Mythbuster: Nicki Minaj did not replace Diddy with Benny Medina as her manager

Earlier today, there was a statement posted on the web, purporting to be Nicki Minaj’s announcement that she had hired Benny Medina as her new manager. Not only that but the statement took the time to bash her current management team (Diddy, James Cruz and co.), and even refer longingly to her short-lived management arrangement with Troy Carter (Lady Gaga’s manager). Well, seeing as how Nicki hasn’t even spoken about Diddy managing her for the past 6 months, it would seem odd for her to just go public with this manifesto, right? Right.
That’s because the “statement” is a fake. Members of her inside circle confirm that it’s inaccurate, and Nicki herself just tweeted:

Faked Nicki Minaj statement:
“By now, everyone should now [sic] that I am really strict when it comes to my representation. I had sympathy for Sean however I feel as if I haven’t gotten the guidance the manager is supposed to give his client. Personally, I feel like I’m being managed by mother. Even if you play the smallest role on my team, I wish to see progress. I’d like to thank him for everything he has done for me; for taking me under his wing. I wish him the best with repping Rick [Ross]. But now that my album is about to drop, its time to get serious and stop playing games. If I could turn back time…I wouldn’t have made the decision to let Troy go.“

hmm, I wonder where this statement came from? Something tells me it must stem from Troy or his camp, as he’s the only one mentioned positively…whose mother was she supposed to be talking about anyway?

It’s amazing how people just post stuff without fact-checking first. Like would it really have been hard to dig enough to find out the truth? And then that statement, it doesn’t even sound professional.

besides the obvious fact that she never really acknowledged puff or james until the bet awards, ppl should have known it was fake when:
1) it popped up on vladtv.com
2) a press release would go out to everybody but the important ppl (bet, mtv, missinfo, allhiphop, rapradar, etc..)
3) nicki can’t spell know?
4) “i had sympathy for sean?”
5) why the hell would she name drop ross out of the blue
etc……

While Minaj loves the praise, she knows that speculation often isn’t far behind. When a photo of Minaj holding hands with her friend and adviser, Diddy, surfaced on the internet, blogs were in frenzy over the idea Minaj was dating the entertainment mogul.
“You know how you look at your older brother? That’s how I look at Diddy,” she says. “When people say that, it makes me gag. He’s my friend, and he’s sweet and he’s a great guy, but I could never see him that way.”
And for the record, Diddy is not her manager, she says.
