Nas Unveils Kelis-Inspired ‘Life Is Good’ Album Cover
Posted by Mr.North under album preview[16] Comments
Nas draws inspiration from his much-publicized divorce with ex-wife Kelis on the cover for his upcoming album, Life Is Good. Dressed in an all-white suit, Nas sits pondering on a couch with the last memory of Kelis in his lap, her green wedding dress she left after moving out. Back in April, Nas opened up for the first-time ever about their messy separation in his VH1 “Behind the Music” special. His tenth solo album arrives on July 17 supported by the singles “The Don” and “Daughters.”

so it’s gonna be weak. and hip hop heads will praise it for 2 weeks and then forget about it.
I swear the NO ID love is just getting ridiculous.
Are there no other producers out that can give Nas a mature, melodic sound?

Yo dude, dont try to play me son lol! far from a hipster…trend dickrider, etc…whatever have you!…if anything I air those dudes out in any rap conversation! whether online or in person! I’m goin on 26, my love for this Hip Hop shit is mainly in the golden era (the 90s)…I’ve been a fan of No ID since Resurrection! That’s bottom line! Only reason I mentioned him is because he’s the only so-called big named producer I heard of touching the album! There were some others but I didn’t hear too much of that…and if you think it’s because I’m tired of hearing one of my favorite artists of all time rap over boring Salam or Chucky Thompson beats…you’re fucking right on that! But def don’t play me for a trend rider! Never been that! Never will be!

Dude above is very funny, he had d audacity to diss the daughters beat just cos it wasnt made by Primo. BTW, Salaam is on d album heavy, DON > atm, Da Internz and No ID did the majority of the production with a sprinkle of other producers.

@Anelka good looks on the extra info on the producers! & ur right I can’t front…Salam did his thing on the Don beat! & whoever did Nasty as well! I just want the nigga Nas to reclaim his rightful throne…I want these little new niggas to know why we 90′s rap heads praise dude’s music so much!

@Uptop da Don lol, Salaam been dope for a min, he got mad classics for the fugees:the score,Amy whinehouse, and some Nas but not enuf, dunno why. As regards Nas, hes gonna do him when he feels like, he strikes me lik dat kinda guy dat dnt know how to act, tries to keep it real as often as possible even if it means dropping albums like HHID and Nigga with topics a lot of people dnt necessarily want to vibe to.

That cover is tough to look at. I feel for the brother.
Nas knows he dont have to prove he is nice anymore. Everybody knows who he is. Nowadays he is forcing his audience to think. Thats why he dropped “Hip Hop is Dead” and what was supposed to be “Nigger”. The titles alone stand by themselves and offend the onlooker.
That is what he is doing with this joint right here.
The only thing that would have been iller is him pulling out the actual dress Kelis wore on their wedding day. That would have been ill.

This is Nas’ “Here My Dear” (Marvin Gaye’s angry tribute album to his ex-wife). Some rap critic should ask him if he was inspired by that album…and it would be ill-er if Nas freestyled over Marvin’s “When did you stop Loving Me, When did I stop Loving You” as part of the promotion.
