Mikey: Last night at the Highline Ballroom in New York City, Myspace Music hosted 50 Cent and the G-Unit crew before a packed venue of Fif’s core audience. Surprisingly, nothing too controversial came out of 50’s mouth, but Beans did come out to perform “I Go Off”. Check out the clip from Thisis50.

People can say whatever they want about the numbers.. But when there are 3 different sets of numbers floating around out there and the record was #1 on itunes for a full week I refuse to believe that it only sold 46k copies in 2 weeks on itunes and less than 100k of the actual physical version, REALLY!?!
The truth will come out soon…. Someone had to fall on their sword and it was 50! WTG Ivoine…
You can buy that but I’m not….
This fix was in and the best thing that can come out of this is that its 50’s last album on Interscope who has fucked up the numbers of the las 5 G Unit projects!!

sorry but Get Rich or Die Trying sold that many copies not because of Em but because majority bc of its context. That album wasnt just a good album it was a movement in the hood!

I think his # are more of an indication that baby by me was not the right single,,,,,, its not even like the rest of the album,,, the truth is that outside of I get money(and thats due more to the production)50 has droped dud singles,,, Amusement park was not it,,, neither was get up,,,, none of the songs he’s putting out there are on the level of in the club candy shop disco inferno ect,,,, I like the album as a whole just because no one is doin albums like this one,,, and I think thats a valid point he makes,,,, eveyone else is rapping about living his lifestlye,,, and thats wack to me

If 50 came out with the same get rich or die trying, and it was produced by say Primo, or Eric Sermon, or Say even JMJ. It would have never gone diamond! Those sayin it sold cause of content, and not primarily cause of the Dre./Em production hype is crazy!!!!
And there is a decrease in his sales cause like what was previously mentioned…that new curious crowd aint new and curious anymore!!!! and true hood music get sold on the streets via bootleg.
I give 50 some props though. He did get rich, and thats the plan at the end of the day. As long as bro dont blow his money, he’s good.

Well the final numbers are in. Dude sold 156,000. Damn!!!!! He sold less than Ross the first week!!!

Good show, lame interview sounded like alot of excuses to me. When ever an album doesn’t sell Hip-hop artist are always quick to blame the label but when they go platinum it’s because they’re so great.
Take some responsibility for your product man, you made a good album you got trash numbers I guess people aren’t as interested in your music anymore as much as you thought. You tried to peek interest in that album by using your usual tactics of trumped up beef and controversy and the artist Jay-Z you tried to bait into said beef wasn’t falling for it like others have. Because well frankly he’s bigger then you and doesn’t need you or your controversy in anyway to sell records like Joe or Ja or Game might have.
Jay battled Nas now win or lose that’s up to opinion but he battled Nas and at least survived and actually got nothing but more successful since. 50’s no Nas not even on Nas planet, so what does Jay have to prove stepping down a weight class so to speak go get a fight. 50’s the challenger if anything he needs to step up a class, and get his lyrics game together take on and win a few respectable matches before going for the top guy. 50 can’t out rap Beans and he wants to battle Jigga LOL.
Now to blame bootlegs is even more lame then blaming the label. Pirate sales or leaking of music is something that every artist in every genre has to deal with it’s not just a 50 problem it’s a Jay problem Kanye problem Wayne problem as well but they all seemed to do there numbers. Could it be because they create a product that sparks actual interest in the music, and not just interest based on who the songs are talking about. Ah well I guess the battle is over then like Jay said:

I wonder how the folks at Interscope and Shady/Aftermath are feeling after they dropped all those MARKETING DOLLARS on the ACTUAL ALBUM where the AGGRESSIVE CONTENT…OF THE ACTUAL PROJECT.
I guess we’ll never know THE ACTUAL feeling of the label, until 50 cent, releases a verbal statement indicating why he’s numbers are so low from this ACTUAL PROJECT, was it that the GENERAL PUBLIC is not anticipating 50 like they used to or their just sick of his ACTUAL antics, or could it just be, that it took them 5-6 years to finally figure out that he was ACTUALLY full of ACTUAL sh*t…all this ACTUAL time.

They are artist that became business men =) so let’s just enjoy the music and enjoy the level of heat that hip hop is given us, Both albums are hot jays and 50. JAYZ on the other hand, this makes him more happy, on dec4 he will be 40 and still relevant to the game and his album will continue to sell, his marriage will hopefully become even more stronger, his concerts will sell out faster than they ever done and his next album will sell without hardcore promotion. who you referring to? Do you know why Jay z is so powerful in the NJ nets business deal? not because he is part owner because the shares that he holds is far less than many of the owners.. If he wasnt relevant or didnt have nothing going of outside that deal no one would pay his share that much attention. Tell me 2 other part owners in that deal? 50’s making excuses. The people/fans that support artists don’t care about awards. So now 50 wants us to believe that he only focused on numbers because he wasn’t winning awards? GRODT was acclaimed for the great work it was.It’s been a steady decline into more commercialized materialized music. To say anything is insulting the intelligence of his fans.

I’m starting think if this was plan by 50, I mean did he want this project to fail.
I can’t understand someone like 50 selling 160K, I know he knows and can tell that the music business is changing as far as content goes.
I listen to the album and it was good, but what other singles did he think would come out after “Do You Think About Me” that are radio friendly.
I heard better mixtapes from 50 cent that had more radio friendly songs than the ones that are on BISD.
Could 50 not give a F^ck about this album selling, since it was he’s last one on Interscope.
His he mad at Interscope for dropping Banks And Yayo from Interscope after all of the money he made and album he sold for them…they still have Game on the label, someone he help shaped into the artist that he his today.
I mean if was 50 cent, and I found out that I was going to sell 160k my first week, I would buy a few more records.
I mean he has to know the humiliation that’s going to come from him selling so little record, or just does not give a f^ck.
I mean one thing to look at is, since when has a 50 cent album ever leak almost a month in advance.

Well,what’s the point in buying your own records? you will still be losing money(be it excess money or not).
Many rappers albums leaks a month or 3weeks before and yet they dont make excuses for their low sales. Game’s LAX leaked like a month before too and yet he sold over 200,000 copies first week or more(i might be wrong on the numbers but he did sell more than 156,000),so it will be wise for him to just admit defeat on first week sales and try a different strategy on bitching about other rappers.

Don’t really like 50 as an overall artist in general, but BISD was a hell of a lot more listenable than the last two sorry excuses for weed plates he’s released. Call me crazy, but I feel like 50 should be commended a little more.
Yeah he talks a lot of trash, and yeah it’s nice to see him eat his own shit after all of the typical stunts he’s been known to pull over and over again. But on the real, I’m a little sad for the genre of hip-hop. Again, as someone who is far from a 50 fan, I kinda dug the album, and I feel like it’s not getting the credit it deserves as being a fairly solid release. This whole shitstorm has turned into something that isn’t even about the music anymore… AT THE END OF THE DAY (gag) it’s about making good music. Fuck the drama. Props to 50 for putting out an album that he obviously took in a direction he felt people wanted from him, (AGGRESSIVE CONTENT) it’s just a shame that he gets so much backlash from his antics, which eventually overshadows the music.

@nickey–you’re right, ain’t no one going to believe 50, or anyone else that’s attained his level of success, that he’s still out in the streets shootin people up. but the truth is, that’s what (most) 50 cent fans want from 50 cent: shoot-em-up gutter shit, even if 50 is as far from the gutter as he possibly can be, chillin with bette midler in parks and shit like that. but, like i said, i gotta give props to dude on one hand, because he knows that’s what music fans want from him, and honestly, he just doesn’t have the capacity to make an experimental album like jay or kanye. 50 knows his lane, and i’d rather have an album full of (decently) well-done gangster rap than an album full of “gangster love” songs. they’re both going to be nothin but lies, but that’s the only type of music he seems to be capable of making. however, you can’t say jay isn’t completely off the street shit. he still throws a line or two in here and there about shootin niggaz that come test him, etc. jay just is a hell of a lot more versatile than 50, and i think even 50 knows this.

Its not that the record was relaease before its scheduled time. It was because all that BS 50 did in between.
