New Music: Jay-Z featuring Rihanna and Kanye West “Run This Town” (CDQ/Dirty)
Off the upcoming Jay-Z Blueprint 3 album, coming 9/11/09
(Thanks to Mr.Xclusives and RapRadar)
UPDATE: BooGooDoom created a mini-mix of all the Blueprint 3 leak snippets so far. (spotted via RocktheDub) Including songs like…
Dead Presidents 3
When The Money Goes* (note: reader BKkid says this may have actually been an American Gangster leftover)
Ain’t I
Jockin’ Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh)
Swagger Like Us f/Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne & T.I.
Brooklyn (We Go Hard) f/Santigold
History
D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)
Run This Town f/Rihanna & Kanye West
You’re Welcome f/Mary J. Blige
(Question: wasnt there a song way back with DJ Clue actually saying Blueprint 3 on the intro or something?)
I like this new trend of simple graphic art in hiphop single cover art.
Jay: “I’m in Maison Martin Margiela….” (really? I’m surprised Hov wears MMM, him and the rest of the Antwerp-6 are very edgy.)
Kanye: “next time I’m in church, no photos…” (sigh, that’s a ugly reminder of when Kanye attended his mom’s funeral and people were cameraphoning : (

Tough!!
July 24th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Fire!!!!!!!!! My only concern would be is that Ye actually out spit Hov on this lol….. not sure if thats a good look!!!
If the records on this album run along this theme then BP3 will definitely be a classic!!!!!!
Im Expecting HATE in 5, 4, 3, 2 …..

I am tired of the trash Jay is putting out period. DOA was trash and now this r&b song. Man i think Jay needs to graw a set and step up his game. Don’t hate the players hate the game camel face.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
info, question-being that 9/11 is on a friday it’s a great chance if he does release it that day he will be hurting his 1st week sales and possibly number 1 position so do you think he’ll stick with that day?
July 24th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
The single cover looks like the U2 one for their most recent album.
Among music in general, this is an excellent song, but for Jay, this is sub-standard.
ETA: “Too many featured MCs and producers is popular” — Common
July 24th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
Ya know….Jay came with the “I’m so Grown Now” vibe on Kingdom Come and many didnt feel it. Then a return to more street talk on American Gangster kept peoples hears again. I’m curious what tone Jay will attempt to set this go around. I can only hope for a nice dose of current trend bashing and maybe a semi Rocafella reunion(at least get Beans and Freeway on) and I’ll be happy.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
i like it, although it does sounds like rihanna featuring jay-z & not the other way around
July 24th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
Ok song. Nothin to major, but not wack. Coulda got somebody other than rihanna. Someone with a stronger voice.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
Damn Hov…How you gonna let Ye stunt on you like that? I can’t believe I’m saying this.
“She got a ass that swallows her whole G String, and up top, 2 bee stings” hahaha, that sounds like something Cam would say.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
I thought when the money goes was from the American gangster sessions not blueprint 3.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
i like this song… got a good feel to it.. can’t wait to get the blurprint 3
July 24th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
I think you’re right!
July 24th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
LOL
July 24th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
lol, alot of ppl are saying that.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
this single is the one i was waiting for good job hov kanye rihanna ….
July 24th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
I really feel confused by this song lol just doesn’t seem like a jay song
Jay my favourite rapper but I really hoping he can surprise me with bp3 because I have my doubts at the moment
July 24th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
cosign #16
I am the biggest Jay-Z fan there is and when I heard a song called “Run This Down” is gonna be his next single with Ye and Rihanna, I was like WOW! And the song is just like…eh. It’s a new Jay song so I’ve already dl’ed it to the BB (thanks Miss Info) and I’m sure I will listen to it at least 10 times today but it doesn’t have a strong appeal to it. And like I said, I will defend Jay to the end…I don’t know.
July 24th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
im pretty sure the song with Clue shouting “Blueprint 3!” was “Ain’t I”
and if all those songs are actual leaks that are expected to be on the final album then we have half the album already.. i doubt those tracks will make the cut.. maybe Jockin Jay-Z will
July 24th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
I remember ppl shittin on the original Blueprint….but all i can say is this is a commercial joint, from Hot97 to z100 heavy rotation. this feels good.
Grown music….if u listen from Reasonable Doubt to this joint u can clearly hear maturity in the music…
RATED M for mature.
July 24th, 2009 at 2:53 pm
At the beginning it sounded like live your life, but I think thats how all Rhianna’s songs sound these days. She definitely killed the hook. Kanye’s verse was official. Too much hate is coming to Jay on here gee’z folks it’s not renegade. All in all its a respectable song i’ll DL it. It doesn’t make me thirsty for BP3 though. Then again compared to whats out i’m already gonna be buying new jay no matter what.
LOOK AT ALL THESE PUNDITS……..
They wouldn’t know a good or bad song if it hit them in the head. smh
Why do i torture myself? We all know this is where drake and Joe Budden fans live, yep all 17 of them
July 24th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Although i think the record is Fire!!! it ist anything Earth Shattering or a record that Would MAke other Albums by other artist go Unnoticed….
Lets FAce it the Next Couple of Months will be about HOv and 50 and Whoever Drops the Hotter Single WIns!!!!
PS: With that Said i Expect 50’s Next single in a few days if not Today lol
July 24th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
LOL AGREED except about the record sounding Like “live ur Life”
Once uv Won so MAny times they want u to Lose it happens to the best. Hov is at that point now where the Younsters want their SB’s, Newboyz, and Hurricane Chris LOL…they dont Want HOv messing it up for them so they want him to go away LOL
July 24th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Jay-z, this song is alright. Kanye West killed it, but it’s not a hit song. Jay-z said when you get older you can’t rap about the stuff the young cats rap about. However that’s the jay-z I wanna listen to, the iceberg slim jay-z, the volume 2 and 3 jay-z, the dynasty jay-z. Jay still top 5 dead or alive, but idk how strong his legacy will be if this album isn’t a classic. On a side note, I don’t wanna see a Nas and Damian Marley album (no offense Damian). I wanna see a Nas and Jay-z album, will we ever see that??? Miss info next time you jay-z ask him please.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Next time you see jay-z is what I meant, I hate this iPhone sometimes.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Jay should stick to spitting straight metaphors, cause niggas dont really listen to music they just skim through it.
Straight out the bag people will think Jay’s verses are average, when infact he goes in, hard. But that wont be appreciated, I garauntee it. Then people complain that jay dumbs down his lyrics.
Great track.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
My girl Rhianna went in. Kanye brought he’s A+ game on this. C’mon Jay held his own on the track but Rhianna doing what she’s doing right now, is showing growth, strength and courage. She’s not the victim but the victor, I like that.
Blueprint 3 is going to be a solid album, no doubt.
“Ain’t I” is such a hard track, the way Kanye and Hov debuted “Jockin’ Jay-Z” was legendary, Jigga took to the stage and showed who’s boss!
D.O.A is what it is, I think people forget that Jay Z built he’s career with people doubting him from the beginning but he’s track record proves he’s still one of the best to ever do it.
Swagger like us, T.I took that already. I’m ready for “Run this Town” to run it’s course, I’m pretty sure the remixes to this might set the tone for the album.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
I’ve heard the song was originally Rih’s which would explain why her parts are so long; I’m not sure.
Bu this ish knocks … and Ye DID go harder.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Disclaimer: I’m a grown ass man, & being so, I have my own opinion. If you disagree, that’s fine, we can debate, just don’t talk reckless. Thank You.
Good song but not my cup of tea. ‘Ye went in but why is everybody on that “he killed Jay on the track” shit. It’s so immature. They’re not battling…just stupid IMO.
They both wemt in. Oh yeah Rhianna has the weakest voice ever.
Peace.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
there have been a few artists who put out their albums the friday before official release, mainly to combat bootleggery. i imagine jay is going to keep this date, though. nostalgic.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
i heard people SAY that, but i don’t think it’s been confirmed. definitely fits the feel of the american gangster.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
The song with Clue saying BP3 was Ain’t I. You posted it when it came out, then deaded it because it was new track to us, but was old.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
damn well thats two things to check off my bucket list seeing one of the greats fall from grace(thats a long way down)and americas first black president this is sad he not even setting trends no more “all black everything my ass! thats maino’s slogan”!!!!
July 24th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
Yup got that american gangster feel, to be honest should have been included if it is a outtake!
July 24th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
“(Question: wasnt there a song way back with DJ Clue actually saying Blueprint 3 on the intro or something?)”
Aint I
July 24th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Who ever said Jay-Z needs to go sit down needs to go somewhere and sit down. Why the hell do people expect this man to rap like he did in 1996. He is not the same person he’s not the same rapper. If he did rap like he did in 96 then yall motherfuckers would STILL have a problem…GET OVER IT. Either way his verse was still better than all the other GARBAGE that’s out know. I’m sick and tired of people comparing Jay-Z to Jay-Z it doesn’t fuckin matter because he’s still one of the best rappers ever. If he did another song like Dead Presidents (hot song) then you would have a problem. If he did another Soon You’ll Understand then you would have a problem. If he did another You must love me then YOU WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM. GET OVER IT. It does not matter because he’s still Jay-Z and he will still rap circles around your favorite rapper. So stop comparing Jay-Z to Jay-Z cause either way he’s go win he is one of the greatest and his first verse was HOT!!! So get OVER IT. PS The Game is GARBAGE . Hop off of Jay’s stuff
July 24th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Kanye slapped Jay on this one. Hard.
July 25th, 2009 at 4:01 am
meh average kanye killed jay on his own shit damn jays delivery is getting slack compare his flow on this to the energy on 4alarm Blaze this song its pretty forgettable he seems more concerned with how wispery he can make his lines then coming with it too much swag not enough potency all his bars these days sound lazy and his always ending the end of every bar with an extended wisper this isn’t the hov from hovi baby remix or its like that or friend or foe 98
July 25th, 2009 at 8:24 am
1. Jay-Z will not rap circles around my favorite rapper because my favorite rapper is Nas.
2. People complain because he’s not doing anything different. He puts out the same music with different titles each go around
3. Jay-Z is a “pop rapper”, and he always has been since “Aint no nigga”. His stuff could never be better then the stuff that’s out now because his stuff is the same as whats out now.
4. Jay-Z is overrated, and not one of the greatest. His lyrics are simplistic as hell, and he is not creative at all.
5. Get off his dick stan man.
July 25th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Jay’s verses weren’t memorable..except for that dillinger/depp line.
July 25th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
yo sombody get hov on the phone they better have a roc nation remix asap !!!!!
July 25th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
(Question: wasnt there a song way back with DJ Clue actually saying Blueprint 3 on the intro or something?)
yeah info that song “Aint I” is the one clue was talking on… you got it up there…
July 25th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
this track is str8 up garbage, jay stans shld please give me a hard line in his verse.nas said it best u pop shit.
July 26th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
This shit is average at best, and that’s because of kanye. I’m sorry for all u guys that feel the need to protect these guys who have noidea who we are.I like jay and I appreciate all the shit he’s done for hip hop, but he has to respect the art and really please the fans. Just my opinion.
July 27th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Since the Black Album, i’ve been slow on Jay..like ever since then its been taking me a minute to really feel his songs but eventually i do. With that being said, thats how I feel about this song…not wack..but nothing to hype about, I felt hyper the morning Cypha premiered “Mr Carter” lol. The song will grow on me i guess. And as for the friday release date..Hello..Black Album anyone? came out 9/11 and still sold..go ‘head Jay!
July 27th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
ain’t i was a leftover track from Timbo’s Shock Value album. jay didn’t want it on there.
