Nas Connects With Art’s Elite to Examine Illmatic and Their Similarities
Posted by Mikey Fresh under videos[6] Comments
This conversation is pretty great. Artworld stars Rashid Johnson and Luis Gispert and Nas discuss Illmatic and their creative processes. They find that there’s so many parallels between painting and rapping. Nas says he feels like he needs to always do the unexpected and is always trying to do something different with his music. He mentions drawing inspirations from everyday conversations and art. He concludes by revealing that he always envied the painter’s life.
presented as part 1 of Spotify’s Music Loves Art Series via Vice

Real nice visuals of Nas!
I swear Nas is one of the most visionary emcees today. The brother is just gifted. Unlike some of his peers Nas doesn’t have to flood the industry with his music/creativity but when he does he blazes a trail. His talent is unmatched and his good looks are never aging. I see why he is disliked by some of his peers and some of the television, blog & radio hip hop personalities but nonetheless; Nas continues to be one of the most enduring artists in hip hop. Nas is a TRUE artist…it’s in his DNA!

On a different note these damn webmercials suck. If I wanted to watch damn ads, I’d watch television. Why don’t companies realize that the web is not a space for this drivel…it makes you hate their products even more.
