Best part of this song is the beat and when Timbo does his lil adlibs.. besides that the England Bloke accent was done by Fif already.. yea.. hate the fact i dont buy jus cause its a Jay-Z x Drake collab.. all and all its a so-so track.

A space filler??
See…thats the thing, Jayz is NOT known for having space fillers. He usually doesnt do that. His space fillers were usually his so-so singles he released for commercial success. Thats why he never had a number one hit song. Jayz is known for having great albums. Not great singles. This better not be filler, if so…wow. im shocked at how mediocre this is.The beat and Drake are okay. Just like Rihanna and Kanye were okay on the other songs. smh wow…I didnt expect this from Jayz.
(Im sure the haters will say im being bias, but im being honest.)

Jay-Z isn’t in this to make good music anymore he’s putting together albums not just to eeeek out 2 or 3 concert suitable tracks to keep getting that tour money, thats all he’s about fake sawg and our money!!
Dude so far gone its a shame…
Decent beat but not good enough to carry his rich nigga raps nobody feeling that.. But why is it ok for him to rap about the same shit time and time again but 50 Cent gets stonewalled for it? SAD!!!

Good Point…
Jayz kinda needs to get over himself I think. I Luved that about BP1. How much he rapped about himself and boasted himself. But now its getting old. How many ways can you keep trying to convince everyone how great you are and what a legend you are? Its old…especially if your music is as good.

When was the last time you heard the undisputed BEST RAPPER ALIVE BIG DADDY KANE talk about how great he is or how he’s the best?
I think never!
Jay barely makes my top 10 all time

This song would of never made Blueprint 1. Timbaland style doesn’t match the original Blueprint formula.

The song is ok at its best..The song sounds like is should be a first single. Usually first single are songs you just give away cause it has a club tempo. Plus Jay should have kept Drake off the song since Drake didn’t spit a verse. Jay easily could have spit the hook.

This joint is Good. Really upbeat. Once u start hearing it more and more it grows. It’s funny how people wanna still link him back to the future but like the hook. “he off that”. People expect him to drop a song and 1st spin it blast off. NAH…something real different and it’s gonna work. I’m not stuck on the past but always looking forward to tomorrow. Something fresh and new not boring and old…..

I agree 135% with ANAHILATOR, I actually like the joint. It’s something different with a good message to it. I don’t think people are listening to what the song is saying, basically grow up, you can’t be on the same stuff you were on a couple of years ago. Hov won’t be able to win regardless of what he puts out.

Timbo set the bar pretty high with Dirt Off Your Shoulder. Production this time is obviously no where near. Give it a couple weeks until someone gives the track the mash-up treatment, it’ll be a classic. Cause lyrically Jay is still on-point on this. I dont think Drake was used properly though, sounds force. Regardless BP3 is going to be a classic.

If the latest tracks from BP3, “Run This Town” and “Off That”, did not earn critical acclaim thus far, how is BP3 “going to be a classic”?
A classic consist of a near flawless effort. Name one song from the first Blueprint that didn’t need to be on the album. I rest my case.
BP3 so far=No classic

It’s OK, but that’s the problem right? I thought he was going for a classic album. “Run This Town” and “Off That”, a classic it DOES NOT make.
The time it took him to create the Blueprint in comparison to Blueprint 3, is going to cause a lot of criticism among listeners.
The tracks that were leaked(Jockin’ Jay-Z etc.) and thought to be apart of the album were MUCH better than what we’ve been hearing lately.
Instead of trying to create this conceptual effort(DOA etc.) he should just allow his music and style to speak for him.
I’ve never heard Jay-Z try so hard to get a point across by changing a demographic. It use to seem so effortless. He’s self aware that he’s capable of changing landscapes, so now he may be over doing it by ramming “change” down our throats.
Just a thought.

He keeps claiming this is a classic and he keeps proving it’s anything but. He “killed” auto tune. And then to keep him in the blogs he dick rides Rihanna and Kanye and now this bullshit Drake. Jay has hardcore fans who thinks Everything he does is fine but then he has fans who makes him earn his keep. This album is downloaded period. He will get no money from me.

Hint number one to know that you are stuck in a time warp…. when you cant critique a body of work without comparing it to an album that that was made seven years ago.. c’mon how many of you have the same ideas and opinions that you had seven years ago.. if you do then like U2 says, ” your stuck in a moment and cant get out of it” half of you are probably that same cats that hated on Biggie for his hit songs and said, ” i wish he woulda made more songs like unbelievable”

ur average hip hop “fan” been stuck follow a formula for so long that when a artist reminds that being yourself, telling YOUR stories, creating YOUR style is whats its about not following a program then that artist is corny.
the real double standards are when jay spit grown man shit (kingdom come) then he washed up when he spit crack tales (AG) then he too old to be talking bout selling crack
the artist makes music for the fans
the fans dont dictate what music the artist makes

Heres my biased statement for the day…
Now maybe yall can understand why I appreciate a rapper like Cam’ron so much. He doesnt try as hard. He has been rapping almost as long as Jayz and just raps about what he wants to rap about. He doesnt shove things down your throat. He doesnt “change” cause of what other people are doing, or because of what he thinks everyone else SHOULD be doing. smh
Im telling you…I used to like Jayz, but he needs to just rap and get over himself as this great god legend. People really have gassed this dude beyond belief.
Last but not least…
Im sure its not my place to make such an assumption…But seriousl, I dont even think Jayz would still be rapping if BeYAWNce’ would stop singing!!! She keep droppin albums and going on world tours its like wtf??? Jayz said he retired to move on to the next part of his life. I guess he didnt realize beyonce wasnt ready to go there either. I kinda feel bad for him she said to the brits she wasnt starting a family for another TEN YEARS! WTF??? Thats selfish (if its true) Beyonce has accomplished so much, what mre could she want?

I reserve judgment till more joints or the full album drops. But it seem like in spite of the fact that no questions Jay-z’s skill/talent, no know exactly knows what Jay stands for anymore and I think that’s been the case since he split from Dame.
Jay-z’s words only hold as much power as the people that respond to it. Had everyone stayed in their jerseys, Jay would have looked foolish. Now he speaks and it’s not an automatic following of his statements but a good degree of questioning.
Once again, what is his theme? What is the focus of this new Blueprint? What does he stand for?

So heres how I feel about BPIII, Jay said in a interview he’s trying to make a trilogy like he said with the In My Lifetime series. Which to me it seems like BPIII will be more focused on not making a classic like the first one but being more focused on having a guest appearances and commercially themed songs much like Hard Knock Life and Kingdom Come even though those, well HKL had street records mostly on it. But this poses a big question what is the life of a rapper being popular commercially and selling records, because really i think Jay is the only rapper doing it on a big level past 40 and unfortunately I think Jay is at the point where he’s not trying to impress anybody lyrically, well maybe one or two lines but that’s literally nothing at all. Honestly if the rest of the album sounds like this most of you will be able to agree with that statement. But for some reason I think American Gangster will be the last rawest album we will see from Jay. But this song is just average at best nothing really special and I had higher expectations.

I don’t know…I’m not really loving this joint right here.
This track is redundantly average and painstakingly by the numbers.
The Timbo track feels about 5 years too late and 4 mins.too long. Its sounds like some “Timbaland style” loop you’d find on Frooty loop or something.
Jay’s lyrics are unremarkable in it’s cadence, yet quite remarkable in it’s familiarity. Same shit but without a witty punchline.
And what was the point of bookending Drake at the begining and ending of his verses? He handcuffed the most buzzed about new rapper by relegating him to the hook.
Why?
Sorry, but after hearing the dismally drab single “Run This Town” and then this, hope is truly falling on the prospect of BP3 being a dope album

It’s official: Jay-Z has turned into LL Cool J.
He had a buzz when he started, peaked 4 albums ago, and now just tells people how good he is as compared to his peers and to history.
It’s sad, actually. Dude didn’t even get a haircut for a number of months. Where’s Whoo Kid?
I also don’t like how Jigger gets the current buzzing rapper and relegates them to a hook. He did this on American Gangster when EVERYONE was screaming for a Jigger/Wheezie collab, and now he’s done the same thing to Jimmy from Degrassi.
I think he’s done tomfoolery like this since Nas once proclaimed that Eminem murdered Jigger on his own schtick, and now Jigger makes sure that nobody else has that opportunity, even though “Kanyes West” (according to Cam’ron) blacked out on Run This Town.
DOA and Brooklyn We Go Hard aside, which were both tougher than a $2 steak, Jigger is looking like Larry Holmes, flabby and sick. What is he going to have for dinner?

I’m not feeling this one too tough either. It’s starting to feel like a Joe Frazier interview. He’s your “hero” so you want to look past the fact that his speech isn’t so great anymore, but it’s becoming harder and harder.

I’m sure I got nothin on you NY cats but over here in CA I would like to think I’m Jay’s #1 fan…WITH THAT BEING SAID….it’s been a full day and I still have not heard this whole track. I cut it off 1 minute into it..a new Jay-Z song and I cut it off?! WTF?! I’m just lukewarm on “Run This Town” but it still was my “song of the night” when it first came out. I’m starting to lose hope on BP3 being classic. Don’t get me wrong, I’m buying it the second it comes out but come on Jay. Don’t try to get Drake on a track just cuz the world liked him from Degrassi, son is trash, and this song is too.

Ok Ok.
Lets be serious! Drake is seriously OVERATED! He’s cool but he is nothin but Kanye/Weezy mixed. Thats it.
Why doesnt R Les have the same buzz, he is truly a more talented artist. He sings and can spit somethin aight for u.
They just put madddddd hype behind Drake(whoknowswhy?) Oh well hes on Cash Money/Young Money/Rapin U Records. By the time he actually drop he wont be as hot.
Oh well time will tell.
PS. That Raekwon song is shittin on any BP3 song I heard so far. Go figure???

drake is waaaaay overrated. he is crap!! but sheep will follow.
just like cudi mickey factz wale and all them other wannabe model nerdz. this new jay z stuff is very shit! not exiting or live in any way,, just boring to hear, its sad really.
how stagnant and stinky american rap has become. i say american because outside of the usa, rap is alive, healthy and doing big things. everyone used to love the american rap scene when i was a kid.(including me)
now its just a huge boring mess of money drugs and bitches. out of date stale old ass rappers age 50 or so trying hard to make you believe there still relevant. shame!
