New Music: Green Lantern’s “Empire State of Mind” remix feat. Raekwon, CNN, and Styles P (Dirty)

Just in time for tonite’s NY stop of Raekwon’s Cuban Linx 2 tour, where him, Capone-N-Noreaga will be at Irving Plaza…DJ Green Lantern blasted out a remix of “Empire State of Mind” featuring all three, as well as Styles P. Thanks to Green for sending it over…(he says he’s DJ-ing New Year’s Eve in Abu Dhabi with Rihanna, so I’ll be trying to stash myself in his carry-on. I’ve always wanted to visit that part of the world.)

i’m feelin this ‘remix’.
CNN’s verse was more grimier than the original but its one that NYers can definitely relate to.

Feeling this BUT I need Styles to drop a longer verse. The Ghost is too good to just drop a lil teaser like that. Great hearing CNN flow again.
Y’all remember LOX & CNN on “Bleed from the Mouth”

It’s ok but i hope this “NY THEME” shit don’t become a heavy trend. The last thing New York needs to be repetitive.

^word. That’s why hip hop been in a state of steady decline. The art form of late has been pigeon-holed into phases of popular trends. As hot as the original record is let’s hope this doesn’t turn into a phase of city anthem raps.
Never been a big fan of remixes but I’m feeling the green lantern record especially Rae’s verse.
