MTV’s Hottest MC List: Did Eminem deserve a slot more than (insert name here)?
Posted by Miss Info under crony-ism , good for hip hop , not good for hip hop , quotes , things I'm not sure about yet , videos[222] Comments
Oh man…Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
MTV named the remaining top spots on their annual MTV Hottest MC’s in the Game list tonite:
#1: Jay-Z
#2: Lil Wayne
#3: Drake
#4: Kanye West
So…if you remember, the rest of the list is:
#5: Rick Ross
#6: Gucci Mane
#7: Young Jeezy
#8: Fabolous
#9: 50 Cent
#10: Raekwon
The top 4 is fine to me, but…
If folks put their regional biases and their standards for “artistic” excellence aside (just look in the comments for the ridiculous suggestions)….one could still make a strong argument that some of the MCs here don’t deserve the particular slot they’re in (or one at all?).
The easiest way to illustrate this…is by simply asking if each one of these MC’s deserves their slot instead of Eminem.
I’m not even a Eminem superfan, I prefered Cuban Linx 2 to Relapse. But I wouldn’t deny his marquee power…
In a Hollywood comparison, he’d be Tom Cruise here. Embattled, but still able to green-light a project with one nod, and still a scene-stealer in Tropic Thunder. For example, Eminem was the unknowing cornerstone of the “Forever” supercollabo, and he was the center of the MTV Movie Awards publicity cycle, lol.
Just my 2 cents…ok, back to watching Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and more on that Curbed.
PS: We’re all gonna agree to disagree, but in the comments, please don’t stoop to going overboard with the personal insults (towards the MTV crew, towards each other, or lil’ ole me, lol)…it doesn’t make your point more persuasive, it just makes my job harder. Thanks friends : )

HAAAAA LLoyd Banks and Joe Budden?? They arent even relevant anymore! That was a good one.. Slaughterhouse is cool, but its debatable that he was the best in the group! Rick Ross was the biggest joke on there.. Em coulda easily been number 5 instead although Relapse was a dissapointment

So Relapse 2 wasn’t that good? The White boy can fucking out hip hop all of those dudes on the fucking list and only Andre 3000 can compete with him PERIOD BAR NONE and he drops and album moves 3 million units and dont make the list?
THIS SHIT IS A FIX!!
Lots of Def Jam jimmy lick’n and if 50 wasn’t from NY he wouldn’t have been on the list!!
Name Jay-Z’s version of 50 Cent? AND DONT SAY KANYE BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVE TO ACCOUNT FOR 50 NUMBERS!! This is crazy to me.. fake swag wins! we are in the passive aggressive culture!! Next year Nicki Manaj will make the list..
Gucci + Rick Ross = better than Eminem
Drake + Lil Wayne = Bigger Movements Then Eminem
Jay Z = Better artist than Eminem? Best of this Era? GTFOH
NO REALLY GTFOH!!!

Ok Info, I’ve composed myself! But I have a question for you so pls take a second to answer it…
What are the top 10 movements in hip hop right now? How would you list the top 10 acts that attract the most national and international attention in hip hop and who would be in that list? Mine is Eminem, 50 Cent, Wayne, Kanye… Jay-Z doesnt have a movement he has a marketing blitz that makes him over talked about…
Right now Wale is fucking HOT.. dude did the music for the VMA’s, first single with the current pop queen Lady Gaga is on the late night shows and he’s lyrically talented but what hes not doing what Gucci is doing if not more? And Joe Budden a dude who fought the industry and still made radio and internet say his name this year doesnt qualify? Ok so now lets leave Gucci on the list but can someone explain why the fuck is Rick Ross there? Didn’t 50 steal his hottness with Pimp Curly?? He’s not better than Buddenor Wale on the Mic and Budden is all over radio stations all over the country!!WITHOUT Sylvia Rhone persoanlly pushing them on stations!!
This is has payola written all over it.. there is no part of this selection that was objective or honest.. What Jay-Z is #1 for Empire State of Mind, which I like but I would probably like it even more if his voice wasn’t on it because lyrically it trash has no value to it.. so maybe I should make Alica Keys #1 Hottest Mc in the game because her voice makes that track…
Its only a list not life of death but its soo jaded and political that its not event funny.. Some how they all forgot that 50 did 1.1 million in 4 days!!

Hmm wasn’t sure I was crying anything lol but if its not payola then whatelse can it be?
The online fan poll was completely ignored… Or Joe Budden would have at least been number 10!
Damn near the entire list has a motown-def jam connection..
How has Drake been pushed and who was the boss of that debacle, Rhone?
I refuse to think this entire list was constructed from personal feelings/Relationships and that they took these names and placed them based on a gut reaction and comfort level.. Even though none of those guys deserve any credit at all I have to give them a little more credit than that… Dont you?

There does seem to be a cliche number of “excuses” people spit just cuz they don’t like what they see.
Not to mention certain peoples own personal bias vs. particular artists.

Cut Mtv some slack, the list is about 70% accurate as i see it.Just becoz Em had a top selling album don’t give him divine right to be on the list.EM is by far a better MC than most people on the list, but remember we talking about being hot right about now.
Relapse had temperature it never materialized to hot.Being lyrical so be it,if nobody bumping it heavy rotation at the end of the day -
Em is in danger of becoming like Nas.
On the realer,Em’s Relapse is what Kingdom come was to Jay= LUKEWARM

eminem should have been on that list even if not #1 he should have been top 5. he IS one of the hottest rappers this year. he has got the biggest selling rap album this year, and he killed everyone on forever.

I really feel Eminem got robbed here. I know everybody works hard and such, but according to the criteria MTV supplied(rhyme, flow, impact, business, radio, and sales) Eminem should not only have been up on the list, but Top 5. 2009 was huge for Eminem, yet no mention. Seems rather suspect to me.

How can you not speak negatively about MTV though? They have absolutely ZERO credibility with anything music related. It’s a sham that they’re still called “Music Television” for a number of reasons (one of them being the fact that they rarely play music anymore)

I only watched the Gucci clip to find out their reasoning on rating him number whatever he got (Because Gucci is the damn man). The discussion on putting who at what spot didn’t seem too convincing. I probably should have viewed the other 9 clips on why MC so-and-so got whatever rank, but I’ll tell you this much:
Jeezy didn’t have an album in ‘09. The “My President” single definitely had some buzz to start ‘09 (around Obama). “Who Dat” came and went as well. So to say Eminem wasn’t as hot as Jizzle for ‘09 after having an album that sold Platinum in three weeks, everyone buzzing over his verse with 3 of the Top 5 on MTV’s list and quite possibly the diss track of ‘09 is worthy of a revisit.
To me, this list sounds more of a “Hottest MCs of the past quarter” than of 2009. And maybe I’m a complete Gucci stan, but for someone who didn’t even put an LP out and has been only getting major label support since getting out of jail for a few months to be in the Top 10…those other 9 MCs have work to do.

Speaking relatively about 2009, I know Em sold, but he really didnt have impact singles or street bangers on that album. Its hard to say whose spot he should take. He’s in an all-or-nothing position so if he wasn’t top 5 you couldn’t put him in the bottom 5, you might as well leave him off.
I dont have any real gripes on the list… I think Gucci Mane is the hottest down south rapper of 09, even with DTR droppin by Rick Ross. So maybe him #5 and Ross #6. Other than that the list is cool.

hmm…that’s an interesting position…like if he’s not top 5, he should just be off? But I look at the fact that the guy is still a major mover, like he can turn something into a major news story with just his participation….whether its him helping out at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductions, or being in Funny People, or the Movie Awards, or whatever….

that being said, i agree with you info–em should be somewhere up there. the fact that gucci mane, in particular, is up there baffles me. the only thing i know about him that occurred in the last year or so was that he did some song with mariah (which i have no inclination to hear) and the dispute he had with jeezy. but hey, maybe i’m out of touch.

I actually thought they would have dropped Rae to make room for Eminem. I question if the Mixtapes and Features of a Gucci makes him hotter then Em for many of the reasons Info already mentioned. So by this list in 09′ Ric Ross was hotter then 50 and Em? Damn.
They clearly put a lot of stock in the past few months(summer) more so then the entire year so far as a whole.
Oh well, time to sit back and watch the fantics react.

I really give all hip hop at least a half a listen, and this is kinda puzzling to me. Maybe it’s the criteria:
eminem did huge numbers with almost nothing at radio, and had people putting his verse as the best on “forever”
shoot me for saying it, but didn’t Soulja Boy make a ton of noise in the past year? I know the music isn’t MC-ing in the classic sense, but is it any worse than Gucci?
Jim Jones?
Rik Ross got embarassed in the eyes of both hip hop and the mainstream, and is the 5th hottest?
Lot of suspect pics, but the em omission is the most glaring

based on what he has put out this year alone, I can see why he may have been left off.
yea he had the best verse on “forever” but thats it. Relapse was good, but nothing on it really stands out to me. He had that wack ass 1st single. He hasn’t dropped a mixtape this year. His records dont bang at clubs or parties. Hot97 dont even play his records like that. Lyrically yes he is better than 99.9% of the list. But he is not that hot right now.

Ugh @ Eminem not being on there. Ugh @ me being surprised at anything MTV says pertaining to hip-hop that I don’t agree with.
Ross, Fab & 50 are definitely looking suspect, only because Em is missing. I wonder if Young Juiceman was #11…
Em can still digest anybody on this list, so it’s not like this changes anything, but if I were his publicist, I’d be pretty pissed.

i dont think eminem deserved to be on the list dont get me wrong he’s one of the dopest MC’s in the game but i feel like he didnt produce the album that we were all looking for thats just my opinion
but for argument sake i feel joe budden should of been at least number 10 on this list just of the fact that he is one of the hardest workers in hip hop he dropped 3 solo albums (halfway house, padded room, escape route) and a group album with slaughter house. He single handlely created a even larger buzz wit joe budden tv (with the help of Tahirys FAT ASS BOOTY, lol) and won a couple of Beefs (ransom, Saigon)… am i correct ?

I thought that overall Slaughterhouse could have been on there….because of what they represented for independence and web hip hop. But maybe Rae also fulfilled that. I think Fab amd Jada were interchangeable too because they both accomplished the same thing as NYC longtime staples who proved that they could still sell in a market of fads. I think 50 sort of symbolized the music artist without the music, but with everything else around him….And I def recognize Gucci’s place.

YEa but another issue, Miss Info.. Is that MTV is using the word “MCs”.. Mainstream artists arent exactly MCs, its hurting the word.. I mean, Nas, Rakim, artists like that are what you would think of as Mcs.. So I can see why fans get upset when you see Gucci Mane as the 6th hottest MC, for example.

honestly, I never subscribed to that debate about MC vs rapper….I know that there’s a purist argument for it. But just for the sake of not using the same word over and over, alot of journalists interchange the 2.

thats what i dont get about this list all together.. we can all turn on Z100 and hear who’s playing, it doesnt take a round table and MTV special to tell me that ye, drake, jay, and wayne are the most commercially visible rappers this year.. the true hip hop debate has always been the same, who’s the nicest. MTV is confusing the audience with this “hotness” thing that no one is really buying..

The only issue I have with Eminem is that when he drops an album, that’s kind of all he does. He droped this album and that was like it outside of a few videos that didn’t get much airplay. They just dropped the “Forever” record which is a banger, but thats really it for Em.
On another thought, I didn’t like the way the setup of the show was set up. You know in previous years, they had more of a debate amongst themselves which made it more interesting. They were taking people off the list, switching them around thats what made it fun to watch. For Eminem name not to even come up in their conversation bothers me.

yea very good point that’s 1 of the things I liked about it in the past few years to was how they would take artists and switch them around or take them off & have more of a debate as I mentioned the other day when Miss Info posted about Ross being on the list
I think Jay @ #1 is accurate but after looking @ most of the rest of the list I would take & replace more then half the list
My list
1. Jay dropped on an independent for 1st time & still sold pretty well. Started Roc Nation. Proved @ his age he could still make hot music with 1 of the best albums of the year. Yea it wasn’t CLASSIC but it was still hot & has many possible singles on it including arguably the hottest track of the year in Empire State of Mind.
2. Em Yea his album didn’t live up to the hype but it was still pretty good for the most part. Plus the appearances he made throughout the year on high profile things such as the DJ Hero concert with him & Jay! Inducting Run-DMC into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
3. Kiss This album proved that Kiss is 1 of the best in the game! Plus he brought dope singles & videos like Letter To Big, By My Side & Can’t Stop Me. He also made 1 of the biggest moves ever by aligning w/ Jay & the ROC! He also killed every guest from My Conglomerate, Hottest In The Hood to New York Minute. Not to mention putting out a CLASSIC mixtape w/ Green Lantern & also being behind 2 of the biggest reunions of the year by having The L.O.X. reunite with Diddy & the Ruff Ryders reunion.
4. Ye Yea his last album was more R&B but he did make a few frequent guest spots here & there rapping that got him on the list! When he raps he’s on point especially on tracks like Run This Town, Kinda Like A Big Deal & Knock You Down.
5. Rae Arguably the best solo album of the year with the CLASSIC OB4CL2. Also released a solid mixtape & stays real active with his fans by making frequent connections with them through twitter, in-store signings & tours. Plus killed it with his guest verse on Cartel Gathering as well as other frequent guest spots throughout the year. Did it independently on his own label H20 well still maintaining his hard-core fan base!
6. Fab Proved to fans he’s a mainstay heavyweight in not only NY but Hip-Hop with his album Loso’s Way. Plus he had a pretty solid mini-movie to accompany the album. Made a lot of guest spots that he really did his thing on wheter it be a Hip-Hop or R&B record from Hottest In The Hood, She Got Her Own to Addiction. Opened for Jay-Z on a few tour dates over the summer.
7. Twista One of the hottest emcees there is that never gets his just due. Twista went independent & started his own label GMG where he houses up & coming future great Skooda Chose who’s also from Chicago. He released arguably his best work since Kamikaze with his new album Category F5 that’s a real solid album that got him working back with The Legendary Traxster for the 1st time in a while. Killed guest verses such as Midwest Choppers 2 & Loungin. Reunited to his roots by having tracks with fellow Chicago legends Johnny P, Do Or Die & Buk of Psychodrama that turned out real solid tracks.
8. Budden Put out 3 solid efforts in Halfway House, Padded Room & Escape Route. Plus he did it on a never before heard of label Amalgam Digital yet they still all turned out great. Has one of the biggest presence on the internet plus is always connecting with his fans. His Joe Budden TV is pretty entertaining to plus he made his former GF Tahiry into a star with it!
9. T.I. Has made a lot of noise throughout the year even with going to jail. I think he’s the most I have heard from an artist going into jail & even while in jail since Pac. Sorry to have to make that comparison but it’s true. He had a reality show on MTV where he helped kids get out of situations similar to what he faced growing up. He still has pretty hot tracks being released well he is in jail and not with just anybody but MJB like Remember Me. Not to mention he has his label being held down & he has a VH1 Behind The Music special about to be released.
10. Nas Hasn’t made to many frequent appearances since last year’s album but I think like the year they included Andre 3K on the list after dropping 1 verse. This is a same case scenario since Nas killed it on one of the best tracks of the year in Kiss’ What If & Usual Suspects off Ross’ album. Not to mention the tracks he previewed on the Rock The Bells tour coming from his upcoming collaboration album with Damian Marley are real solid to.
I would have included Ghost on the list to but he hasn’t been active enough except for within the past few weeks it seems.

I totally feel ya Miss info I’m not the biggest Em fan either but I feel like that he should’ve been there somewhere on the list not top 5 I agree with you on that feels about right, but he should’ve had a slot just cause of his over all star power even if he hasn’t been particularly scorching the hip-hop seen in recent times he always has the ability to pack a stadium make news and steal a scene. Your the best Miss Info I’m sorry the over zealous clowns on this blog are making your job tougher with there offensive and angry comments, some people just take things way to seriously and have such a narrow view of things they often come off sounding ridiculous. Sorry Info I appreciate what you and the peeps at MTV do on a daily basis.

Eminem deserves to be on the list. MTV is just trying to generate controversy or are gonna pull some sort of stunt/surprise. SMH at some people actually falling for this shit and agreeing with Em not being on there, even if you dont like him I cant see how he’s not top five. Best selling album, internet goes crazy for him, everyone talking about him now.

#4 Kanye
#5 Em
#6 Raekwon
#7 Fabolous

ya know what Joe C, I think you might have my fav list so far except I’m not with you on the Nas thing I wouldn’t exactly call him hot even when he has an album out I wouldn’t call him hot don’t get me wrong the mans an all time great but he hasn’t been really Hot since like 98 LOL, If you really wanna be honest with your self. However it really tells you alot about his fan base and staying power that he can remain so relevant in hip-hop with out any real form of buzz or hype around his music kinda like a Mos def for example shit the only thing hot about Nas’s career lately has been his much talked about divorce then reconciliation and his crazy album titles even more so then his actual albums LOL. I feel better suited for Nas’s spot on your list would be TI the man crushed the radio this year prob had the biggest single in hip-hop for the last few years “Swagger Like Us” He even had my mom saying swagger! which made me sick I fucking hate that word LOL. But TI really did big things this year even his legal issues helped keeping hot if you really look at it. He was constantly on the news and parled the trial into a hit TV show on MTV now that’s hot… And 50 should be at the bottom of the list he’s always relevent in some way weather through beef or video skits so he’s on there but musicly lets be honest the dude threw shit on the wall until something stuck he’s songs have been trash

50 still cant find a legit single for his new album flight 187 eh have a baby by me it’s ok but it aint burning the charts or itunes the way DOA did or Live your life or even Heatless so I’m feeling its gonna be another long hard year for 50 like it was 2 years ago when Kanye wooped his ass with graduation and last year when Kanye played him again just the way I like it, all with out saying a word just dropping 808’s when 50 publicly laughed at Ye for making the album and Ye he just sat back as that album stayed on charts all year, did great numbers got, used in TV shows commercials and so on and 50 still looking for that hit so yeah he’s # 10 until he actually does something musicly that makes EVERYONE take notice not just 12 random dudes in a NY. Crack the top 10 on itunes this year then talk to me

Idk bout Nas not being hot since 98.. Thats crazy.. Untitled got critical acclaim from anybody that loves hip-hop.. And just on his guest verses alone he proves his skills are still second-to-none.. Im not a big TI fan but he still did his thing, I woulda had him in top 15 but I think him being away hurts hs name being out there this year.. Once he comes back and drops an album he will be back like he was before, but right now hes on the bubble with artists like Jeezy, Joe Budden, and Rick Ross, who I didnt add to my list.
wow...not hot...LOL!!! Reply:

Please…what the f*ck is a buzz when you ain’t talking about shit…Nas is hotter than half the artists that made the list! Nas is under appreciated…but yet his albums go platinum + or gold + in this sh*tty music climate…when being whack beats talent!!!! Mos Def has not even went silver! Nas is HOT and only a hater would think he is not…but yet you say T.I is hot because he got arrested and went to jail and the media and hip hop fans (such as yourself) glorified his incarceration into some kind of celebration and then you have the nerve to say even though 50 Cent’s music is basically crap…he is hot because he stays with the whack a** beefing and cartoon skits…LOL! But Nas is not hot…GTFOOH with that bullsh*t! Nas has been in the game for 15 + years and sales more albums than half the artists on that list with out commercial radio or a media blitz behind him…that is pretty damn HOT for a 15 year veteran who is still lyrical and considered one of the GOAT’s if not the GREATEST! The fact that his album titles and content generates much anticipation states how relevant and Hot he is still in 2009!

Well Joe C since you clearly stated at the start of your reply that you don’t know what the term Buzz means then you obviously don’t understand the point of the list, therefore I felt no need to read the rest of your reply as I am sure it will be filled with non sense babbling about lyrics and under rated MC’s and this guy is real and the other guy is not… All and all just a waste of time. It’s a list about who’s hot, who has more buzz right now not who’s a better rapper lyricist exc… But as I stated since you don’t know what that means as evident by your statement then you clearly don’t get it.

Eminem had the highest selling debut album this year. Not just in hip-hop, but in music period. It’s over 2 mil. sold. He won best hip-hop video. He murdered everyone on ‘Forever’, and everyone was talking about ‘The Warning’. Everything he participates in becomes a headline story. Also, Wayne went off to make a rap album and Kanye’s last album was RnB. I loved 808’s, but it wasn’t hip-hop. They had a poll where they wanted viewers to vote and they said that our voices would be heard. Well Eminem won in a land-slide. What was the point of the poll for then? It doesn’t make any sense.

true hip hop fans shouldnt read too much into this list just as we dont read into the grammys.
although 50 didnt have albums out this yr, he was still relevant with his mixtapes which had hits on them. so for him to be listed under ROSS and DRAKE? hmmmm. Jay #1 i dont know i guess as far as “prestige” who else would you give it to? but im not liking the “new jay z sound”
an MC may not be considered hot to the masses but to true fans they are…thats why i think the list is hilarious
too bad Ghostface album was out earlier in the yr so he could of been “on the list”
my list
#1: Lil Wayne
#2: Jadakiss
#3: Jay Z
#4: Kanye West
#5: Fabolous

Yeah…but that argument doesn’t necessarily mean film critics know what they are talking about either…I think that’s a valid point. I think its interesting to note the level of experience or degree of immersion in the culture that different critics have, no matter what the artform is. Such observations, I think, allow the readers/listeners/viewers to make more informed decisions about how much credence a critic’s opinion should be lent. I think that any critic who has ciphered/battled/ or produced/arranged/written songs may be in a better position to be a critic. At the very least, we would get a different, unique perspective.

I need a Hip Hop album that is more challenging than a Dr. Seuss book. Not to sleep on the brilliance in Dr. Seuss or compare it to the tridash that is half of the list above.
So if they stated HOW this list was created, we might fall back and nod in agreeance. i.e. there is no argument for Rick Ross being hot.. he had one hot song 3-4 years ago.
Fabolous is hot because he came out with an album? *confused*
Raek might be hot because he came out with an album, dolo and follwoing up a classic HH album but Fab? nahhh

Wow….I’m not too surprised by the top four seeing there was no way to have none of them on the list. But no Em from 5-10? It’s hard for me to say who would get the shaft out of Rick Ross, Gucci, Jeezy, Fab, 50, and Rae the Chef, but leaving off Em I think is pretty ridiculous.
To be honest, I don’t know much about Gucci nor am I the biggest fan of Rick Ross, but in spite of that, how could they ignore Eminem coming out of “retirement?”
It’s funny, from how I’ve looked at MTV’s relationship with Em, you’d think they were squirrels being all up on his nuts, yet they leave him off this list. And if they’re going to include 50 on the merit that in addition to some hot mixtapes, 50 has thisis50.com and has done movies, then why not the same perspective on Em? Like you said Miss Info, Em had a cameo in Funny People, did that semi guest spot on Family Guy, etc.
I dunno. Whatever I guess.

This particular list became irrelevant as soon as Gucci and Rick Ross got on it. Few of the other ones were interchangeable with other rappers but after what we learn about Rick Ross do we really think he will ever be where he was last year again?? Gucci is great but that guy has no crossover appeal. Your grandmother will not buy his record so unless he makes a Blueprint type album and solidifies his place in hip hop he is gone next year. To me they were the biggest jokes on that list. 50 needs to earn his spot in hip hop music he’s a boss outside of hip hop but he needs to get back to basics I would have made him number 10 just to let him know we like the direction but he needs to do better. Eminem should have been 2 he is definitely bigger than Wayne. My list would have looked like this
1. Jay-Z
2. Eminem
3. Wayne
4. Kanye West
5. Drake
6. Young Jeezy
7. Jadakiss
8. Joe Buddens
9. Ludacris or Fabolous
10. 50 Cent
I think this list you can argue placement but you can’t deny that any of these people deserve a spot. Year after year MTV has failed to make a list where everyone deserves their spot, and that’s why they suck!

Hate to answer as question with a question but if your gonna ask that then, What does Wayne, Rick Ross, or Jeezy have Hot right now? At the very least Em has a album that went platinum in the last 6 months, song with all of the hottest rappers on it and everyone says Eminem had the hottest verse and the most talked about part of the music video for it. Em is readying a new album. When Em does drop a new song it will be big and that is undeniable, and that can’t be said for Drake or Weezy.

If I may be the voice of dissent…
What’s the point of this list? To tell me who has the most marketing dollars in this rap shit right now? The ones with the radio play? Sway and them aren’t analyzing rhymes or talking about beats, subject matter, insight… stuff that actually makes for worthy commentary.
Aren’t the emcees’ ‘hotness’ already common knowledge? It’s not like anyone on that list is debatable, especially when MTV solicited the thoughts of youngns around the country, who will only know what’s on radio anyway. If these emcees are already ‘hot’, then what does it matter what MTV thinks? Does the MTV cosign make them hotter? Will their hotness matter a couple months from now?
Can someone explain this to me? I’m seeing some “the sky is blue” shit right now.
Unless MTV decided they wanted to capitalize on the recent success of BP3/Drake’s EP/Taylor Swift hoax (hoax, yeah I said it. lol) and get their name out while the iron’s hot.

I just want to state facts. Eminem had the most anticipated album in years. Noone was talking about the Blueprint3 until after Em came out with Relapse. When he dropped the “im having a relapse” freestyle everyone was bumping it. When Relapse came out he sold more then anyone out at the time and still to this minute of 2009. He had the freestyle of the year on Tim Westwood radio. He brang his hardcore lyrics in the second half of his album. “The Warning” showed everyone the man still has it. And his verse on “Forever” showed that he went up with the hottest in hip hop and schooled them. Eminem proved he is in a league of his own on “Forever” which should of propelled him into the top 2 automatically. Seriously 50 number 9? He had the hottest mixtapes of 2009 and he murdered officer Ricky… Smh….

I skimmed through some of the comments on this site, and I really don’t see why there is so much hate…This list isn’t biased at all, it actually is the most well rounded fair top 10 “Hottest” list I’ve seen in a while. I’ve seen other places where people are like: “OMG where is Mos Def?! Nas?! (insert other lyrical but not “hot” artist here)”.
People are not grasping that this is not only about lyrical content, but it’s about buzz, records sales, popularity, ect. ALONG with lyrical content and MC skills. Though I think it’s a good list, I would switch around a few names and just replace Raekwon with Em…
10. Eminem
9. Young Jeezy
8. 50 Cent
7. Fabolous (Glad he made the list,I always though Fab was slept on)
6. Rick Ross
5. Gucci Mane (Come on, go down the street, to the gas station, to the barber shop, then go back home and tell me you don’t hear Gucci at least 5 times)
4. Drake (Breakout artist of the year)
3. Lil Wayne
2. Kanye West
1. Jay-Z (Do I really need to explain? GOAT in my young mind)
Seriously people, I’m tired of hearing hip-hop elitist making top 10 “hottest as of now” list looking like:
10. Mos Def
9. Wu-Tang Clan
8. KRS-One
7. Public Enemy
6. Slaughterhouse
5. Rakim
4. Biggie
3. 2Pac
2. 2Pac
1. 2Pac
Look, no disrespect but it’s not realistic…yes, they may have more lyrical talent than most artist, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are not currently “Hot”…my 2 cents
Side note: MissInfo, why don’t you post what your top 10 would be…

I just don’t understand how Em goes from leading the thing to not being on the list at all. As much as I like him, Fab shouldn’t be on there. He made another good album as usual but I don’t think he stood out or was any kind of standard bearer this year. Rae should’ve nullified his appearance on the list. That’s Em’s spot right there.
Jay,Wayne,Drake,Kanye,Em,Gucci,Jeezy,Ross,50 and Rae should’ve been the list

It’s just one giant publicity stunt, to get all of us talking about MTV.
but don’t worry they’ll change the list around to get on your good side, and all will be forgiven…
btw, Em should be number 1
He has the highest selling hip hop album of the year(1 million world wide in the first week) after being away for 5 years
And he’s the highest selling artist of the decade
Best freestyles of the year
Best verse on forever
Best diss record of the year

LOL, MTV don’t need any of these rappers they need MTV. So stop saying MTV is trying to capitalize off these guys,FOR WHAT.
Dudes in the hood and urban communities don’t bump EM music. I haven’t heard an Eminem song in the club or on the radio in years. In matter of fact, I don’t know anyone who brought his last cd Relapse. Em is this generation MC Hammer/Vanilla Ice. Imagine MTV doing this list in 1990, MC Hammer or Vanilla Ice would of not make the list despite sales and air play on MTV just like Em.
This list was accurate from 1-9. I would replace Rae with Jadakiss.

This list represents the hottest form 1/1/09-9/09.
Hov is number one period. Who has a bigger buzz than him right know.
As for Gucci I understand but his buzz everywhere else thru america is bigger than 50 cent. reakwon spot should be repalced with either fabulous or or ross …..em really has no buzz who is talking about him period it was an alright album that some country or suburban kid who hates his life can relate too..

Im Not Making A List But Maybe Just MaybeThe Reason Eminem Didnt Get On The List Is Because He Doesnt Really Sit To Wellllll With MTV!
And Seriously No Soulja Boy??? If Its Really The Hottest… Soulja Boy Kinda Deserves A 9 Or 10 Spot.. Im Not Gonna Sit Here And HAte On The Kid But He Makes His Money If You Like Him Or Not
Rick Ross?? Uhmmmm Idk!! MTV Gotta Be Starting Something Up
No Tony Yayo, Asher Roth, Mase, Cam’ron, The Kid Who Raps In The BAthroom Of My College Every Morning.. No Way This List Is Absurd..
My Point Is We All Wish Someone You Really Listen To Everyday Was On The List But MTV Had Different Opinions And Views Then You And Im Sorry to Say They’re Opinion Counts In This Situation -____-

Id bet dollars that this list is tailored in some way to stir controversy, even though no one on the panel will have the balls to admit it- when else is MTV even mentioned other than their VMAs?. And whatever arguments are made as to the validity of this list Ive never seen anyone totally agree with it but Em’s omission seems to have garnered universal head shaking, even from his detractors.

Kayne shouldn’t be on the list on account of him not releasing an rap album in two years. And Drake should be number one, Wayne’s power is seriously waning(no pun, but I haven’t listened to Wayne and thought “maybe he is the best” since his 2007 glut of music) and Jay-Z has over a decade’s worth of power and credibility, whereas Drake is driving the world mad purely off of an overrated mixtape(that I liked, but it wasn’t an endall)and playing a dude in a show who gets shot and rides a wheelchair. I still like that whole top four. And I agree with the list as a whole, but people need to understand the list is largely insignificant. Popularity or “hotness” if you’re going with the lingo here fades with the clouds, those who are loved today are thrown off the plank tomorrow. Just enjoy the music.
Oh god, look at me writing a paragraph.

WOW @ some of these comments. This is an MTV list, with many contributing factors. I think everyone listed isn’t an emcee, artist, rapper, lyricist … its either one or two of the four, only 3 could maybe tack all 4 alongside their name.
My list would have been as follows:
Ye
Hov
Eminem
Drake
Slaughterhouse
Lil Wayne
Jadakiss
Rae
50 Cent
Rick Ross/Gucci/Fab/Plies
And this list is based on popularity/controversy/content and IMPACT IN 09. I don’t even STAN for Ye no more but he has all 4 of the aforementioned, down to a weird complicated SCIENCE.

Lil Boosie is better and hotter than Gucci, and he shouldn’t be on the list, you can take off Jeezy and Lil Wayne.
Insert JADAKISS or BUDDEN, Shit what about NIPSEY HUSSLE.

Regardless. The top 5 should be Jay-Z, Kanye, Wayne, Drake, Eminem in no particular order with the exception of Jay-Z being first. There are some questionable picks GUCCI mane? Fabo deserves a nod but so does Ludacris. Raekwon earned his spot and he desrved it. But how does someone like Andre 3000 make the 2007 list at spot #4 and 2008 at #10 with no album or mixtape just a few strong features, you can probably count all the features his did from 2007 to 09 on one hand and he gets recognized? MTV should do a whole show on why they kept Eminem completely off the list. How do you body the artists in slots 2,3,4 and not even get an honorable mention?

The truth is that in the end MTV WON!
This is the most I’ve paid attention to MTV in a awhile outside if the VMA antics. This list was not going to change too many opinions but only spark conversation no matter how extra some of y’all get with the comments.
This list is just a mainstream corporate version of what we’ve been doing on corners, lunch rooms and barber shops for years. And on none of those levels was everyone happy. When I say BIG you say Jay-Z. Someone say Andre 3000 another says Scarface. Some say Ice Cube other say LL. That’s the point of listing based on constantly changing variables.
MTV sets the bait every year and we all fall for it because they count on our love of this culture and music.
Everyone is online now correct. So maybe the bigger hip hop blog sites can facilitate something better.

And I dont even wanna waste my time listening to their justification for Rick Ross cuz there is none that makes any sense. Jada sold close to what Ross did without the promotion and he’s a much better MC. This list blows and as usual, is light on credibility.

I agree with not caring what ViacoMTV says but the reality is that the majority of music buying and listening America are nothing more that media driven lemmings and mindless trend following idiots. When they make a list out here this drives all the teeny-boppers and posers to run to I-Tunes and fill up on anything they mentioned here just to say they’re listen to what the network that invented the “GREATEST SHOW EVER” (sarcasam@thehills.net/notreallol)

1st things 1st, i hope this list doesn’t bring on more joe budden vlogs & blogs like the vibe list did.. another thing, why is everyone upset about a list that’s based on a group of individual’s opinion’s? so the list didn’t turn out the way that you may have liked it.. big deal, get over it.. everyone that’s on the list made noise this year. Rae, Jay, Fab, & Rick had dope albums. Jada’s album was hot too, but he’s not up there. Kanye, lil wayne & drake deserves their spot and im not big fans of none of those artist that were just mentioned but they make hot shit. Jeezy as well. Now for the 1 rapper that everyone believe’s does not deserve to be on this list is Gucci Maine. He’s definitely not a lyricist.. lmao!! He’s just a rapper.. But, even tho you can’t understand what he’s saying 80% of the time, has an annoying ass sidekick that says “A!!” every 3 seconds on every track that he’s on, talks about his jewelry and “trapping” all of the time, he was still Hot for 2009.. that’s just it, i mean he was on a track wit Mariah Carey.. lol the song that em was upset about, even tho he still talks about her on his latest album.. lol but yeah i wish everyone will stop getting “out of line” whenever eminem doesn’t get mentioned as one of the illest.. he’s hot but i can’t listen to somebody rap about their mom, wanting to kill their ex-wife, and all the other bullshit he raps about.. he’s nice but personally i don’t wanna hear that shit all of the time..

I disagree with a few comments on here; i feel lists like these are needed in Hiphop for various reasons, thats all i have to say about that.
But the thing about the list this year, the panel got larger, and no one seemed to disagree with the position placed whihc made the conversation a lil fake and taylored to me, the previous lists clearly made the panel a lil more sincere in there tabulating of the list.
And Gucci def. shouldn’t be on the list, and Em shoulda been at #2, and Wayne behind Drake and Kanye.

Relapes was wack. I’m an Em fan but that album hardly got any spins from me after the first week. no real singles. corny songs about getting raped by his father, etc, etc, for shock value. thats what Em is. he blew up on shock value. what he was saying about his mother, wife, etc, nobody said before. he had kids going crazy for talking bad about his mother. while he is nice, he got attention for his shock value and its not there anymore. he sells cause of his loyal fan base, not because the album was hot. it wasn’t. Not a Rick Ross fan but Ross put out more hits then Em. That real talk that Em stans won’t agree with.

I dont feel Relapse was wack but the songs on it were real hard to market is you weren’t a super die hard Em fan. I mean a fan that loves anything he does. I’m a fan of his lyrical skill but that silly ass voice he was using through the majority of the joint threw me off. He didn’t push the album much beyond the usual MTV and BET interviews. I liked 3a.m personally but I think it went over a few peoples heads….as did most of the album. The buzz and heat is there IF Em wants it. I feel like Relapse and his forever verse was him testing the waters before he really goes in….

Who knew these guys at MTV could spark suck emotional outbursts? The one thing everyone should walk away learning is that supporting your favorite artists is a very important. It’s no suprise that everyone that has commented on this post have their suggestions on who should be on the list. And it is also no suprise that in those suggestions, you have artists who get no support from their fans (with the exception of Eminem, I’ll address that in a sec). In this new age, we have more hip hop listeners but less fans. The difference between the 2 is that listeners just listen to the music and keep it moving. Listeners mostly download their music via limewire, utorrents, rapidshare, etc. After they collect the music they move on. Fans actually buy into the artists’ brand. They purchase the music, go to the concerts, support the artists’ other media ventures. For all of the people complaining about an artist they wanted on the list, did you go out and purchase the music or did you download it. I hear all this talk about Slaughterhouse and no one bought the CD. Blaming the staff over at MTV for making the list is incorrect. Blame yourselves for not supporting your favorite artists. In regards to Eminem, of course he deserves to be on the list. You don’t sell the amount of CD he sold this year and not get acknowledged. Unfortunately, I would have to sacrifice Fab for the sake of Slim. As much as I wanted to like Loso’s Way, something about it just didn’t click. The whole basing the album on a gangsta flic seems like it’s been done already (American Gangster) and done better than Fab’s effort. Throw It In The Bag wasn’t that great of a song. And When The Money Goes with just Jay-Z on the hook? Couldn’t even get a verse? Where was the BK love on that? And since Fab and Jada are interchangable in that particular slot, they could be removed for Em. If anything positive came from this year with Fab is that he’s showing everyone that he has a sharp sense of humor which works well with his Twitter game. So everyone go out and support your favorite artists and spread their gospel and maybe next year they might make it onto the list.

My top MCs of the “Year”
1. Kanye – had one of the best tours all year, stayed relevent by having some of the best features all year. Alot of people appreciated 808s and hearbreaks. Kanyes name and stlye was EVERYWHERE this year.
2. Jayz – solid album, solid album sales. Stayed relevent all year. had solid radioplay with singles like DOA, run this town, empire state of mind.
3. – Drake – Argubly the best mixtape (album) of the year. Singles successful and best i ever had are all over the radio. Toured all over the country with just mixtape songs. Stayed relevent all year.
4. Lil Wayne – Made the most money touring this year. Responsible for the Drake hype. Stayed relevent all year (katie couric interview, a song with Madonna, plenty of singles with Drake)
5. Eminem – Good album, great radio spins, best lyrics on argubly the hottest single this year (Forever). Stayed relevent enouogh to sell 800k in two weeks!
6. 50 Cent – Argubly the best 2 mixtapes this year (War Angel and Forever King). Toured all over the country, has one of the hottest hiphop websites, stayed relevent all year.
7. Gucci Mane – Don’t really like him much, if at all. However, his songs stay on the radio, vidoes stay on tv and people always have something to say about Gucci. His hotness can’t be denied who cares if he can’t rap.
8. Rick Ross – Very solid album, solid album sales, solid singles, stayed relevent all year, even after his beefs with 50 and the correctional officer admissions.
9. Joe Buddens – Put out 3 albums this year! Part of argubly the most lyrical rap group ever. Toured all over the country. Stayed relevent all year. Was relevent enough that Raekwon had to have him handled.
10. Fab, Raekwon, Jada, Ghost? – All were hot at times. Neither were hot all year. For example: Where is Jada now? Where was Ghost in January? Not sure how Jeezy fits in the list at all with all the talk from ATL being about Gucci.

Wow Eminem fans aint playing!!! LOL I would def put Eminem maybe number 10 just because of his status and coming out of retirement.. But Relapse was a major dissapointment.. The only reason he sold alot of records and got mainstream media is because MTV and some media outlets tried to shove his return down our throats, and his core audience (not all hip hop fans), will buy his album regardless.. It should say something that the hottest thing he did this year is his guest verse on “Forever”.. I think he knows that which is why people are already talking about Relapse 2.. Otherwise the MTV list was a joke.. I wasnt surpised, except for Rick Ross lol, even that surprised me.. Miss Info get on the panel next year PLEASEEEE

MTV is a joke, why did they even have that fans vote?
Em was voted as the top, Buddens was on that list too pretty high.
But they didnt count that at all.
Heres the deal, Em is a better rapper than everyone on that list, only him and Jay are great.
Relapse sold more than any of them, what album this year sold more than Relapse first week? Kanye? For real? What is Kanye doing? he dropped a wack RB album I dont even know when, Drake doesnt even have an album, Jay just dropped an album, by the way BP3 wasnt even that hot, I mean Ross, Gucci and Jeezy, Fab, Rae over Em, even Fifty too. I mean this is a joke, this MTV list is the biggest joke list there is, why do we even pay attention to it?
Here is the deal, Ems album wasnt the normal album, it didnt have the rb features, the big guest spots, the radio singles and shit, and he isnt out there begging for people to pay attention to him, he rarely does interviews, does features once in a while, he isnt craving the spotlight, when he drops an album he comes out, but other than that, he doesnt.
So with that said, no big features really, no rb spots, hit singles, mixtapes, compare that to Kanye or Drake or Wayne, so I get its whose hot.
But watch when R2 drops, bet you he sells more than Jay did and the rest of them first week.
You want to say he is number 1, top 10, whatever, but the fact he wasnt on the list, this isnt oh he was 7 and should have been 2 or 1, he wasnt on the list. Thats a joke. That makes MTV look pathetic. Why have the fans voet in the first place if it dont mean shit?
Em was voted the best MC alive, and voted on this poll as the top spot, and didnt make the list.
Maybe this is just MTV’s way of getting people to talk about them, they do the same shit every year with every poll, best MC ever, etc, this is what they do, they leave Em off to stur shit up.
How can anyone say Rae or Fab is hotter in the game right now than Em? His Forever verse alone gets him more talk anb buzz and attention than anything Fab or Rae has done all year, not to mention Em dropped an album this year that sold more than anyone else this year. But he isnt on the list? WTF?

I think ppl are putting too much validity into an MTV list. MTV is a part of the machine that is destroying hip hop. So those zombies don’t hold weight with me. Most of us have been listening to hip hopbefore MTV even played it, so I understand the passion in this argument regardless.
But I didn’t know sooo many ppl think Drake is an MC???
Seriously, We all saw him reading his blackberry on Flex, when did reading your rhymes during a session become cool?
It wasn’t like he was recording a new track. So many rules have been broken, its not hip hop anymore.

First we find a way to rate not so good rappers on a list with good rappers (“hot” vs “nice”). And then what do they do? They overlook the rapper whose sold the most records this year (which makes him hot, right?) for rappers who havent even went gold. Am I missing something here?? Record sales dont make you the nicest (which i agree with), but somehow they also dont make you hot either huh. Damn shame.

Eminem relapse had the highest first week sales of any hip hop album this year. I thought that is what they are making there list about, sales, radio play etc etc. Not actual talent.
Maybe they purposely left him off to get more controversey and attention.

Oh what the fuck ever. To hell with this shitty list I’m just not going to listen to anybody’s opinion involving MCs anymore its like talking about religion. Wow in that damn list, there is like a few people aka insignificance that need to be plucked out of that bitch. Gucci Mane?????? lol just off the top. I think they purposely left Eminem out so we can talk about it. Well they fucked up. Never take mtv’s ass serious about hip hop.

Well I guess they weren’t counting lyrical skill, album sales, bringing in millions of new hiphop fans around the world, making every other emcee step up their game, etc. because I can’t think of any other reason why Em would be excluded from that list.
MTV is a joke.

i think that list, given the title
Hottest MC
is pretty fair…
people that are tripping shouldn’t put so
much effort into changing the list
but instead mabey changing
the title..
i think .. a more encompassing
label would read.. Coldest MC
not everybody has a hot nature
both extremes measure up.
right now.. i think the hottest mc
would have to be
gloria velez
(i’m just sayin)

LOL@ how people claim to be real hip hop fans but talk about record sales and marketing blitzes. In 1992, most of you would be looked at as fools. HOTTEST MC is NOT BIGGEST SELLING MC. HOTTEST MC is NOT the BEST reviewed MC. HOTTEST MC is NOT the UNDERGROUND darling MC. HOTTEST MC is he who has the most buzz going period. THAT BUZZ is amongst ALL those who listen to hip hop, whether in the burbs, through POP stations, rap stations or MTV. The list is 95% correct. EM had zero buzz amongst the HIP HOP audience. JAY-Z has always had well written albums so cut the marketing buzz nonsense. DRAKE, love him or hate him, was on more hot singles then most. And, the same story goes for KANYE.

How can you NOT be hot and sell 800K in two weeks? I dont know who had a hotter buzz for an album this year! I’m not saying Eminems album was good but he obviously was hot. I agree with everything else you said…….

Eminemn isn’t one of the best in the game??? After his 5 year absence, his album was highly anticipated and sold over $600,000 first week, which is a crazy number in this current climate, plus its gone on to sell well over the mil mark – making it the highest selling album. He even won MTV best hip-hop video, not to mention he was voted #1 by the fans.
His lyricism and flow are unmatched. Everyone has him on their wish list to work with – Wayne has been begging for a quite a while now. Even Jay himself said Em and Nas his only competition. He inducted Run DMC, was the talk at the MTV award shows. The Warning and his verse on Forever were crazy and that Westwood freestyle…please. Mention Em in a story and you’re sure to get people paying attention.
Like I said previously, you can debate his position in the list but the fact is he DESERVES and has EARNED his placed on any list of top MCs. He’s proven himself in the past and again this year. Straight disrespected by MTV!

Right NOW in 2009 … NOT IN OCTOBER 2009. Em’s album came out in May. If this list was done then he’d be on it cause that’s all people were talking about. This is the hottest em’s for 2009 and Em is one of them.

Cant say EM had no buzz, but he certainly has been overrated this year in particular. I have never seen a album sell over 600k in the first week and have so little staying power in the hearts, mind, ears, and radio rotation (even during late night harder hip hop hours).

WTF is wrong with all of you? I don’t even like the guy, but Lil Wayne is by a country mile hotter than every rapper out today… put together. He’s everywhere, on everything, and is getting better. I disagree with the list big time. its mainstream, not underground and not groups. Jay-Z was hot, but no where near as hot as Drake was in 09. Drake and Wayne locked it down.
#1 Wayne
#2 Drake
#3 Jay
#4 Gucci
#5 Kanye
#6 Fabo
#7 Jada
#8-10 don’t matter

don’t you think its biased that the whole list was post poned so that it consides just after their favorate rappers dropped their album so that they would definately be high on the list its somewhat bullshit that they can manage to put 50 cent on who hasnt had any good songs in how long and no album yet they put him on for everything except mcing and leave eminem out who had relapse (platinum) , forever, mariah diss, mtv awards, and funny ppl movie, and t.i. who had paper trail 2 number 1 singles at one point 1&2 and they have the nerve to mention kanyes verse on swagger like us which is t.i.’s song not to mention mtv show and songs from behind bars 50 shouldn’t have been on and kanye shouldn’t have been as high drake should have been highier than lil wayne and gucci should not have been above jeezy this list is officialy gone garbage the way of the source, used to have respect for it now i could give a fuck less

1. Why is Wayne higher than Drake? He has the mixtape/album of the year so far, in terms of popularity/ubiquitousness. Wayne is still hot, but he has cooled slightly, mainly because he doesn’t have an album out this year.
2. T.I. was scorching right up until he went to jail, meaning he was hot for the first 1/3 of 2009. If Raekwon can make the list, there is no reason T.I. should not. Raekwon’s buzz only became significant for about three weeks prior to the OB4CL2 release, and the buzz only reached deafening levels if you were a fan of the first one, or a fan of 90’s era East Coast rap in general.
3. Jeezy doesn’t have an album out this year. His buzz died down after inauguration and the whole “My President is Black” moment passed. If you’re gonna have him that high up on the list, 50 should by all rights be higher. He doesn’t have an album out either. The main difference, though, is that he kept his buzz alive and people talking about him all year for one reason or another.
4. Eminem has no buzz at all and hardly did after Relapse dropped. Everyone had pretty muched moved on after a week. But, again, if you’re gonna put Jeezy on there for bringing people out at concerts, pretty much, if I remember what was said correctly, then who doubts that Eminem can do that too? So what? Eminem outsold pretty much everyone on there except maybe Wayne, and can pretty much rap circles around them too.
It is what it is.

i cant even disargee with the list because to me “hot” means to have the most buzz it doesnt even mean they even have to be good jus have to be popular!! like how soulja boy was a hot artist coz his name was everywhere when he first came out doesnt mean his good doe but i do think jada shoulda been in the list somewhere.
i dont know how raekwon made it in as “hot” when u got ppl like T.I, eminem, kid cudi, etc. to choose from but im glad coz his album is easily the best album dis year in my eyes the only tru hip hop album dis year, only good album dis year go cop it STRIAGHT FIRE!!!

When u look at the MTV hottest MC list, omission of Eminem is total crap. Jay-Z is the best business man rapper alive, while Eminem is the best rapper alive. The list should have been the following listed below based on there criteria that MTV placed. Remember this is for the accomplishments and push being done right now in hip-hop
1. Jay-Z
2. Lil Wayne
3. Drake
4. Eminem
5. Kayne West
6. 50 Cent
7. T.I (if he wasn’t doing time, he would be higher on the list and listen to blueprint 3, Jay-Z cosigned T.I as one of the best)
8. Gucci Mane
9. Rakewon
10. Young Jezzy
Then the list will include 11. Rick Ross, 12. Fabulous will be on the bottom..

mtv farked up read this from mtv
“Eminem is one of the best ever on the mic. His track record is undeniable. The Hottest list deals with right now, though. If the Brain Trust had compiled the Hottest list back in May, there’s no doubt Eminem would have made the Top 10.”
so what their really saying is this is not the hottest mc of 2009 its the hottest mc of the month and they cant denie that beacause its thier statement so MTV never do a hottest mc list of any year ever again and never get your fans to vote who they think should be the hottest beacause our votes dont count 1 bit as you say we r the 11th judge WRONG we should be the number 1 judge because we are the people who buy and listing to thier music
R.I.P MTV

There are numerous SLR cameras, at every range of value. It becomes complex to know which one to choose. Is it high-priced due to the mark or does it merit it? I recognize that we all the time pay for what we acquire, other than some SLR cameras cost as much as a second hand auto….
