New Mixtape: Lupe Fiasco – Enemy Of The State: A Love Story

Lupe dropped this new mixtape at midnight, but he decided to make an artistic stance and post it as all one long mp3. He called it “cassette style,” I call it, unwieldy. Luckily, Illionaire and Shake chopped it up into tracks so we can listen to it as we please, and in whatever entirety or partiality that we please, lol.

hmm i’ve never been a fan of lupe. He’s dope lyrically, but i just never been into his music. I saw him perform at this party one time and dude was quiet as hell on the mic.

lupe is argueably THE GREATEST lyrically sound rapper to date! whoever made the statement about sleep is right! lol. im puttin on the headphones so i don’t wake wifey up cuz i know im bout to get amped! kinda wish i didn’t come across this til later today, but it is what it is.

seriously, why the fuck! is he still using the nword. goddammit! can we kill that fucking thing. damn. got friends that still use it (not in the sick way that most black people who are unenlightened do) and i don’t like it but i know they don’t hate themselves so that’s how i rationalize that. but lupe shouldn’t be using that, he’s above it. as i’ve written i don’t like his music *only exception:kick-push* but he is ok lyrically. i guess i will get a black on both sides or blackstar sequel when hell freezes over. sucks. that’s about the only thing that will excite me with respect to hip-hop. other than that i’ll gladly sleep on the whole genre. hip hop is dead primarily because it eats its young and it doesn’t infuse new blood into the process.

“Black on Both Sides” and “Blackstar” both were laden with “nigga”.. BOBS has a song called “Mr. Nigga” haha. Mos and Talib haven’t ever stopped using it..
and “eats its young”? all hip hop has is its young.. if anything it discards its old (with some exceptions)
