Well, if you learn anything from hip hop, its that friendships are fleeting. How many times have we seen Lil Wayne grinning and gripping with DJ Khaled on tv, in Ozone, on youtube? (I’m asking because I actually have no idea….sometimes I tune out posse cuts and songs with unnecessary yelling.)

So, what exactly is happening in this photo taken from the set of the “Out Here Grinding” video? The DJ Khaled song, featured Akon, Rick Ross, Plies, Trick Daddy, Lil Boosie, Lil Wayne and Ace Hood. But that is a Lil Wayne lookalike, and now there’s a new version of the song where Lil Wayne is replaced by Young Jeezy…..hmmmm.

The day after Summerjam, DJ Khaled shot the video for his latest mega-collabo out in Brooklyn. The folks at Street Knowledge TV shot footage of the video set here and here.

But while everyone with a neck tattoo or a sham romance to promote showed up to the shoot to get some cameratime with Khaled, Lil Wayne was already on a plane down South. Apparently he was due on set for that Forrest Whitaker movie. Did Khaled’s video crew know this? As you see, Weezy’s name was still tentative on the shoot schedule. But this Weezy-lookalike (NJ promoter Var of Kamakazii Entertainment) was recruited backstage at Summerjam to be a “stunt double” for the dread-headed rapper. Were his scenes being shot as a supplement or….as a total replacement for Wayne’s no-show? (Meanwhile, on the shot-list below, Jeezy was also scheduled to be in this video. Was that before his new verse was added?)

Insiders say that when Weezy found out about the stand-in, he blew up, and voila…now we have a new version of the song sans Weezy and instead with Jeezy. Will it make any difference on the song? Doubtful. There’s already 6 other people on there. The song will still bang in the clubs (and probably only 2 out of 6 verses at a time). The larger issue is…is the whole Weezy-Khaled friendship a wrap because of a scheduling conflict?

Ah, the rap game is a “fickle bitch.” (c) Ben Linus

This whole thing = multi-culti Laguna Beach. Also, in hindsight, I’m clearly devoting way too much energy to this. But its 7am, and I just had an large coffee.
