Shouts to missinfo …
Yo!
Rae sounds like he’s still within his prime.
When you talk about NY MCees … Who’s better than THE CHEF? :
1.JAY
2.50, but FIF is not as underground-street-like as Rae; but he’ll give you a track like “DOUBLE-UP” every now and then. Still FIF focuses on the females too much for me.
3.NAS … can’t pick a beat to save his life. He’s also too inconsistent – as far as consecutive verses – and is more conscious than I prefer.
So, you-know, we really have to ask ourselves, “Who is really dominating besides Jay – whenever he decides to bless us with a project.” I’m talking about street credible music; not ladies’ anthems.
After those obvious three, there’s a serious contravercy brewing – which is:
Should we judge MCees by whose dominating the garbage radio market, [or] by whose delivering the hardest rhymes – particularly in the Gangster-rap lane of hip hop.
My point is, when we’re talking top-five MCees in Gangster rap – period – THE CHEF needs to be in that conversation.
If there is a quote-unquote “heavy weight champ” in Gangster Rap, Rae deserves a shot at the title. He’s been very consistent, from 2011 up until now.
P.s. I’d give half of my left pinky-finger to see a Raekwon and Nas album (a whole album collaboration); I’d give the whole damn pinky for a trilogy. I think Rae would bring the Street-Deciple back from within Nas … No Homo.
No peace, Niggas.
Oh yea! Fuck Frank Ocean! Go suck yourself, Faggot!
Oh yea! Fuck Murs too! Frank White style, Nigga!
No Homo, Fuckers!

I hear you, Cuz … to each his own.
My only argument is that Pretty Tony’s body of work, over the last couple of years hasn’t been relative enough to give him a title-shot, so-ta-speak.
I like Pretty Tony, though – no homo.
I heard Ghost say in an interview, not too long ago, that his favorite verse that he believes that he ever laid down was on a song called “Impossible.” It shows Ghost’s ability to tell a story.

I hear you, Loc.
But at that stage of the argument, I was really judging from a commercial standpoint – Whose the most dominant? … Whose on the radio the most? … Whose been more active? … Whose been making the most noise? … Whose making more money? … Whose the biggest Heavy-Weight out of NY, commercially …
Just now, you have me thinking about the Shyne and 50 debacle: Shyne came out dissing 50, but then 50 put Son in his place, when 50 went Mel Gibson on him, via Skype. Do you remember that?
We all would agree that Shyne is a Hall-of-Famer; a Legend. Shyne’s GODFATHER BURRIED ALIVE album is one of the most lyrical and purest records that I’ve ever heard in my life – taking in to account that Shyne had a short deadline because he was recording while fighting a serious court-case; I’m not saying that every track was a gem, but go and listen to the whole album again, you will here the definition of real Gangster-rap. I listened to it the other day, and there were many tracks on there that I had to replay 10, or more, times because they were just so potent – it would be very hard for you or I to ever re-create something that genuine, and that gangster. There’s only a few rappers, [ever], that could create something like that if ever put in the same situation as Shyne – and five or six of them are dead (Pac, Big, Soulja, Pun, Pimp).
One of my favorite Shyne bars off of that album was: I had niggas waking up/ wings on they back/ halos on they head/ like, “Dawg, I’m Dead.”
Go listen to the album, again. Anybody who hasn’t heard it yet, your missing out on a breath of fresh air – a classic; a collector’s item.
My point is, 50 out witted Shyne (a legend) like he was a rookie. Matter of fact, I haven’t heard anything from Shyne, in regards to 50, since immediately after the incident. Furthermore, in that interview about the incident, Shyne sounded like he wanted no parts of that war with G-unit.
I’m not dissin Shyne, but that was a major scar on his legacy. From the outside looking in, it looked like Shyne threw the first punch, then Fifty threw a lucky hay-maker, and then Shyne decided that he didn’t want anymore of that and then threw in the towel.
In my region 50 is dominating, in comparison to Nas; I can’t remember the last time that I heard Nas on the radio.
Personally, I hear 50 on the Radio, 100 times more than I hear Nas; so I brought that list up, just as some food for thought.
But the main-point that I was bringing up was: Should we, as Rap-heads, judge Gangster-Rap MCees by those standards(Radio; Forbes list)?
But on the other hand, if we judge them by Gangster lyricism, well then my argument was that Reakwon should be in the, quote-unquote, top-five discussion.

ANYBODY WHO THINKS GHOST IS BETTER THAN RAE AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER MUST NOT HAVE STOP LISTENING TO RAE OR GHOST AFTER 1998.
