One thought (even though this show/series is going to be great and open a lot of minds)I wish for once they put a cat who doesn’t take sh*t in a situation like that and just head butted Maino. He only did that to make the dude look like a b*tch, while the dude was just trying to validate the point he was trying to make. What I am saying has zero to do with race, it has everything to do with being a man. If you could put anyone in the guy Andrew’s shoes I wish the guy would have just smacked the shit out of Maino. I think he would have got a lot more credibility as a man if he had done that then just taking more sh&t from the guy. For real I think Maino and his crew probably would’ve had more respect for the kid if he did that instead of just sitting there. Maybe that’s just the difference between the mentality of someone from the city compared to someone from the burbs.

I agree, pretty sure filming would’ve ended right there. IMO it just makes Maino look like a punk, plenty of artists have served time, been through hell and back, and wouldn’t have done that. More of a shock thing for promo, got me talking about it.. It’s a win for both of them I guess

Haha! Dude stood his ground when Maino couldn’t give him a real answer. I guess Maino didn’t get the memo that white people aren’t afraid of black people anymore.

At least when the cameras are rolling. White people are still very afraid of black folk. More than ever now probably. lol.

Maino tried to bitch him and it didn’t work. The guy stood right back up every time. You could see that the white guy wasn’t afraid, be was trying to get an answer to a question that Maino must have not dealt with internally yet. Maino became uncomfortable within himself and resorted to violence to try to shut dude up, but it didn’t work. I respect the white dude for standing his ground and forcing Maino to answer the question. Anyone can get smacked, or choked, but not everyone would still stand their ground afterwards. No points for smacking the suburban kid… Even though Maino slapped him, Maino comes out lookin like the bitch. Smdh

I think Jenks is a cool dude kept his ground in the situation. But this inspired me this is a real good show and documentry. Stuff like this could open ppl eyes and see first hand what its like and dude in the red hat who was talkin to jenks outside was 100% right.

Is Maino from Miami?…
Mad at NYC rappers, when will we have a new generation that make good music with a new sound that represents the city?

The choking and slapping was unnecessary and disturbing. I think Maino’s actions will haunt him. It is not about where you are from Maino. Prison does nothing good for a person and it makes them crazy. You don’t fight friends, room-mates, or co-workers ever. You are still in jail Maino. When they let you out your mind and spirit was left in that cage. Another thing the White dude was not scared of you he was trying to tell you something about yourself and it was too hurtful for you to listen to. This does not represent the spirit of Hip Hop. BTW dude telling him “Let him live” meant for him to ease up on you, he was not trying to kill you he was showing dominance over you and rage. I am going to pray for Maino he has light in him but the darkness is prevailing.

I think Maino got really offended by Jenks attitude towards the mini documentary . Yes the violence was uncalled for. But in Maino mind he felt like he was treating his movement like a joke. So Maino wasn’t having that. Maino main problem in this industry is he doesn’t know how to fully express himself without the violence being put in to play. He would’ve did that to anyone else that said that shit. Whether he was black or white. But Maino at the time he didn’t handle it well.Jenks called it the way he saw it. Jenks didn’t know that how most rappers conduct there lives in general. The sad thing about this is it exposes another side of the industry. The alcohol/drug/party problem. And that wasn’t Maino goal.
Hell no I’m not a Maino fan but i know what he was trying to explain. But with the parties being video taped and the brief violence’s getting displayed nothing got accomplished. But Maino being proven once again on how bad he handles public relations. If he ever wants to get his point across. He really needs to learn with every dispute he has. He doesn’t psychically have to hurt someone.
Anyways I feel with this mini documentary the hood took another L…FUCK! (Sigh)

I agree with you. Andrew came and chilled with Maino for 3 or 4 days and then started making judgments and questioning his parenting in front of cameras and Maino’s crew. He wasn’t right to resort in violence, but can you blame him?
While entertaining, this doc was exploitative. I mean, all of the rappers you can follow, you choose Maino.

Exactly , i think they choose Maino because of his public relations problems. It gives the people something to watch. Another artist would have shown studio footage and kept the partying and bullshitting out of the documentary. Whoever is advising him needs to be fired. He will never get his true point across with the way he is going now. I think he is reading these comments and probably writing a “fuck you bloggers” song. But we aren’t the ones putting our shit on blast.

Good Point! Jenks sarcasm on national tv meant Maino’s career was a joke & Maino’s work (well all musicians for that matter) was not a real job. He basically said he doesn’t understand why people look up to him being his job is simply 1 big party.
Who would not get pissed off?? Cause that was rude!!!
Artists may be around a lot of wild party animals, but many are very professional…of course Maino didn’t need to slap the gou though lol!

Well,
First of all I want to say I like a few of Maino’s songs and I have no idea who the guy interviewing him is. But, I mean I never really think it proves someone toughness by getting in a conflict with someone who poses no threat. Also, all this stuff about white people are scared of the hood and of black people blah, blah, blah is straight up bullshit. A lot of the most famous gangsters are white and surprisingly a bunch of rappers take their names. I not for the black and white bullshit but i can say if a white boy slapped up some square black reporter it would be labeled double standard.

Of course it would be labelled a double standard becasue white people are still the elite. You think they care a black man who just achieved legal equality just over 35 year ago calls Jenk a white boy? they have bigger fish to fry.
Also Jenk just wouldnt shut up and saw maino was getting agitated..but he understands that its GREAT tv to get maino to react like that. check out Louis Theroux documentaries, he has a similar tactic the wolf in sheeps clothing, get the subject to react..look innocent and you got great t.v

also if youve seen the whole scene (the fight) you will notice Jenk was being extremely sarcastic to maino when he asks what it took him to get where he is,and said you know what this scar is ..jenk replied “no i dont what is that” sarcastically..that is asking for an ass whoppin..maino shuda restrained himself..but jenk in think was a lil tipsy and his true personality came out…maino didnt like that. you cant trivialise some one who you know has been viciously assaulted like that and expect no repurcussions.

I saw this episode and felt like we as blacks and fans of hip hop took another smack in the face. Andrew’s question was a legit one and what does that say about Maino who instead of responding vebally like a real man, chose to do that to a skinny white guy from the suburbs while he is surrounded by your entourage. That was some real bitchassness. I liked Maino prior to this but he has officially lost a fan in me.

What little respect I had for Maino just seeped out of my feet. Gone. When you’re real you don’t pick fights wit people that aren’t first, a threat, and second not trying to disrespect you. I hope this was planned for tv. I shoot videos for groups in DC and if a client started acting up like that it’d be over. I think it was done to get attention. You can tell by how it was cut. But still I don’t think anyone saw that and thought about how hardcore Maino is.

Wow, so much racism here. Maino didn’t start choking Jenks for no reason. Jenks said something along the lines of this:
“People look up to you man, and all I see you doing is going to clubs, getting wasted…” etc. etc. Of course, that doesn’t validate the choking, but Maino didn’t start doing it for no reason like it’s being made out to be.
Also, for those calling Jenks a wimp, he kept getting up. He wasn’t going to take a swing either for the show or because Maino’s obviously stronger, but he kept getting back up and in Maino’s face. You’ve got to give him some props for that, even if it was stupid and possibly to draw out a reaction.

So what if Maino had 10 years in prison , a lot of poeple took twice of that and they don’t act like him. He thinks that no one went through what he went through .. so what that he suffered a little. I also think that Maino was as ass for making a fight , I know jenks started it but Maino should have controled his tempers and take it like a man not act like a kid and start a fight.
