Much Good Music: new Ghostface, and Joell Ortiz Covers the Classics

The internets are flooded with new music, much of it good. Some of it great. Like this new Ghostface feat. Ron Browz, which is obviously another treat from Ghost’s upcoming rap-r&b collabo album.

And I like this Joell Ortiz Covers the Classics mixtape. For one, Joell has the skill and sincerity to do justice on classics like Pete Rock and CL Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y.,” Mobb Deep’s “Drop a Gem on Em,” Ice-T’s “High Roller” (lol) and one of my favorite Biggie songs of all time, his collabo with Method Man “The Whut.” (sidebar: I recently watched a video of another cover…which um, I didnt like so much, so I’m glad this worked out better.)
And on a related note…equally genius is this mixtape cover. Are you analyzing this?! I love it!

UPDATE: The homie Combat Jack sent me a link to his blog, where he waxed combative about this mixtape…well, actually more so because it seems Joell commented on his not-so-gushing Eminem “Relapse” album review….*pulls up loveseat and opens up cheetos bag*
