dame and Biggs instead he shits on them.. Dr. Dre not disrespecting Iovine and Em not saying fuck Rosenburg because see artist relationships come and go but those business relationships/friendships that took you through storms you never turn your back on.. Hell even Puff and Andre Harrell are still cool and didn’t Harrell fire him?
I hope Beyonce wake up soon and realize that shes married to a 40yr old middle aged man whose going to find a way to make 50 the new 25! Foolish..Go get Usher someone who at the very least has earned the same type of respect as you and leave grandpa to his vices..
I’m not going to convince a Jay-Z stan that he’s a fraud but I think I just presented Reasonable Doubt..

I can’t front, it’s not my cup of tea. Jay did say in past interviews about this album that it was going to be a Hip Hop version of 808′s And Heartbreaks. I wasn’t trying to hear it, guess he wasn’t lying. The verses from Jay are strong on all the leaks, just not the sounds that I was looking for from Jay.

yeah i think you’re not the only one thinking this. i know the beat was bothering me…but it must have been the kanye intro that set me off. what was that other track that was alright, venus versus mars, well with this beat/concept for the song they had for hate they could have done this better…just like for run this town if they had cut out some of those rihanna high notes it would have been more stomachable (not a words).

OK, since the song is talking about haters, I’ll start.
‘Ye still has the “Stronger Curse” – weak arse drums over otherwise creative production. I want the drums to feel like they kick you in the taint, but these sound like Kanye’s back in that Portishead zone; laid-back Bristol-based beats with echo chamber reverberation. It’s ok in chillout, trip hop music, but in American rap music? Nah, son. Nah.
Now to the “Chigga Jay-Z, shick you crazy”: I think this should have been a double-time flow throughout, ala Twister (the rapper, not the game). Other than that, his vocal performance was just ok. But somehow, dude sounds so…uninspired. I understand Kanye has a heavy influence on dude, but Hover the God should have intervened. Dude sounded like he was just along for the ride and forgot that this was “his song.”
Kanye: “Pyun Pyun Pyun?” “DB9 like ‘ryun ryun ryun?”
Really? Step your rap game up dog…you were on a roll for a while, but this is regressing like DMX’s hairline.
I hope I ain’t a hater for saying that, but somebody has to tell these dudes that while there is potential in this song, this song sounds half-arsed and half-finished.

yeah man i just heard a couple seconds of this like right into jay’s fist verse before i started commenting but i’ll make my own comments after this…but i was just reading what you were saying and i agree about this production especially with that drum beat. i feel like they could have done something with this instead of dragging it out on the one level notes and there’s nothing interesting there.
i’m not even done listening to the whole thing and i can’t believe they stuck to this beat that had so much much potential to be fire, or even the monotone rap style…damn. eminems part on that drake tune that was posted here the other day, eats this song buffet style. sh*t.
then it went to the kanye open and i was shaking my head. really kanye? maybe he’ll have another verse so i can actually hear him say something i will like. i’m going to listen to the whoel thing and then comment.

lmao @AUFBRAND I actually do that myself but FYI paying it off in full every month lowers your credit score not by much but it does. Reason being because it doesn’t show you can manage credit it just shows you pay your bill on time. but you probably, like me, have no bad credit history and no need to worry.

I scaned 3 sec of the album and it sounds solid. Haven’t heard the whole body of work yet but it sounds impressive.

i thought the kanye verse was will i am for a bit. damn this beat could have been so much dirtier. it’s a mishmash of a really heavy kick…an okay drum beat that could have definately been given more bass…and whatever that sound that was linking the whole thing was made with…i think that’s what’s wrong with this tune. i’m trying to figure out if it came from a keyboard…but that’s what prevents this beat from being heavy. like the bounce for this is up tempo…but if your lyrics are supposed to be taken seriously wouldn’t you come at this like this was a gangster beat. hmm. listned to it three times. i like it alright.

of course the leaks are intentional. don’t bet on it. the album has leaked online…unless they are going to pull everything, start from scratch, rerecord things, scrap promos, scrap relase in stores, scrap press and events…that’s a lot of work. i doubt that’s gonna happen. the album is out on the internet and i guess that’s just how things are done nowadays.

I’m giving Hov the benefit of the doubt, but so far he’s not bowling me over. I’ll honestly take Reasonable Doubt and In My Lifetime Vol. 1 over anything recent. Except Black Album which was real solid. And as for Kanye, I’m a fan, but is anyone else getting sick of the one word afterward punchlines? ie: “Spring ‘er… Jerry” “Balled… Chemo” etc. Drake too, I’m over it.
