I’m happy and sad. Mixtape is quality, but I want 50 to attempt to make different music. I’ll still happily take great music (which this is) regardless of it’s old or new style for the artist though.

I know exactly what you mean; I’ll take 50 cent high quality music any day; even though its the same ole’ 50 , because it’s just simply better than material that’s currently out. I think he accomplished his goal which was to get relevant again and make his presence felt. This tape had perfect timing and I haven’t enjoyed a tape form him in a while. It doesn’t feel forced or out of his realm. great tape in my opinion. Lets hope he follows this creative path to make a great album.

I liked it a lot. Really happy. REALLY HAPPY. I love that the slick talker is back.
This is a mixtape, so I can’t fvcking wait for the album now. I will buy the album based off this mixtape, whereas before I would have downloaded and determined whether I should buy it.
I’m so happy 50 is back man. Proud of him. The shit talking at the end of the intro came straight from the heart.

I completely agree with you, Hip Hop is just a sad state of affairs when people are excited about a multi millionaire putting out a “street” album then cry about Rick Ross being a phony I just don’t get it. There is a reason why some artist stay relevant in hip hop like Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye, and to a lesser extinct Snoop. They evolved with their music. Jay-Z/EM/Kanye new albums sound nothing like their old albums sound wise and content wise and they are still going platinum. Cause people can respect them for actually individuals and not just acts or gimmicks

The production and beats on this tape are fire.
They’re LP worthy. It was refreshing that 50 made an effort to use different words and rhymes. Especially on the Queens track. I was getting tired of hearing him overuse the same words (teflon, semi-automatic, bloodclot, emer-gen-cy).
However, I just can’t get over the impression that it seems as if he is reading his rhymes. It doesn’t sound as effortlessly and natural as he used to sound.
More so, rhyming with the thick, heavy voice seems as if he is forcing you to listen to him. Nobody wants to hear a drill Sargent rap. He gotta thin out his voice when rhyming. That’s the 50 I remember.
Also, the music just sounds way too structured and unorganic. It’s like there has to be his usual hook after every rhyme, and with his husky voice, the hooks just don’t sound melodic anymore. Someone in his camp needs to get him back to rapping the way he used to. I kinda wish Dre didn’t make him switch his style up. Perhaps Sha Money XL is whom he is missing for direction.

I’m not hating because i’m a 50 fan, but this mixtape isn’t good to me. I’m more of a fan of War Angel than this.

I think 50 doesn’t have his own lane anymore.. Gangster rap is dead and he needs to reinvent himself and create some next shit.. He has the potential but time will tell whether he has the creativity

Gangster rap will never be dead, its a cycle and @ some point it always makes it back to the mainstream. And have you been living under a rock? because I’ve never known fifty to wait till there is a lane for him….he will make one if one is not already created….its about time for some G-shit anyway.
