Christmas comes early for Frank Ocean fans. The singer/songwriter took to his Tumblr on Saturday evening to release “Wiseman,” a song that was originally slated to appear on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s new film, Django Unchained . In his GQ “Man of the Year” feature, the six-time Grammy-nominated crooner first revealed he wrote a song for the motion picture soundtrack. Recently, Tarantino spoke on the song’s omission with Fuse.
“Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”
Saturday night’s post simply quoted as “django was ill without it,” includes the song and its lyrics.

this song sucks. I guess “Strawberry Swing/We All Try/Songs For Women/Swim Good” Frank is all gone now.
I’m all for evolving organically but this dude just aint making good music anymore imo. The lyrics are often too abstract and sorta random. and his production gets more and more boring.

Crack Rock, the second half of Pyramids, Lost, Novacane, Swim Good
Those to me are his best songs. I never really was a fan of Strawberry swing; never understood the hype over Nostalgia, Ultra.
