Mikey: Nipsey Hussle is definitely living up to his moniker. The Slauson Ave native just wrapped a shoe deal with Pony, shot two movies—one with Vivica A. Fox and the other with Ving Rhames, he’s opened a clothing store in LA (the Slauson Ave Shop), he’s got tours, mixtapes and his debut album are all coming by this fall. Hussle talked to MTV News about the concept for his debut LP, South Central State of Mind:

“I might feel like one of my dudes is a Blood, one of my dudes is from Hoover. So me, personally, this is my homeboy and I got love for him…But I’m from the 60s, and it’s a politic that goes with that… And bring a human element to what this is about and stop people from looking at us like we just mindless killers and we glorifying this type of life…”
