Frank Ocean takes to his Tumblr and drops off this new song titled “Voodoo.” No word on if this will appear anywhere, but new material from the Odd Future crooner is always appreciated. A possible preview of what we can expect from his album due this spring? Listen to the short but smooth song below.

Catch the lyrics after the jump…..
Frank Ocean – “Voodoo” (Lyrics):
darker times
they’re telling boulder heavy lies
looks like all we’ve got is each other
the truth is obsolete
remember when all i had was my mother
she didn’t compromise
she could recognize
voodoo
our daughters and our sons
are just candles in the sun
voodoo
don’t let him see divide
don’t you let her see divide
voodoo
she’s got the whole wide world in her juicy fruit
he’s got the whole wide world in his pants
he wrapped the whole wide world in a wedding band
then put the whole wide world on her hands
she’s got the whole wide world in her hands
he’s got the whole wide world in his hands.

He’s definitely the next 2pac. I’m sure of it. Also, look out for detox coming this summer.

You didn’t like “Thinking About You”??? That miiight be better than almost every song on “nostalgia, ULTRA.”

^not even remotely.
“Thinking About You” is a step away from generic RnB. not saying the song sucks, but the production just aint all that. It’s a plodding record imo. I don’t necessarily care for the falsetto either. feels thin and weak.
Compare that to the raw and melodic production of “We All Try”, “Strawberry Swing”, “Swim Good”, etc.. Those beats are unique, particularly in today’s formulaic RnB landscape. and the writing was just more interesting too.
